Hi. I have watched you catch probably hundreds of fish and that is great, but what I took away after this video Was those two minutes of shrimp info in the middle. Please please do that more often. Good health and stay safe.
Thanks Lawson. Great tip on slowing down. I know this is an older video but it is perfect timing for me as I’ve just moved to FL. I hope your son and your family are doing wonderfully Sir. I certainly enjoy and appreciate your videos.
can't wait till 100k subs since you said you'll have a meet and greet. i think everyone including yourself would really enjoy it. I go to your side of town a couple times a year from the east coast and theres nothing more that id love to do than to fish with you
I know I'm 4 years late to the party but I 100% agree. One of my personal favorite ways to fish DOA and other artificial shrimp is to cast the across the up current side of some sort of structure, like an oyster bar, and just let the current sweep it across. If I reel at all, it's only to keep slack out of the line so I can feel a bite. Great video and yours is one of the channels that makes me super exited to move back to Florida after being in craphole Louisiana for the last 11 years
I very much enjoyed the extra talking. The main reason I watch videos of others fishing is so I can learn from them. Thanks for doing what ya do. I'll definitely be using that technique and making a video out of it! Thanks
Always my go to bait is a plastic shrimp and a jig head, I think that it is the best way because I can fish it in a million different ways. I can fin it extremely slow, just like you, I can use it in a medium speed, ad also I can use it very quick at the top. When I know that there are fish when I’m fishing, and they are fired up, working that lure fats is very effective, it is cool to see and very explosive bite when you work it quickly, it is awesome to use that
Thanks for the educational video! I listened to your podcast with salt strong. It's really cool to see/ listen to you on other media platforms. Keep doing what you love!
New subscriber here from Alamo, Texas. Love your channel cuz I’m learning a lot. This video helped me cuz I’m that guy that was fishing this lure all wrong. Ill be sure to slow it down next time I’m on the water.
Loved the "slowed down" video. Love the informative take. I only fly fish but I have found I can better tie flies and fish them from watching the spin/bait caters when they explain what they are doing and why. I reside in SC and get down to FL about 3 times a year to salt water fish so this video really helps. Lawson, thanks! Keep doing what ya doing. BTW, do more collaborations with other TH-camrs. Love it when my favs get together. Yo, belated Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!
Lawson, I love your videos!! Could you do a deep sea party boat video for all of us that don’t have a nice boat or money for a private charter. Maybe use the boat tackle for a while and then switch to whatever you think will work. It would be cool to see how many you catch compared to the rest of the boat. You could explain the techniques so all of us can catch more fish the next time we go out!
Hey my name is jamil I was raised in lakeland fl so bass fishing is what I grew up on and now I moved to tarpon springs Florida and its the complete opposite cause I'm now surrounded by saltwater witch is super dope. So Im just switching all my equipment to salt so wanna say thanks for all the videos you post cause its helping me out so much on learn a lot from watching all your videos these past month. So thanks again I look toward the next one. I also thought of a off the wall challenge and thats using a cane pole for saltwater fishing haha. Also I seen something about give a ways from old stuff you dont use if you still do that anything will help being that I'm just starting off and things are kinda pricy having three lil girls n just moving thanks again keep them videos rolling
When I moved to Florida (from Chicago) I used the same gear just gotta hose off with fresh water when you get home. And switch to braid if you haven't already. Keep fishing and save up for new gear, but keep fishing in the meantime!
Excellent Man! Pompano is pound for pound one of the strongest fish in saltwater. I wish I could catch more of them so if you figure out any secrets, please share in the future! They really turn on in the panhandle gulf from March to May.
Lawson, have you ever heard of "bottom bouncing while nearly dead sticking"? If not, it's bottom bouncing soft plastics, jigs, and bucktails while hardly reeling and giving the lure 1 or 2 bounces before counting to 3 and bouncing it again. When fish are sluggish due to colder water temperatures, they rather have the easiest opportunity to grab small prey without having to chase it as the predator slowly swims, which is when that very slow bottom bouncing comes into play. Also, 2 thing to look into while wade fishing in the salt are a boga grip and a tacklebag. Can't wait to see topwater videos from those flats! Whopper Ploppers, Spooks, 4" floating poppers, and weightless soft plastics!
