- This is a video of my favorite singer Stina Nordenstam from Sweden, where she sings "One for my baby" in the swedish parlament. Quite an odd place to perform on I think. The guy who talks in the beginning is the current monarch of Sweden, King Carl XVI Gustaf.
thanks. rare to see a video of her performing live
Lovely......Stina.....wherefore art thou? Encore!
Wow! Well and truly one of the finest clips on TH-cam.
I have never seen this before, and being Swedish I just have to say the whole setup (the Swedish King opening up for Stina Nordenstam at a gig in the Swedish Parlament...) would even have been quite unbelievable and 'over the top' in a fictional movie.
You simply can not make things like this up, can you? Sometimes reality beat fantasy for sure.
Many thanks for this, Keen Yellow Planet!
Är det du som gjort det suggestiva mästerverket ”Underwater boy”?
how cool Sweedish MPs must be to have Stina! singing one for my baby lol in their parliament! after King Speech! it must be the coolest nation on earth :))
One of the best clips on TH-cam in my opinion. Thankyou.
Wow, this is quite a find! Thanks so much for sharing!
thanks SOOOOOOOOOOO much for sharing this with us!
amo esse clip
Stina consegue me acalmar com essa musica.
é como se ela fosse uma eterna criança e nos presenteasse com sua angelica voz
eu não me canso de ouvir.... amo a Stina.
This is fantastic.
Did I REALLY just watch Stina Nordenstam doing a gig in the Swedish Parliament with all the MPs watching and the King of Sweden playing MC for the night? Jeeezzzz!
No wonder all the people in that country are good looking, they're all made from love, happiness and relaxation.
Now let's try and imagine the same thing here... Adele say, playing a gig in the Houses of Parliament with Cameron, Clegg, Osborne and rest of them watching... After the Queen gives a talk ofcourse... Exactly, you can't!
queen's dead silly. i don't care if this was over a decade ago, you should've known. far out.
wow...so rare - gotta love the internet.
whoaaa
Those eye rolls.
I think that if it would be at EEUU parlament they would have brought Beyoncé and 100 dancers with fire-lights and 1000000 Watts of sound... go Stina! go!
This is from the opening of the Swedish parliament October 1st 1991.
Where is Stina Nordenstam now? Last album was "The World Is Saved". I'm from Brazil and I listened her for the first time in Vangelis album. She sings so girlish very kind to jazz songs. I think she even now can sings jazz so better, but i don't have news above her in anywhere...
yeah, the same thing, also she was working with Yello (i recommend to listen "to the sea", it's really beautiful track) and i also trying to find any news about Stina, but unfortunately - no results. I hope that someday she release new songs, because she so unique Greetings from Kazakhstan!
She makes cushion embroidery now in a small town in Lithuania. That is all I can say.
When was this video taken? I am guessing mid 90's and wouldn't figure her to do something along this past that time frame...
I do love Stina - I own physical copies of all her albums - but at the same time I do think she occasionally sounds like a cat. Very talented, illustrious elegant voice, but occasionally like a super demon cat that somehow learned English.
+TheBluestCrowe I have to admit that I don't much care about her music style in general, and - you're right - she does sound a bit like a mewing cat:) That said, I have fallen in love with Vangelis's song "Ask the Mountains", in which she sounds painfully beautiful, enchanting....
+Eva Malnovicz It changes on each album quite a lot. From Jazzy pop, to acoustic pop, to alternative with fuzzy guitars, to more complex pop music, to orchestral pop (or baroque pop). I would look at tracks like Trainsurfing, the single Dynamite and 125.
1991 or 1992 (its in the speach and he says both...)
Didnt she do another song after?
Trance - lation ..No bodies know ;)
knugen är lite trist.
