They only released one fan-frickin-tastic album! "Disconnected" but I'm not surprised its not on Apple music. They were pretty young and didn't stay together as a band very long.
Bass line goes hard as fuck! Got my first 5 string and it’s the first song I’m learning. What a legendary song. Maybe not iconic in a cultural context, but it’s iconic to me!
What a sick song, recently discovered this treasure of a band, even though I'd heard Adema for some strange reason this one went under my radar, the last part really pump me up!
I see many in the comments comparing Jeff Gutt to Chester Bennington. It goes even further back than most know. I got this info from another YT comment so not sure if it's 100% true. Anyway Dry Cell and Linkin Park were signed to the same label at the same time.Legend has it that LP were promoted more with a massive marketing budget and DC weren't. They chose LP over DC. Apparently some of the band members were pissed at this and made illegal copies of their album which they sold. And thus they became blacklisted in the indusrty. Jeff went his own way but it was tough with only small gigs. Then XFactor. Then a couple more bands before STP found him.
The singer, Scetster Stappington, used his final wish from a genie he acquired to distill 2001 into liquid form. He drank that and this song came out the next day.
Your music is amazing man. Love the raw, the real. Stay true to YOUR music and never change a thing. It’s amazing work. I asked my brothers if they were down to do a post core cover of this soon, so you might be hearing from us! Keep up the amazing work man!
I don’t remember how many years ago it was, but my Father had a friend down here in Georgia who loved music and continues to produce named Gary. Anyway, long story short, he gave me this bands “Album Advance many moons ago when I was super into nu-metal in the early 2000’s, and promise me, I’d put Dry Cell’s “Disconnected” up against Linkin Park’s “Hybrid Theory” any day. I know they’re fighting words, but this CD was sooo good..!!!
I was really thinking this band would take off. Never got to buy a cd cause i couldn't find it when i was a kid. But QotD soundtrack was pretty good at the time. Some of the songs i used to like make me cringe now, but i will never be ashamed for things I liked!
This is one of the great tracks from the Queen of the Damned Soundtrack, if I recall correctly. Looking forward to seeing him sing with STP this September in Toronto!
Favorite song on planet earth, the way the found these guys was I looked up similar bands to earshot, and they popped up and now I listen to them, listen to the disconnected album, it is good, at 1st I thought it was garbage, but listen to it
@J0nesGal I agree with you except for Screamo. That wasn't even a genre until like 6 years ago. Linkin Park had subtle Hardcore influences, more appropriately East Coast Hardcore such as Hatebreed and Suicidal Tendencies. Dry Cell though is not just rock, they have some programming and even some reggae drum beats. Those are both characteristics of Nu Metal which Dry Cell and Linkin Park are.
@umbergod It's also the same singer on both versions you have. Jeff Gutt. Dave Waiserski, (Dry Cell's other vocalist), doesn't have any released material with him on it, AFAIK. There's around 8 versions of this song: Music Video, QOTD Soundtrack, Impur Demo, Album version, Japan album import version, Advance version, Dry Cell sampler version, and the Madden version.
I fucking love this song. Literally the most 2000s hard song ever. Always liked this sound. Fuck the haters and fuck the record company for not making Dry Cell stars
I don't know this song from the Queen of the Damned and honestly don't remember too much about that movie except how much I really didn't like it. However I do remember this song from the movie Grind and that really left an impression on me I will never forget!!!
Early 2000s had best nu metal & alternative metal bands from back in the day and Dry Cell is one of them man this band is underrated and awesome ,
do they even have any other good songs?… i can’t find any on Apple Music
Every band you call NU Metal, absolutely hates it
@@MoonmanSpacejam what genre would you use to label them?
They only released one fan-frickin-tastic album! "Disconnected" but I'm not surprised its not on Apple music. They were pretty young and didn't stay together as a band very long.
This dude has the absolute best qualities of Scott Weiland and Chester Bennington. So happy STP picked him
Good observation!!! Although talented, I’d much rather listen to this dude than chester bennington in STP
dude what is STP? thx

Yeah except the album they did with this singer was balls. Wasn’t Jeff’s fault, just the songs weren’t there imo. Such a watered down mediocre album
Sad this band never got what they deserved so talented to me anyways love em
Well fortunately the lead singer managed to find great success.
@@Channeleven2345789 the singer is in Stone Temple Pilots now

Goosebumps. Every time. Madden 03. I still play it 20 years later.
Dang I wish I still had a computer that ran Madden 03!
I remember hearing this song on Madden 2003 on the PS2 back in the day, which U played a lot. 1 of the better songs in the game.
This bass line alone deserves an award. I love the structure and the artistic side of the song.
Bass line goes hard as fuck! Got my first 5 string and it’s the first song I’m learning. What a legendary song. Maybe not iconic in a cultural context, but it’s iconic to me!
Dry cell 2022! Still kicking ass! So fucking underrated

Descobri ela recentemente banda sensacional tô ouvindo ela todo dia
Jeff Gutt is a helluva vocalist! And now look at him!!
and the fucker doesn't even need some kind of voice modifier, very talented
:D
Jeff Gutt kinda sounds like Chester Bennington to me and I like it. And still can't believe both were STP vocalists
I agree
One sounded better and other made STP in LP
and now Jeff is in STP, damn i would love STP to let him sing some dry cell songs.
And finally release “Disconnected” if he or the other band members of Dry Cell ask Warner Bros. for its licensing back or something.
Kretz recently said the new STP album is going to be heavy as fuck so maybe Jeff will get to cut loose again

Have you ever heard Sick Speed? Just as good.

In this song Jeff gutt sounds like a hybrid of Jonathan Davis from korn and Alex band from the calling.
Nu-Metalfan 23 Chester from linkin park and mark from adema too.
I don't get where you hear Jonathan Davis in this
He reminds me of Adema's vocalist.
They were dropped because he sounded exactly like Chester Bennington lol and this band was a much crappier version of Linkin Park
Replace Jonathan with Fred Durst outside of the Chorus and you’d be right
The SINGLE most underrated band in the last 2 decades.... Their music is still burns down in this day and age...
My favorite NU Metal Album came from this band. So sad they disbanded😢
