Hi! I just picked up an XS400 engine as well. Do you have step by step instructions on how to assemble the engine? I am very new to this lol... Great video by the way!
@@KarimGabra that's intense how did you restore the engine parts? I'm broken down to the starter clutch and clutch basket and debating a total disassemble watching you put it together like that just wow man
@@dirtbagthings Jason I have zero engine building skills just the right tools, the manual & the parts. I do not recommend opening the case unless you know are committed to make it happen. Took me 2 used crankshafts & rod set, new rings, new rod bearings and gaskets. Now runs like a champ if you need any help I can walk you through it
@@KarimGabra that's awesome yeah I'm hesitant about passing that point of no return and commiting to pulling it apart like that. Wondering if there is an easy way to just clean the engine up without taking it that far apart and having stuff stripped and powder coated or sealed
@@dirtbagthings Pulling it out to clean it is easy . my plan was to paint it but fitting the engine back in the frame would scratch the hell out of any paint as it s a tight fit. My plan was to wrinkle finish paint it hides the blemishes
