- In honor of the DuckTales 2017 Season 3 Episode 12 entitled “Let's Get Dangerous” here's a fan-made remake of the classic Darkwing Duck intro.

The fact that the original Darkwing Duck has become the Nega Duck against his replacement is what sold me on this new story.

@@therealmistahjay They even got Jim Cummings to come back and do the original Darkwing's voice. In continuity, Darkwing Duck was an old tv show and when they announced a reboot movie the original actor went crazy and becomes Nega-Duck. The actor they hired to play Darkwing in the movie, Drake Mallard, decides to take up the mantle and start fighting crime for real.
It's actually pretty ingenious, if you ask me.
And has now become the Joker to his Batman, which is actually fitting since the latter is part of his inspiration. DW is a cross between Batman and The Shadow, a noir style superhero.

@@therealmistahjay sort of, in the duck talesverse DWD is a comic book and the voice actor for the cartoon plays the movie actor of darkwing duck the movie within ducktales. In this universe the replacement actor becomes a real superhero but the original darkwing goes mad and tried to kill him since he's the original even though he's just a movie star.
This theme song remake makes me want to see a Darkwing Duck reboot even more

@@alanoliva2020 BIG same; it took a little while for Chris' DW to grow on me, but he brings so much to the role while also paying such great tribute to Jim's original voice acting (hearing him do the "yyyeep yep yep" in LGD made me extremely happy)

Funny how I was born 2003, but two of my favorite shows (S.W.A.T. Kats and Darkwing, the latter only realizing when I realized how excited I was for the Darkwing lore in Ducktales) are from the 90's.....

Thank you for making it! It was a huge missed opportunity on Disney’s part to not use the Darkwing theme song for the special!
At first I thought the same thing, but then I realized it was so that the episode could be longer. If they had put in the theme song it would have been cool, but the episode may not have been as good
I figured it was because, if they wanted that to be a soft pilot they would need to either keep the theme song in, or create a revamped version (which is more likely) like they did with ducktales. Doing that would be too expensive for 1 episode considering nothing has been Green lite yet
@@narri214 you say that but when they teased the rescue rangers in that one episode, you could hear an instrumental version of the rescue rangers theme playing in the background and they dont even have the same continuity exposure Darkwing has had.
@@Shiirow I hear you, but I dont think there is a call to remake rescue ranger, where as Darkwing has a shot. Who knows maybe it was a licensing issue.

Further proof that Darkwing Duck CAN in fact work in today's day and age just like it did back then.
The episode itself was direct proof of that already but this just adds on to it!

Anything can work, so long as you have people with actual talent at control of the helm.
The episode was pretty much a sneak pilot. Disney does this a lot, put a big episoe where the main cast take a backseat that could work as a pilot for a spin off, see the reaction, if it works well they can consider the project seriously.

Pro Token420 yeah I still can't believe it either. I'm more surprised that the news never mentioned her death as well; she's not an arcane voice actress, so it's very weird.
Pro Token420 yeah, she voiced a lot of the different characters aforementioned in my previous comment. Also a lot of the voices for the Gummi Bears and the classic Ducktales passed too.
Now I want a reboot spin-off more than ever. Make it happen, Disney.

Garth Davis I have an idea and predictions about the Darkwing Duck Reboot.
Here are my predictions:
1. The Main Characters are the same, but Dewey is going to be in the main cast like in Ducktales.
2. The Fearsome 4 are gone have different origin stories than the 1991 counterparts.
3. Megavolt might have worked to some electric power plant and he might've feel into a tank of electric eels, just like Electro
4. Quackerjack would be a circus clown instead of an insane psychotic toy maker, and he might've been replaced by some magician.
5. Liquidator would've worked as an oil businessman and he must've fell into an oil tanker and he transformed into his counterpart.
6.Bushroot would be a botanist at first and some pollen from the Venus flytrap might've transformed into a Venus flytrap like monster like Wildvine from Ben 10
7. Some characters who appeared in Darkwing Duck or from Ducktales like Gizmoduck/Fenton, Scrooge, Glomgold & etc would have some appearences.
8. Morgana Macawber would be a film actor like Drake Mallard instead of a vampire.
9. Some villains from Darkwing Duck like Bug Master, Jambalaya Jake, Lilliput, Dr. Molarity & etc are unknown to return.
And 10. Some returning characters from Darkwing Duck like the Muddlefoot Family, Negaduck, Stegmutt & etc. could appear in the show too.

I really wouldn't be shocked if there was a Darkwing Duck show after this and it's him fighting Fowl and Nega Duck. I wonder how they'll do Nega Duck because some of the stuff he did in the old show can't be done today like that time he pretended to be Darkwing and pulled a gun out in a movie theater.
After the incidence with FOWL in St. Canard maybe Darkwing gets a little support from Scrooge if that happens?
If you think about it the gun in the theatre was still in bad taste 30 years ago also. Negaduck is way more creative than that so give it time.
Seeing how the new Ducktales has more sci-fi elements imagine what kind of advanced weaponry Drake could use as Negaduck
Its quite possible they will re-create this portal in a show to get him back. And somehow Negaduck will merge with current corrupted darkwing.

