Anybody know who the drummer was?
Thousandth like😊
Always with a 12 string, acoustic and electric. The irony is I discovered Tim Buckley through his son Jeff. But strangely Jeff did very little, I think just one album and some bootleg. Tim, however, left a treasure trove of work that went through all kinds of changes. He was the Beatles all in one person. It seems there is is nothing he could not do.
Was going to see them in Cardiff but things got in my way, seeing this favourite being performed live means I'm going to have to do a bit travel to catch them
Their best original song (and that's saying something). They slow it down here, but it still has impact.
Love Tim Buckley. Discovered him in the 70's at university. A true musician. Love Greetings from LA. Still have all his albums on vinyl.
One on one
Wow, thanks for posting. I didn't know Jeff covered this. One of my faves ...The Jaynettes. Northern Soul nights was where I first heard it in the UK.
Someone give this to Peter Jackson so he can digitally remaster it
How can this song in 10 years get 60k views and justin bieber millions???
Thanks for this new video for me from Tim Buckley
Stupendo!!🌹❤️
Волшебный Тим Бакли💖
Just the damn best. Listened to him since 1968. Help me, miss him terribly. But the groove in this performance...well burn me up.
Brilliant love the man
I’m 74 years old and only discovered Tim this week (24/06/2022) Tim would be 75 years old if he hadn’t passed so young. I’m in love. Yes - oldies have feelings too !
I’m in love.
This is incredible! Thank you for sharing.
This is such an imaginative and daring interpretation of this haunting song from The Jaynettes. He lives the music so deeply, with passion and amazing control of his rich voice. I am so glad to have found this. Thank you.
Tim is credited as the writer on the original LP. I found that odd.
Could he possibly have destroyed a better song?
My god, I have pretty much every scrap of Tim on vinyl and post-humous cds and have watched all of his videos but I have never seen this clip. This shows everything, his virtuousity on the 12-string guitar, his vocal range and intensity, and his utterly wild passion. Live performance at this level is rare and anyone who witnessed something like this should consider themselves fortunate indeed. My first concert was Johnny Winter at Madison Square Garden on 1 June 1974. Johnny was a force of nature live at that point in time, with so much burning intensity, I feel that level of joy in watching clips like this. So sad I never got to see Tim live.
Genius
Wow, I cant believe in 2021, where so much has changed in technology, Russell Buddy Helm is part of this conversation. Amazing. Respect to you sir.
Is that the great Lee Underwood on guitar? I hope so!

There are some more excellent versions of this strange song: The Great Society with Grace Slick on vocals, Pentangle, and Donna Gaines aka Donna Summer!
Hey Christian - I have been searching for Starwood footage for years, do you have any idea if only this song was recorded? The entire set is astonishingly good but i only have an audio recording.
and on this one, his voice is so sure and powerful
This is not my favorite Buckley period - but this an amazing performance! He could still do it!!! He wasn't as washed up as some people claim! It's such a shame that he died because of sheer obstinacy! His dealer friend said: "Tim, don't snort this shit on the kitchen counter!" Being ever the contrarian Tim snorted the whole batch of heroin because he believed it was coke! And just like that he was gone! Such a pity.
@@clivealcock, I have researched, how and why Tim Buckley died. There are indeed different stories told by different persons. And since Tim isn't around anymore, he can't verify anything which has beed said. The investigation excluded murder and suicide and settled on accidental overdose.
The ENd ???!!!
What a gem. Thank you!
Such a sexy song!
BUCKING FRILLIANT!!!!!:)HI BUDDY HELM!!!:)
Thank you!
Hi! Thanks
I first became aware of Tim Buckley while I was in Vietnam. I heard more of him while I was a street musician. Then I went through another phase where I started chasing down music he did. I bought many CDs of his. I don't know if you can get them as mp3s now.
We recorded this at the Starwood in L.A. mid seventies. I'm on the drumset. Thanks for posting this. I had no idea there was video.
Amazing ! Here in Brazil Tim is a cult hero.
@@eduardomota2429 You Brazilians got it going on compared to us Germans, culturally speaking..
Those were the days. I had a teenage crush on Tim but only saw him 3 times Max’s Kansas City and Schaefer in Central Park twice: were you there? I saw Jeff more than a dozen and we shared a beer a few times.
(Russell Buddy Helm) ~Wow! I was so extremely lucky to have seen Tim Buckley perform this song, "Sally Go Round the Roses"~ sometime in the very late 60's or early 70's in Victoria BC ~& it was a transforming experience Maybe you were playing that evening, i wonder? It was at the MacPherson Playhouse, I'm pretty sure
@@patriciasoebagio1035 Those were fun gigs. Beautiful Island.
que de beau souvenir
Groovy
incredible voice and not afraid to sing about deeper passions ,especially his later albums, greetings from la for instance or lorca, sefronia another amazing song and so so passion filled ,love it.try danny o'keefe another voice from the heart
I saw Tim perform at a club called The Trauma in Philadelphia at least 3 times. He was a favorite of mine and my bandmates when we were in high school during '66-'67. An amazing voice, a Guild 12-string almost as big as he was, and solid accompaniment from Lee Underwood and Carter 'C.C.' Collins, he always had a great show. The Trauma eventually closed; the Electric Factory opened. Being a larger venue, bigger acts were brought in (Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Paul Butterfield, etc.). Life intervened. I never saw him after that, and then he died. A huge talent cut down in his prime. Play 'Song to the Siren" for your gf, but be warned - she may get wet.
Growing up outside Philadelphia, I well recall the Electric Factory (best show: Vanilla Fudge; weirdest show: Mandrake Memorial). Also the Main Point in Bryn Mawr.
great version
Lost my virginity a dozen times to this, Get on top of me..... With Safronia on all the turntable on repeat all night, trippin on Haze She could never walk properly the next day.
My God, even after 20 years of searching for rare Tim, new things can be found.
Do u have any idea which concert this is from? Its not Starwood 75 as the conversation/introduction is different
one of my favorite singers and song
you just don't get any better than this
Sure as hell true!
Great performance. The song and the way he does it are the best.
Is there any more of this show? The whole thing?? It's my favorite Tim Buckley period.
