Went down to Sand Key a couple days after watching one of your sheepshead videos and caught my first sheepshead along with 4 others. Me and my friend had a great lunch! Thanks man!
Perfect timing for this video! Have some artificial shrimp I am going to use down in Florida and was looking for some tips how to use them effectively as I usually use live bait. Thanks 😊
I’ve been living in FL (gulf coast also) for over five years and have NEVER had a good day like this! I’ve spent hours in “common” areas and get nothing but lady fish, lizard fish or the occasional bonnet head. Thonny’s a BEAST at catching!
Been looking for this tip that no other fishing vids i watched provided. I just started fishing, and i got a shrimp lure from my father as a gift and im frustrated for not catching any fish lately with the lure.
Thonny always good videos and info. I will definitely take some of those to Barbados next time I go. I've never use them before but the action was sick.
Yes brother please do a Shark video 🦈 I caught two bonnetheads this past weekend on live shrimp! So much fun, thx for another great tutorial on artificials!!! Do you use a loop knot with those D.O.A. shrimp???
Would really enjoy a shark video. If possible larger shark then I see alot of other channels do. Preferably 6ft and larger. It would be super cool to see you use Sting Ray for some really monster Hammerhead sharks
Shrimp imitations can be awesome. Try the Salt Strong Power Prawns, they're just about perfect. You don't need legs or a bunch of details, the profile and action are what matters along with the presentation. I've also had good luck with the different Z Man shrimps. The buoyant plastic of Z Man and the Salt Strong prawns are superior to DOA and the action is better. I have some DOA shrimp and don't use them because the others are so much better in my opinion.
DOA is great but don’t hold up to catching too many fish on it. After 5 to 10 trout it will not hold up. So a tip is to almost pull shrimp out off hook and coat hook with super glue then pull back over hook and then at bent out a drop of super glue and let dry for 30 mins and then you can catch 10 times fish on same shrimp!
Agreed 💯 I don’t like how the doa shrimp slides down the hook after a couple of fish! I started gluing them recently especially with z-man plastics. I find that the wapsi glue works better on plastics the other ones I use just burns the plastics
#1 & #2 fits well. #3,4,5,6 are wide gapped for big snook/grouper for all hook types. Oddly enough worm hooks and offset hooks serve thier own time and purpose like d.o.a shrimp body's.
A shark video would be mixing things up, but I do love the trout action in this video. Good information on technique and equipment. Thanks for sharing another great video of a day on the water.
A shark fishing video would be so cool!
I agree 👍
Agree!

Nice! 👍
Another great video Thon. Show us how to tie up. Leader to main line and also what knots you use to tie on your hooks and lures 👍
That’s on the list for sure! Thanks for watching!

Good action man! Those jacks are a blast sometimes haha
You have done a really good job on this episode thonny 🎉
where is this spot?
Yeah boy, Thonny on the action😀
Hey thonny was wondering where you found that Simms backpack the one on the thumbnail of the video where you fished with fat belly two videos ago
Just started fishing and looking to do my first saltwater trip soon in this area. Will have to try out this setup! BTW, shark video sounds dope.
Hell yea, do a Shark Video. Or a Peacock Bass Video would be pretty good too.
It was awesome seeing you at the skyway yesterday man. Thanks for the tips, tight lines.
Likewise bud
Another banger great video... Let's see some shark fishing I think that would be dope.. tight lines my friend

Hope you catch for first one on the artificial shrimp! 👊
Another great video, love the drone shots 💪
Yep, picked up a few tips, thanks.
Cool drone video. I like the artificial too
Every new Thonny video: WHERE IS THE SPOT? LOL
Wow I was literally thinking of hitting this spot up and then you post this vid amazing bro. Decent snapper under those docs
Man can't figure this spot out the location
It’s in the Tierra verde area. If that gets you any closer lol
Thonny always good videos and info. I will definitely take some of those to Barbados next time I go. I've never use them before but the action was sick.
I got a question for leader, do you tie leader directly on your main or use a swivel
I tie the leader directly to the main line
@@Thonny what knot is it, I’ve always been using a swivel
@@frostizz2072 I have a knot tying video up. Just look up Thonny knot
Thonny with another banger! 🔥
Thanks dude!
There you go! It doesn’t have to be a live bait to catch fish. Bravo!
Thanks for watching!
Can’t wait til you get a boat
I live in the tampa area also I would love to see some shark fishing so I can try what you do lol

@Thonny - as a fishing enthusiast, what are your thoughts on the documentary Seaspiracy?
Hey Thonny what type and size hooks were you using with the shrimp? Thanks
What rod and reel are you using?
Would really enjoy a shark video. If possible larger shark then I see alot of other channels do. Preferably 6ft and larger. It would be super cool to see you use Sting Ray for some really monster Hammerhead sharks
Do you fish those DOAS with a weighted hook?
They already come weighted! But you could fish them with weighted hook! They sell a 9 pack and they come unrigged
@@Thonny yes that’s what I got they just came with j hooks. Is the weight on those 1/16 or 1/8?
@@RepentGFX the 3” DOA shrimp is usually 1/4oz but it feels like a 1/8
Nice man! DOA is the ole faithful... those voodoo shrimp by egret baits are money too 🤙
Heard about the vudu shrimp!
Do you fish st Pete more or old port Tampa bay ?
St Pete!

I like throwing artificial shrimp sometimes! Especially spots like the seawall. I’ve caught flounder and snook doing that near the south skyway pier
Great vid as always thonny
Commenting in hopes of this giving me good luck & I’ll get some footage next 😭😫🙏🏽
On god I was about to head to your channel after this and ask where your vids at ?! 😂😂😂🎣
@@leightonchung7610 I know 😭 I’m going out today wish me luck! I haven’t had with the weather lately but today I shall 😤😂

Yes, get into the shark 🦈 fishing
Nice vid my man! Still waiting to get together & slay! 😆
That’s great 🙌
Thon , should have cut up one of those jacks and tossed some out there on a heavy rig, oh make sure you throw on some of the skinny wire ! 👍🏼🐟
Wasn’t prepared 😂
@@Thonny was out there today same place , tossed a tsunami shrimp no luck a lot of boat traffics and weeds 😕

I watch quite a few fishing videos. You are one of my favorites. Keep up the good work.
I appreciate it
Good video, yes, I would like to see a shark fishing video.
Thanks Thonny
Quality vid
Thank you!
Excellent video a lot of action what a productive day. Keep slaying
Thank you!!
I have the worst luck with DOA'S every time by the second or third cast they get bitten in half by a dang puffer. Lol
Definitely want to see a shark video! Maybe the apollo beach reserve?!?! I've seen and caught a bunch out there.
Sold action thonny🤟🏼
Caught 11 tarpon on a doa at the seven mile bridge last night
Great video again. Looking forward to trying those shrimp. A shark video sounds good.
Shark n cook👍👍
Replace the d.o.a hook with gamakatsu hook . its a game changer
That’s a good idea! What size hooks?

@ min 3.41video.... definately NOT the correct way yo put a fish back when you are catching and releasing. :(
