She's a doll! She also has a wonderful voice when she talks.. Though, her singing voice is so beautiful I don't think anyone will ever sing as well.

Can't believe I found this interview - so rare for her. I love her uniqueness & that totally different voice. She's as sweet in person as her music. She's nothin like Bjork.

I agree. I don't see the similarity either, unless it's that they are female singers form Europe, but that's about it!

This is indeed rare. . . .you have a better chance of spotting Bigfoot than find Stina in the Media these days.

There actually are fundamental similarities between Stina and Björk. Both of them create highly individualistic music with an experimental edge, far from the norms dictated by commercial pop. Both of them turn their own atypical voices into a front and center feature. And their output is very much infused with a certain Scandinavian introspection and melancholy.

Soon after Christmas is one of my fave all time songs. It is so moving. Love so many of them though and accompanying videos. A unique talent.

Thanks for posting it! I love her music. I know her works for a long time and I've never seen her talking... it's different to see her this way. It's nice. Thanks again.

"And She Closed Her Eyes" is a superb album, a stellar work from Stina with EriK Holmberg, her co- producer. She is very intense and clearly a deeply troubled soul, with great talent. Sadly, for us, who revere her work, it is unlikely that she'll respond to the musical muse again. I, for one, hope that she does. Music, Art and Creativity are, after all, deeply healing and therapeutic for the whole being. If, you chance upon this Stina....Pick up a guitar and tell us all about it!

Well, it's as they say: you either love her or hate her. I think her lyrics are very good and I can't get enough of "Little star". Only thing is that it's pretty hard to hear what she's singing, but once you've read the booklet you understand the song more and I love the jazz influences. I know years ago when my friend played her music for me I didn't quite like her but it changed :)

So much talent such a slim voice, such a beautifull body...i use much of her music in mus chillout mixes...but she has nothing to do with bjørk at all no comparising at all, bjørk needs to scream it out for us to understand stina wispers it.......
i prefer the understatement in that...

@zootsanchez - You must not have paid attention to 'Le Fabuleux Destin d'Amelie Poulain.' Amelie Poulain exhibited quite a lot of antisocial tendencies herself.

Just like her, I also don't see the point of just recreating an album infront of an audience. It's a commercial obligation that music acts tend to conform to, but...why? Unless you're going to be doing someone new and unique each time, there is not point in just repeating yourself for the next handful thousand.

Ok it's been more than 20 years of silence. It's not fair that she keeps her voice all to herself. She refuses to share her genius, writing, and voice with millions of people who love her. I'm sick of it. Will someone in the music industry please find her....... Convince her to perform. Convince her that she is loved all over the world. Make her understand that we want live performances, more music, and especially her voice heard. She is obligated as a great singer to at least do one concert for all her fans. Her fans miss her. Her fans are tired of playing her records over and over. We want live performance and a connection. I'm tired of seeing her fans talk about Stina like she is dead or is a ghost. She is a special vocalist with more talent than more artists today.
Stina is probably living at home sitting in her garden humming to music and thinking about Christmas, lights and happy walks down the road.
Somebody ....., neighbor, or friend please talk on behalf of the millions of fans. Tell her it's time to work. It's time to share your voice.

I like her a lot, I've been listening to her for ages, but she owes you nothing. She makes music because she wants to. If she wants to be alone then leave her alone.

Didn't she come out before Bjork? Stina's first album came out in 91 and I know Bjork was with the Sugarcubes but she wasn't really "popular" until 93 when Debut came out

Bjorks first LP came out in 1977: www.discogs.com/Bj%C3%B6rk-Gu%C3%B0mundsd%C3%B3ttir-Bj%C3%B6rk/master/1870
She had a bunch more after that and she was massive in Iceland in a few different bands before The Sugarcubes.
