This is good way to store stuff. I like the idea so much so, I just might have to replicate it in my 53CJ3b. I would add hinges and a hasp or some other way of securing it shut. As for what else to carry - Some basic hand tools, extra belt / hose. Come to think of it, maybe one of hose hand crank flash lights also. If it were me - I'd be tempted to make it look like a repurposed ammo crate and stencil some lettering on it also. Either way, I think its going to come out nicely. I like the brown leather idea for the seat.
ammunition boxes are a nice relatively inexpensive alternative and fit the vintage jeep theme nicely...they come in many sizes and they are weather sealed and clamp tightly shut..you can modify them to add a lock as well..we have a 50cal box bolted to the front passenger fender...it holds a spare quart of oil as well as a three part wheel wrench...we also have a cheap set of double box end wrenches in there as well.
@@temetka center console is an awesome idea..i bet the 50 cal can would fit perfectly between the seats...i moved my ebrake from the dash to between the seats to make it easier to grab in an emergency (stalling up hill etc) so i cant have a center console any more ):
A spare fuel filter and air filter could be handy if you're in muddy/wet areas. That storage box you made was very well done!

I am planning on adding a couple 50 cal cans to my jeep also. First thing I thought of for a vintage feeling center console.

Extra fan belt,couple feet of wire never hurts just an idea 💡

spare points and condenser as well...the new stuff just doesn't seem as reliable as it used to be.
Put lots of Duct tape in there make sure you sand it and stain it the right color first .
