I really love how the city is starting to take shape! But I have to say the way you’re putting the videos together is truly amazing. I’m feeling really inspired after watching this!
You could add some civil rights-inspired street art on the base of the university offices, where it's just a bare concrete wall. Loving this series so far!
Eckhart? Man this man shows up everywhere. Love the series hugely!! Worked in the Dakotas for years, including 911 for a reservation and everything about this reminds me of Spearfish / Sturgis
Wow I never knew the game could look so realistic, its really fascinating seeing so many real assets incorporated so well into a build. Just subscribed
Amazing build yet again, loving this series. If you are wanting a break from buildings and town building I'd like to suggest a festival using the concert stage out in the forest. I think you could tell a good story with lots of details.
this is a really great city! This is also one of the first series that has actually kept me interested in a ling while, the lore, the build it self, and the dedication put into this series is phenomenal! I'd love to see a St. Louis inspired city in the future :D love from St. Louis!
Hey everyone, and welcome back to another episode of Cities: Skylines: Dakota Falls. In today's episode, we're gonna be taking the train back to Rock Springs to complete the downtown and start detailing the city. I'll also be creating some new and unique districts and neighborhoods, as well as establishing some new brands and companies that will help bring the city to life. Later, I'll be building the judicial courthouse for Wahatoya County, helping signify Rock Springs as the judicial seat of the area. I'll be showcasing some great assets in the new distillery district, and bringing the streets to life with some custom road names and signs, along with some custom billboards to go along with the new brands and companies that were made for the build. To kick off today's episode, we're heading into downtown to build a historic cemetery next to the church, recommended in the comments of a previous video by a fellow TH-camr and Cities: Skylines fan, EckhartsLadder. I'm a big fan of reading all the comments y'all leave below whenever I post these videos, and I do really try to incorporate any feedback that I think makes sense or that I think will make the series more enjoyable, so definitely please keep leaving comments below and suggestions for the build. Not only does it help my channel, but your suggestions could very likely make it into a future episode. Downtown Rock Springs is also where you'll find a bustling entertainment and nightwave district known as the Distillery District. With half a dozen restaurants and three distilleries on just three short blocks. I based this area loosely off East 4th Street in Cleveland, Ohio, (Cleveland mentioned!!!) but I didn't make it a pedestrian street because the main street in the city was already pedestrianized, and let's be honest, having one single fully pedestrianized street in an American city is blessing. Two is just kind of unheard of. But it's possible in the future a new mayor may come along and embrace more road diets, removing cars from select streets in Rock Springs and leading to a more walkable city. In the last episode, I asked for feedback in the comments, if I should go with the PL42 AC locomotive for my commuter rail in Dakota Falls, or if I should go with electrified rail, like the Silverliner 4s, which are pretty similar to the Silverliner 5s seen in RTD for Denver. I got a lot of great feedback from that question, and I actually decided to switch things up a bit, and I decided for the commuter rail going out into the mountains to actually go with the F40PH locomotive, and while I was researching the F40PH in Colorado, I was really inspired by these Rio Grande Ski Trains that used to take people from Union Station in Denver all the way out to the mountains, and I just thought was a really cool concept, even though it's no longer in service, I thought that going with a livery design that was somewhat reminiscent of this would be really cool for the uh, the Dakota Falls series in the future. I also plan to still continue with electrified commuter rail later on, a sort of interurban style that you'd maybe see, like in the South shore line in Chicago, or even similar to what you see in the RTD in Denver, but a little bit more of an extensive network in the suburbs of Dakota Falls, so stay tuned for more about that later.
You keep surprising me with how amazing you keep coming up with really great design and detailing ideas. This series has become one of my most favorite series from you. Thank you for sharing your videos and talent with us.
amazing job as always. Love how you worked with the terrain. Definitely gave me a few ideas to try on my own city. Although, I will freely admit that your use of PO is hard for me to replicate. you are much better at it than me. lol I would love to see a sports complex in the future. Or if you wanted to get crazy… potentially even an air force base. Or army training base. That would be cool to try and give so many opportunities to do interesting builds out in the terrain.
The idea for the distillery district reminds me of one of my favorite spots in San Antonio: The Pearl Brewery It’s an old massive brewery complex that was converted to upscale dining, a nice hotel, and some related mixed-use apartment buildings all in a pedestrianized area. One of those neat examples of ex-industrial redevelopment, you should check it out on maps for some ideas maybe?
Electric Mountain, now widely known as "E-Mount", started in the mid-1980s as a small regional electronics retailer in Jackson, catering to outdoor enthusiasts with rugged, durable tech designed for remote and mountainous areas. The name "Electric Mountain" reflected its niche focus on merging technology with adventure. However, as consumer electronics became mainstream, the company broadened its offerings to include home entertainment systems, personal computers, and everyday gadgets. By the early 2000s, E-Mount had streamlined its name and branding to appeal to a wider audience. Today, E-Mount has grown into a national chain, rivaling the biggest names in consumer electronics.
Congratulations I’m impressed. I’ll give you 30 out of 30. You made a great job making that beautiful downtown. I’m so impressive. I love this video. I’m happy to hit on this one.❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤
Amazing episode on Rock Spring's downtown, it's become pretty dang dynamic with all of the height and terrain differences throughout, and plus your detailing for the area looks amazing. I'll admit that the land behind the AMC theater looks a bit too empty for me, will anything be done to it in the upcoming episodes? Regardless what has been built still looks incredible, and the new service vehicles just look amazing.
Wonderful! I was looking at Google Earth the other day, and I saw the outlets in Loveland CO, basically a bunch of designer outlets right off the interstate next to a huge Scheels store. Idk, seems perfect for Rock Springs...
You too can throw away your life and do this day in and day out. What a life. Nice city and having played the game, I understand the time investment you have given to it.
Live in a historical town (pop 20k, town is from 1870's) and we have several pedestrian "roads" (blocked from cars, and have attached plazas). Prior to our crime waves over the last decade, was very lively
Would be nice to see the blank space next to the university office on Exkhart/Main turned into a plaza with shops at the lower level instead of the large blank concrete walls
You're one of the best inspiration for city building and I love the idea of these story about these brands Rockford springs. Do you have a suggestion is suggestion of a home improvement retailer like like a Lowe's type of hardware store. What name is suggestion as replacing that name Lowe's with Lane's Home Improvement store.
night lights infront of the courthouse.. and the city hall....some seats with garbage cans, and some hotdog stands on both locations. a very large size water tower with DF Brawlers flag (highschool football team)

Real Nice, But the town is missing a long stroad that goes to the sketchy part of the nieghboorhood with strip malls, defunct stores, and higher crime rates