Yea I generally don't have the patience for tossing a shrimp bait too often. But mostly bc I don't have but a few hrs to be out on the water so I'm always pressed for time.
Nice vids. FYI.. you should use the mini mirrordines in winter with lady fish procure or greenie procure. Before the last front landed 23 trout and eleven redfish all off the same mirrordine. Last trip this past Tuesday was 37 trout and three reds. Bite wasn't till the outgoing till two-three in the afternoon. Btw, fort Pierce south bridge, if you want to catch big 5lb. Lady fish at night. All you want bro. Try it they do grow big.
Thanks for the educational video. Awesome! Because you've been so generous with your knowledge, I thought I would share some in return. That was not a Northern Mockingbird that was interrupting your video...it was a Blue Jay.
Dude thanks for the artifical shrimp fishing tip!! My goodness, I thought I should absolutely catch one given that all saltwater game fish eat it, but you diagnosed me 100% accurately. Fished it way too fast!
Man, great video and info! I must have been the person you’ve seen fishing that Hussain bolt shrimp. I’ve never caught anything on artificial shrimp and now I know why, I’ve got to give em another shot. 👍🏻
So one thing I'e noticed is that (judging by the click sound when you cast) you tend to cast your FG knot through the guides. Do you notice any wear and tear with the front of the knot or do you notice the backend slipping at all?
Ladyfish can get up to 1 metre here in Australia but we call them giant herring, pretty sure they’re the same fish and they can sure pull some string at that size!
Recently subbed and I have literally been binge watching your videos since quarantine. This video was great with tons of info! Definitely a plus when you break down and kick us some knowledge 💯
Hey buddy have you tried those new yo-zuri 3D twitch baits? I use them a few months ago and caught a couple trout on them but nothing significant... Let me know... Thanks...
What a great video and I really like the approach that you took on explaining on how to use the shrimp to the audience please keep up the good work sir till next time
I liked that video so much, I subscribed. That was the first video that actually showed me something. My son and I are from Miami and the Keys and we have no idea how to fish the Banana River or Mosquito Lagoon or whatever. We live here now and sold our blue water boat and bought a Pathfinder. We've fish it three times in the river over the past couple of weeks and except for maybe a dozen juvinal trout, goose eggs. I can not find any other videos (apart this one) that have been of any use. Keep doing that stuff. You'd be the only one. And yes, I've been working the shrimp too quickly.
Dude, I caught a 32" ladyfish off a dock in Matlacha in June last year. It was an epic jumping show! Laughed the entire time. And smaller ladies were every catch. Had to be a massive school within casting distance. Zman shrimp under a float. Fun.
Exactly! First year i used shrimp i didn't catch a single fish on one! I sat the pole down to get a drink and it got smashed. Since then, i basically drag and slow pop off bottom. And let it sit....small pop up. Let it sit. Much better
Not sure if any one has mentioned this, but that was a heavy dyne; reason I point that out is because it is hard to fish the heavy slow without plowing sand. But, really salty water changes the buoyancy of suspending baits...so. A MR 17 sinks much more slowly than a MR 18, aka 'heavy dyne'.
I surely was fishing it wrong, caught many snook, few tarpon, on live mullet and pen fish, but started fishing again and want to try redfish also, so fishing with the artificial shrimp, thanks for the info
Hey Lawson, have you tried Slayer Inc. paddle tails? They are made in Jacksonville. I really like them and this month they are coming out with a 5". Fish on, I really enjoy your vids. Come on up to mosquito lagoon sometime...
Name a more iconic duo than Lawson and a DOA shrimp,I’ll wait.
Lawson and Zeke
Peanut butter and jelly
Peric am lettuce jajaj
Lawson and his overuse of his trolling motor
Lawson and saying that every fish eats shrimp
Hi. I have watched you catch probably hundreds of fish and that is great, but what I took away after this video Was those two minutes of shrimp info in the middle. Please please do that more often. Good health and stay safe.
"what kinda frickin Hussain bolt shrimp are you trying to imitate right now?" - a legendary quote by Lawson Lindsey
Facts! I literally had yo pause and laugh
I think he meant Usain Bolt
lmao
I fallow a lot of fishing channels. In my opinion your channel is one of tge best Im fallowing! Realistic down to earth for the everyday fisherman.
