Hi everyone and thanks a lot for the fantastic engagement and positive feedback! Based on the comments, we wanted to explain a few things more in depth: 1) There is foot sliding now in video which you are correct to point out. The product is still coming together behind the scenes - all the different parts work independently, but when put together there's still polish needed. Since the root position of the suit comes via the gloves, there is some balancing between the existing locomotion from the IMUs and then EMF root that needs some more balancing. Right now the existing locomotion filter still overwrites the EMF signal in some cases, causing the root drift. It's something we are confident will be smooth and balanced by the time we start shipping in November. We'll be releasing videos as we go along so we can show the progress on this front. 2) Some are commenting on the glove performance. This has a similar explanation to the one above with the balancing still being tweaked. But the performance in the final setup will never be "worse" than the gloves as they are today - and they are pretty great! We just published this video with a closer look at the realtime performance of the gloves for anyone who has not seen that up close: th-cam.com/video/_TzzI5mm9FM/w-d-xo.html
His fingers seem fine when they're closed, good catch, looks like there's still a bit of ironing out to do, I'd like to see more demos of a person doing more game related animations like carrying things or holding a weapon.
I'm watching this space very carefully as it's something i'm looking to invest in the next 6-10 months or so. I've heard not-so-great things about the Manus / XSens gloves, although Xsens looks pretty solid and is my current path, despite how fast video ai solution seem to be coming on. If the Rokoko system for body/head/hands gets close then i'd be very tempted to switch and get on board with this full setup for a metahuman pipeline. I would love to see a test just sitting, standing, drinking a cup of coffee, doing gentle movements that isn't kicking and waving around where subtle details can be easily masked.
This space is moving so fast especially the video to motion sector with AI. The research behind is just bonkers. I am confident that in the next 1 - 3 years you won't need any suit. Personally I would wait. Have you seen cyanpuppets? Check them out.
@@kthxbye1132 wow, never heard of them -- yeah that is also pretty impressive isn't it! Annoyingly it still seems like rock solid mocap is still be in the upper realms of cost / setup, unless you're going to do a chunk of cleanup. Our recommendation would be 2-3, but you can have up to 5 in a single scene - it really depends on how solid your WiFi situation is when you start getting into multiple actors.
Can we seek it with movement outside of the safety zone and back in to see how gracefully it handles the recovery? Also staying within the boundary but moving closer to the boundary as the test. I'm almost curious if this can be mounted upside down to maximize the floor space to not obstruct actors in a scene.
When you move outside the Coil Pro’s capture space, your Smartsuit Pro and Smartgloves will function as they would in a setup where a Coil Pro is not present. When you move back into the Coil Pro capture space, your setup will automatically revert to using Coil Pro’s magnetic field for absolute position tracking. We will definitely add more content, and show movement outside of the Coil Pros capture space🙌Stay tuned😊
Hey! The Coil Pro gives global position data of the Smartsuit Pro II, eliminating global drift. It does this by establishing the absolute position via the Smartgloves :)
@@tybost The feet only show drift like that on live takes - as soon as you record something our foot locking system kicks in and the feet stay in place whenever they're on the ground :)
That is to be expected - the Coil only tracks the gloves in absolute space, so you still need to do a recording to get access to foot locks - this was all live footage and not a recording so the feet are expected to be a bit slippy :) All gets fixed once you record however!
The Smartgloves are already a top-notch glove on the market as a standalone product. Think of the Coil Pro as an enhancement that will ensure no occlusion by removing any drift and allowing you to achieve absolute positioning over time. Hope this helps :)
@@RokokoMotion I think they are very good. But when I try to make a fist there's either a lot of overlap in the bones or simply not enough flexion in the joints.

We released a longer video running through exactly what it is, which I'll link to - but the short answer is that it uses EMF tracking to get the absolute position of the gloves. BUT once we have the absolute position of the gloves, we can also get rid of global drift for the entire suit as well. This doesn't mean that each sensor in the suit has absolute position, but rather that the entire suit won't drift over time. th-cam.com/video/uMv-9WaPCLc/w-d-xo.htmlsi=IDN36a-faLZcBYfd
At the moment, you can't because we don't have any specific trackers for props, but stay tuned, as we have plans to track props in the future🔥 Though you can still use the Smartsuit Pro II and the Smartgloves while sitting on a motorbike🙌
With the Smart coil giving absolute position in the gloves, does that mean that there will not be any more drift on the fingers? Also with that being said, I assume the suit will still have the normal drift on each sensor, but the global tracking will follow the gloves? I assume the suit will have all of the same individual sensor drifting issues, but no more global drift. Just looking for some clarification before purchasing.
Hey Jonathan! Great question, thanks for asking. The glove is already using an EMF system to track each finger's movement in relation to the hand, meaning there isn't any drift on finger movements today. With the Coil Pro, global position for the Smartsuit Pro II is established as you mention, using the Smartgloves in relation to the Coil Pro. That means that local drift on specific sensors on the suit may still occur.
@RokokoMotion are you saying currently there should be no finger drift? Or with the coil pro, there will be no finger drift? I am very interested, and I love the suit and gloves! I'm just hoping to be able to utilize them for more live things.
Hey @SecretKeysPortfolio - we just posted a pinned comment addressing your concerns. It's not quite all tied together yet but we're so excited to release more videos over the coming weeks as things start coming together.
Nice tech. But will it work it 2 or more Suits in scene? Will it track properly? Is it helpful in that scenario? Let's say for AA Studios with decent budget ?
Hey, if you're able to track the glove sensors with the EMF field, why don't you also do that with the suit's sensors? That way, you'd have millimeter accuracy for the whole setup?
Hey there! The Coil Pro emits an Electromagnetic Field (EMF). To use EMF for absolute position tracking, the devices need to utilize a dedicated hardware EMF sensor such as the Smartgloves. The Smartsuit Pro II does not contain the required EMF sensors to utilize the electromagnetic field produced by Coil Pro, as it uses Inertial Motion Units (IMU). The Coil Pro gives us the global position data of the Smartsuit Pro II, eliminating global drift. It does this by establishing the absolute position via the Smartgloves.
