    Seems like an ideal wide angle video lens for the a7iv. The a7iv's main drawback in video is its slow FF readout speed, leading to lots of rolling shutter. Its APSC readout speed however is much closer to the a7siii, so having high quality wide angle APSC lenses could work out well for a7iv video shooters

    The best reviewer on TH-cam. I have made several perches bast on your review. And I have never been disappointed. Your add is very seducing keep up the good work pastor

    Thank's a lot for that helpful review.
    1:10 when you said the 11mm maybe one the most intriguing of the 3 lenses, if it's not the most, there 50% chance it's actually the least 😅

    I went into the Sony store, bought the A6700 with the 11mm.
    They asked what other lenses I wanted? "none."

    What do you think about buying Sony 11mm f1.8 vs Sony FE 14mm f1.8?
    Apsc wide vs full frame wide?

  • @BestAudiovisualTricks
    @BestAudiovisualTricks 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    I was thinking about buying the 15mm but I ended up getting the 11mm and the 20mm f/1.8 (even though its a full frame lens). I did so because the build quality of both the 11mm and the 20mm are on par with GM lenses without getting the GM designation by Sony.

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  ปีที่แล้ว

      I wouldn't quite go that far, but I do agree they have nice builds and features.

  • @pixxelpusher

    Would be interested to know how this compares quality wise to the 10-20mm F4 at 11mm?

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      At what aperture? If I compare at F4, they are basically identical

    • @pixxelpusher
      @pixxelpusher 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DustinAbbottTWI Yes that's what I meant as I haven't seen any commentary around it. At F4 the 10-20mm would then be a much more versatile lens than the 11mm, most people stop down anyway for landscapes where this field of view is commonly used.

    Thank you very much for the text review !
    Ultra wide angle Lenses are very difficult to design optically which this one shows, I want only the best performance from Lenses, so this is not for me, I also prefer 14mm in full frame and full frame or larger sensor Camera are better for wide and ultra wide angle Lenses, because it is easier to design wide angle Lenses for larger formats and it is more expected that the Lenses are more expensive. But I am happy to see Sony finally makes better PRIME wide angle Lenses, Thank you Sony !

    Which these ultra wide angle lenses do you suggest for indoor real estate videography in a low light noisy situation with Sony ZV-E10 camera ?
    1. Sony 11mm f.1/8
    2. Samyang 12mm
    3. Rokinon 12mm
    4. Tamron 11-20mm
    5. Viltrox 13mm F1.4

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The Viltrox is perhaps the best here in terms of low distortion. It’s fairly large and heavy, though. I would probably go with the Sony as the most well rounded option on the list.

  • @youuuuuuuuuuutube
    @youuuuuuuuuuutube 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Sony is just using XD motors in ALL their lenses, regardless of them being GM/G or nothing, it's been the case since the end of 2019. According to a Sony slide, those motors also allow the lens to be lighter and more compact, and we know Sony cares about that.

    Fantastic video! I’m very curious out of this or the Viltrox 13mm version 1.4 What would work best for me… TH-cam guitar tutorials in a small bedroom. Would like a nice blur in the background and the camera to be setup quite close. Any help would be great! I have a Sony zv e10 thanks

    • @DustinAbbottTWI
      @DustinAbbottTWI  ปีที่แล้ว

      You probably won't get a lot of background blur with either lens, though the Viltrox will give you a bit more due to a narrower focal length and larger maximum aperture.

    • @RiffsRhythm
      @RiffsRhythm ปีที่แล้ว

      @@DustinAbbottTWI thanks so much for your reply. can I not get much blur because i'm in a small space? You mentioned about barrel distortion not being so great but you can do this in camera so it won't be much of an issue? What would you pick, 11mm 1.8, 15mm 1.4 or the viltrox 13mm 1.4 for my scenario. I would like to take it out and about too for pictures but mainly youtube vids. Thanks again