Fantastic. Especially considering we've had so little of Darkwing Duck altogether on Ducktales, great work making use of what footage there's been. I'd definitely watch a Darkwing Duck spin-off.

I loved this so much! I'll admit, I was pissed when I found out Jim wasn't going to voice this new Darkwing. But, Chris is doing a great job. I'm still not used to it, but I think it'll grow on me the more I hear him.
Jim did return however, reprising the role of Negaduck as did Michael Bell, Quackerjack's VA.

All it was missing was you putting the show’s logo over Darkwing’s shoulder. Just a nitpick, but still fantastic.
As hard as they've been going with this, there's no way there isn't a reboot in the works.
The first episode was a test to see how receptive fans would be, the second was a proof of concept.
They've set up too much to bother pretending this isn't a working project. Might be a while before we see it, but I'm pretty confident a Reboot is in the works.
Can't be sure, but I BELIEVE there IS a reboot in the works as a possible Disney+ exclusive. Whether it takes off from where the Ducktales series ended or not, IDK.

Darkwing Duck theme was easily one of my most favorite theme songs as a kid! And I must say I am loving how it’s just like the old! Hopefully they will do right by the show as well!

I'm not entirely sold on the new character design, but the cape animation and shading are perfect for the character. Also, that look of cocky confidence looks great.
Keep him both funny and badass and this can be successfully rebooted.

It's just speculation right now. Though there's a lot of chatter that Disney putting the full episode on TH-cam for free viewing may either be hinting at something or a test of the waters to see whether or not they should.

for a reboot dark wing duck you bring back Jeff and you get dangerous for the first time since it went off the air all those years back and you do it right
To get dangerous for the first time in 28 years means getting Jeff Pescetto back, or if he's unavailable get a guy to match his marks and his particular style.
It does not need Felicia barton who's doing duck tales 2017, this (dark wing duck) is 28 years old and needs its original voice back doing it for fan service
this is a Backdoor Pilot for now, the studio will see how the audience reacts before deciding one way or the other

I like how the 2 episodes gave us an entire theme song. (Together that equals an hour of Darking in DuckTales, the season 3 one was 40 minutes.)

We don't really NEED a Reboot of Gargoyles...it did everything it needed to do, and there's not really room to improve. Hell, even the animation still holds up. Now, doing the spinoffs, on the other hand, is perfectly viable. There were about a half dozen spinoffs planned for Gargoyles, I think most of them had comic runs

It is real, they used clips from the daekwing duck episode of the ducktales reboot and put the theme song over clips from that episode.

Oh the memories... This, Gargoyles and Ducktales were my favorite on the Disney Afternoon, back when their animation was good.
But I'm constantly watching old school darkwing Duck and ducktales i like the original beagal boys and gizmo duck on Disney+
Seeing Darkwing Duck in the Ducktales reboot several times and how he was written makes me wonder why hasn't he got his own reboot yet.
The Ducktales Reboot may have ended 2 years ago but here’s hoping that DW will still eventually get his own show one day.
UPDATE: It recently got confirmed that Point Grey Pictures (Seth Rogen’s company behind Invincible and The Boys) are gonna be working on reboots for BOTH Darkwing Duck and Talespin.

Low key kinda prefer the 2017 Darkwing Duck. And I sincerely hope that if there’s a Darkwing reboot, it uses the version of the cast introduced in Ducktakes. Everyone had such genuine emotions and the stakes felt so much for - pardon the pun - dangerous in this version of Darkwing.

I hope Disney does a reboot/spin-off of this show. This was one of my childhood favorites.
I’m sure they can do it. Just do what Nickelodeon did with the Loud House spinoff: take some crew members from Ducktales and have them build the foundation for the Darkwing Reboot. That way the style will remain consistent.
Also, they should continue Tale Spin!

this is what i was hoping would happen from the remake of ducktales tbh. Now we just need them to make Baloo take over for launchpad in DuckTales so when DarkWing gets canned we get a Tail Spin spin off.

I'm hoping when they make the reboot they do justice to the opening theme they did a good job on the Ducktales new opening so Darkwing deserves the same

The first time ever I discovered Darkwing Duck was in Mickey Mouse comic, on a cool-ass poster where DWD was fighting all of his villains from a skyscraper. When I saw his first appearence in the Duck Tales reboot I recognised the character and somewhere in recomendations found anactual DWD series from the 90's. None-the-less I was in awe and confusion to find such thing exists 😂

I’ve never even seen the original show, but this was still good
I've been watching it recently and I highly recommend it, it still holds up today.
Just one thing, I just watched "Just us, justice" and I think it was out of order. It felt like a season finale, despite being in the middle of the first season and had characters that weren't introduced yet. Just keep that in mind if you do watch it.

Not crazy about the new animation style, I think it's a step backwards, but it looks like the captured the character and the spirit of the original show, and that's what matters.
Ok, I love this theme song just as much as the original one, but I like the visuals in the old one WAY more! They’re just faster and more fitting to the rhythm.

Ehh, this is pretty much the same theme with the exception of DarkWing’s voice and the new DuckTales’ animation content. Just saying.