Thanks Lawson. Great tip on slowing down. I know this is an older video but it is perfect timing for me as I’ve just moved to FL. I hope your son and your family are doing wonderfully Sir. I certainly enjoy and appreciate your videos.
It took me a while to work the shrimps slowly. I still have to conciously alow it down. Solid advice. Sometimes you have to drop it on a snook's head.
can't wait till 100k subs since you said you'll have a meet and greet. i think everyone including yourself would really enjoy it. I go to your side of town a couple times a year from the east coast and theres nothing more that id love to do than to fish with you
Great video. I’m from Michigan and usually don’t get the breakdown on what you’re doing. Awesome to understand the content even better sometimes!
I know I'm 4 years late to the party but I 100% agree. One of my personal favorite ways to fish DOA and other artificial shrimp is to cast the across the up current side of some sort of structure, like an oyster bar, and just let the current sweep it across. You're so educational man I really appreciate you favorite Channel on TH-cam
Dude... Your shrimp crawl impression was totally, Chris Farley. LOL. "In a van, down by the river!"
Putting DOA shrimp on the end of a fishing line, is the equivalent of putting a 10lb sirloin steak in front of a LION lol.
Nice Pompano. I think you should do a reel maintenance video with all of the salt water you fish. Good Winter topic.
I very much enjoyed the extra talking. The main reason I watch videos of others fishing is so I can learn from them. Thanks for doing what ya do. I'll definitely be using that technique and making a video out of it! Thanks
Hey dude. Great vids. Quick question. Do you ever modify artificial shrimp? Add weights? Rattles? Scents? Etc?
I love you doing instructional videos with also action. It’s a great combination. Keep it up!!!
Need to get back too these kinds of videos from time to time. Priceless info being dropped, as I prepared for my first day on the water in months.
I like the change up and you imparting the wisdom and knowledge. Also the underwater release views were really cool!!
Always my go to bait is a plastic shrimp and a jig head, I think that it is the best way because I can fish it in a million different ways. D.O.A is the one artificial shrimp ive never caugh fish on. Awesome video ill give em a try some more this drum season!
Good advice. I always picture Ramone from the movie cars when I am fishing a plastic shrimp. Low and slow!
Thanks for the tip. Now that I think about it I find myself working a gulp shrimp fast.
Nice tips! About to do my first inshore fishing next month on vacation and will be working that shrimp nice and slow under the mangroves.
Thanks for the educational video! I listened to your podcast with salt strong. It's really cool to see/ listen to you on other media platforms. Keep doing what you love!
Thanks man cool to hear you listened
I love you, man! 🤣🤣 Hussain Bolt shrimp!! 🤣🤣🤣❤️❤️
Great tip on the artificial shrimp!
I didn’t hear “ what’s going on guys, Lawson here.” Been watching for a long long time now and this is the first video I haven’t heard it
"What freakin Hussein Bolt shrimp are you trying to imitate right now?" LOL 😂
New subscriber here from Alamo, Texas. Love your channel cuz I’m learning a lot. This video helped me cuz I’m that guy that was fishing this lure all wrong. Ill be sure to slow it down next time I’m on the water.
Shout out to Alamo, I'm from weslaco
Awesome video man I know hands down I fish my shrimp wayyyy to fast but gonna slow it down and see what’s up
I want to see you get back out for those Goliath’s! Those were some 🔥🔥🔥 videos
Great video and information bro! Gonna use this to my benefit!
Loved the "slowed down" video. Love the informative take. Definitely like how you're changing up your fishing
I love the informational video PLEASE make more and keep killing it!!
Thanks for the advice. I am one of those who has been working my shrimp too fast.
Excellent Man! Pompano is pound for pound one of the strongest fish in saltwater. I wish I could catch more of them so if you figure out any secrets, please share in the future! They really turn on in the panhandle gulf from March to May.

I’m dying to whack a big trout on a spook once it warms up
Yea I generally don't have the patience for tossing a shrimp bait too often. But mostly bc I don't have but a few hrs to be out on the water so I'm always pressed for time.
Great video! Big fan from South Texas.
You rock Lawson!🎣
100k subs comin in hot!
lmao im just picturing a Husain bolt shrimp
Nice vids. FYI.. you should use the mini mirrordines in winter with lady fish procure or greenie procure. Before the last front landed 23 trout and eleven redfish all off the same mirrordine. Is it not good to use a snap swivel for quicker switching up of different lures? Does the snap swivel cause the lure to not swim correctly?
