Stoked that you are continuing this series. It is just too good to end. This episode may be one of my favorites. Pittsburgh really gives me hope for a revitalization of all of the US's smaller cities.
Man i have never seen this god tier modding in cities skylines, Its amazing what you can do with this game, You should sure do what you love because Cities Skylines 2 is not ready for this kind of work!!
What an amazing episode! The shear talent of your builds while also weaving in such interesting narratives that educate us on the City of Pittsburgh is done in such a way that no matter how you play the game these videos are accessible to everyone! Such amazing work Gaseous!
I think that an interesting place to start when thinking about urban transit development in pittsburgh is to go back and look at the extensive urban rail and tram network that used to exist in the city and was largely dismantled in the 1960s (except for the T). That and all of the inclines (funiculars) that are no longer there, such as the Penn incline connecting the Strip District to the Hill, or the Knoxville and Mount Oliver inclines on the South Side.
Love your work. Outstanding detailing. Thanks for continuing with your CS1 projects. It will be quite some time, I feel, before CS2 will be able to offer the ablilty to detail these types of projects. Thanks again.
Honestly at the moment cities skylines 1 is better at the moment (hear me out) all the assets and graphic mods that are in the game make it way more realistic and fun to play then playing a basically vanilla cs2
@@Mojovo292: Most people use mods though. I'm not saying that everyone is on this level of intensive detail and road manipulation, but it's definitely safe to say that more than 20% of modern Cities Skylines players have at least one or two mods installed by now and probably have a few custom buildings in their cities from the workshop. Ignoring that, I personally feel like Cities Skylines 2 is a massive let down: the map is smaller, you need a $4,000 computer to run the damn thing at optimal speeds and graphics plus it's lacking so many features that come stand on CS1 nowadays... in a few years it'll be a better game, but probably for smaller projects due to the minuscule map size.
@@Charles_AnthonyThere’s been potential for a CS2 equivalent to the 81 tiles mod ever since Spiffing Brit proved the untiled, unpurchaseable land around the playable map is rendered and supports buildings. Who knows? We may get 4,000km2 in the future.
I am always a bit delayed on your episodes. I had really fun watching this one. It is a very nice mix out of gameplay with or without commentary and having a look at irl. Thx for your effort!
This video is fantastic! honestly, I'm going to do like you for CS1 because I'm very attached to my Hexagon series and I'm going to start Lyon 1:1 soon
Damn the graphics look so good. I recently started a series and mine look choppy and bad. Could you please tell me how to achieve this and what are your specs?

Beautiful. I love your graphic settings as well. Can you tell me how is your AA so good, I can never get it this smooth without significant frame drop even on a beast PC?
dynamic resolution set to 400%, among other items helps a lot with that. Please check out my channel for a full graphics guide! it is my most viewed vid :)
You know, I thought of that after the video was done funny enough! But I don’t believe there are many assets similar to the style seen at CMU anyways. I’m happy with how it turned out, so moving on to new builds 😄
@@GaseousStranger Sounds cool, what areas of Pittsburgh does the CS borders allow? I’m wondering if you’ve done West Mifflin or even as far as Moon Township.
@@GaseousStranger I like how CS2 makes it easier and quicker for you to do certain things via gameplay but it takes away the fun of taking hours /months /days to create your perfect city .. creativity never should be rushed ..this is souly for the gameplay on its positive end I’m aware of the negatives but they can be worked around and that has been proven
What are your system specs? Wow! an impressive body of work! I love City simulators, and Pittsburgh is my home. I used to spend hours downtown when my dad worked at PPG Glass division at Gateway Center 2
weren't they planning the ability to transfer maps/cities from CS1 to CS2? so you would be able to continue it, but in the improved CS2 engine whcih hopefully would allow for even more ?
@@GaseousStranger I think it's the plan though unless they found out it's too technically difficult because they have been teasing it, either for full release or maybe a update not long after. But hard to know of you're not part of the Dev team 🤷
@@elementalgolem5498: Maps might be possible, but the basic CS2 map is smaller than CS and it's hard locked at the moment. The actual idea of transferring this type of city is physically impossible due to all the mods, custom assets and everything else.
@@Charles_Anthony yeah I'd assume from a technical standpoint it would port in the vanilla assets and roads etc. Which ofcourse would deem a lot of the city destroyed
Fantastic build as always. Loved the IRL footage. I'm blown away at how much effort goes into these videos. 👏
Thanks a ton! 😄
that building on fire at 30:57 lol "nothing to sww here just carry on 😳"
S/O CPP 🤣 Always something on fire in our cities it seems!

Yeah, CS2 isn't going to be at this level for a long time.
An astounding build. At times I wasn't sure if I was watching a game cinematic or RL footage. Mad props for the whole series.

After re-watching the passageway part of the vid, I could see your reflection in the windows lol. Great video!
Can't wait for the upcoming upgrades and modernization you make for the city.

I am too until they get it more optimized. I have faith they can do it, or hopefully modders can

I get it the infrastructure of CS1 is more developed i also hope you keep up With Rochester project!
Another rust belt-ish city you could try and recreate would be Newark, NJ
Would you ever make a Cleveland series? That’d be so amazing. These cities are sooo good
I’ve considered it a lot! It was actually my third city on the list behind PGH and Rochester. Maybe one day, free time is a big limitation :)
