I’m 74 years old and only discovered Tim this week (24/06/2022) Tim would be 75 years old if he hadn’t passed so young. I’m in love. Yes - oldies have feelings too !

We recorded this at the Starwood in L.A. mid seventies. I'm on the drumset. Thanks for posting this. I had no idea there was video.

Those were the days. I had a teenage crush on Tim but only saw him 3 times Max’s Kansas City and Schaefer in Central Park twice: were you there?
I saw Jeff more than a dozen and we shared a beer a few times.

(Russell Buddy Helm) ~Wow! I was so extremely lucky to have seen Tim Buckley perform this song, "Sally Go Round the Roses"~ sometime in the very late 60's or early 70's in Victoria BC ~& it was a transforming experience Maybe you were playing that evening, i wonder? It was at the MacPherson Playhouse, I'm pretty sure

Just the damn best. Listened to him since 1968. Help me, miss him terribly. But the groove in this performance...well burn me up.

This is such an imaginative and daring interpretation of this haunting song from The Jaynettes. He lives the music so deeply, with passion and amazing control of his rich voice. I am so glad to have found this. Thank you.

My god, I have pretty much every scrap of Tim on vinyl and post-humous cds and have watched all of his videos but I have never seen this clip. This shows everything, his virtuousity on the 12-string guitar, his vocal range and intensity, and his utterly wild passion. Live performance at this level is rare and anyone who witnessed something like this should consider themselves fortunate indeed. My first concert was Johnny Winter at Madison Square Garden on 1 June 1974. Johnny was a force of nature live at that point in time, with so much burning intensity, I feel that level of joy in watching clips like this. So sad I never got to see Tim live.

I first became aware of Tim Buckley while I was in Vietnam. I heard more of him while I was a street musician. Then I went through another phase where I started chasing down music he did. I bought many CDs of his. I don't know if you can get them as mp3s now.

I saw Tim perform at a club called The Trauma in Philadelphia at least 3 times. He was a favorite of mine and my bandmates when we were in high school during '66-'67. An amazing voice, a Guild 12-string almost as big as he was, and solid accompaniment from Lee Underwood and Carter 'C.C.' Collins, he always had a great show. The Trauma eventually closed; the Electric Factory opened. Being a larger venue, bigger acts were brought in (Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Butterfield, etc.). Life intervened. I never saw him after that, and then he died. A huge talent cut down in his prime. Play 'Song to the Siren" for your gf, but be warned - she may get wet.

Growing up outside Philadelphia, I well recall the Electric Factory (best show: Vanilla Fudge; weirdest show: Mandrake Memorial). Also the Main Point in Bryn Mawr.

This is not my favorite Buckley period - but this an amazing performance! He could still do it!!! He wasn't as washed up as some people claim!
It's such a shame that he died because of sheer obstinacy! His dealer friend said: "Tim, don't snort this shit on the kitchen counter!" Being ever the contrarian Tim snorted the whole batch of heroin because he believed it was coke! And just like that he was gone! Such a pity.

@@clivealcock, I have researched, how and why Tim Buckley died. There are indeed different stories told by different persons. And since Tim isn't around anymore, he can't verify anything which has beed said. The investigation excluded murder and suicide and settled on accidental overdose.