Well I now know what I’m doing wrong with the shrimp lol I didn’t even notice it until you said something. Thanks!
I try and learn new stuff from all your videos. Thank for sharing the do's and don'ts.
Thanks for the tip on the artificial shrimp. I hope you give us more tips on how to fish other lures.
Nailed it. Slow it down.I love the shrimp baits.
Enjoying your new fishing style.
Love all the info I don’t know if you’ve done a video on different knots you use but would be nice to see.
Those beautiful Pompanos are the most fun fish to catch! Great eating too!
Wish there was a double thumbs up button. Great video. With our hectic lives it is sometimes hard to just slow things down on the water.
awesome video man really good information about the artificial shrimp !!! keep up the good work , fish on 🎣🎣
Thanks for the educational video.
Great video glad you broke it down for us with that shrimp because i now know for sure i been working it to fast thanks dude
Keep doing the underwater releases
Man, great video and info! I must have been the person you’ve seen fishing that Hussain bolt shrimp. I’ve never caught anything on artificial shrimp and now I know why, I’ve got to give em another shot. 👍🏻
Thanks for the tips Lawson I definitely will be using them. Great videos!
great explanation, man! I'll give the shrimps an other shot when we get to travel again
I love the wading videos. Come to texas and get on some monster speckle trout
About to start trying artificials at Bolivar .. Always figure the water is too murky, but we'll see how it goes.
I agree with you on your thoughts on ladyfish and jack crevalle - all the hallmarks of a true gamefish in those species.
Enjoy your content. Couple questions. What area do you fish. What setup are you using? Rod/Reel/Line? Thanks!
a string ray fishing video would be awesome.
Interesting idea I may try to catch a big flat boy
Thanks for the tip man! Loved it and want more of it
“This is one of the best lures ever”.....aight I’m gonna switch lures now🤙 totally me
So one thing I'e noticed is that (judging by the click sound when you cast) you tend to cast your FG knot through the guides. Do you notice any wear and tear with the front of the knot or do you notice the backend slipping at all?
With the light line in today’s video that was actually just a uni to uni knot and that’s why it was a little noisy
Thanks for being informative. I enjoy the learning
Ladyfish can get up to 1 metre here in Australia but we call them giant herring, pretty sure they’re the same fish and they can sure pull some string at that size!
Yup. I guess I have been using them wrong...
Guess I should put my DOAs back in the tackle box! Lol
Haha Hussein Bolt! Must be a new species of landlocked shrimp
You know what, I'll try that! I'm guilty for miss using the shrimp. Cool video bro.
Can you do some more bass fishing, btw I absolutely love all the saltwater wading content you’ve been doing lately👍🔥
I’ve been wanting to go smack some largies soon
great stuff! helping me get through vet school lol
I have that same lure. I was using it on a pier with a bobber and just left it. Caught the only fish that day on that. Great info!
What’s your set up in this video, Rod and Reel?
Another great video bro.......love the wade videos........that's my main way I fish..........LOVE IT ------ THANKS
What’s a good spinning size for both tarpon and jack? What reel would that be?
"Shrimp don't do anything man! They just sit there!"
This cracked me up, and I insta-subscribed.
Recently subbed and I have literally been binge watching your videos since quarantine. This video was great with tons of info! Definitely a plus when you break down and kick us some knowledge 💯
Hey what rod are you using medium light ? Trying to get acquainted with different rod types.
Yep medium light
Wazzup erywone hope your having a good day
What series are you using lindsey?
Good on ya Lawso for keeping it real, love your work mate 👌🏼
You’re my boy Brett
Good video Lindsey, glad to see you mixing it up with different content buddy .......👊🤙👏
Hey buddy have you tried those new yo-zuri 3D twitch baits? I use them a few months ago and caught a couple trout on them but nothing significant... Let me know... Thanks...
Lawson, this video helped me have my first successful day of speckled trout fishing. Biggest was 22.5"
Can't thank you enough, my dawg.
What a great video and I really like the approach that you took on explaining on how to use the shrimp to the audience please keep up the good work sir till next time

Going to give this Shrimp a go over at Moro Bay, Ca next week.
