hell yeah I'm building a 06 tacoma with super duty axles right now and bought a set of 14 inch kings off a guy with 200/250 springs this has helped so so much thank you! I appreciate your time!!
Thanks for putting these videos out guys. I’m not a Jeep guy but I’m building a first Gen 4runner using 2.5 Kings with a three link on the front and this is all very useful information to have on hand
Thank you for the info guys!,Im from Australia and love to drive fast on the Beaches and Sand dunes. And just been looking at new suspension for my Isuzu D MAX. for about a week i have been getting overwhelmed with all the different model shocks/Lift kits /spring /models manufacturers out there in the market. I didnt think springs were so important to get right. After watching you two explain how they work im greatful i didnt purchase any setup without thinking of { spring rate /ride hight/ Preload /Rebound!} cheers!
I went with the Tein Damper sport With the EDFC motors installed, and have to say these shocks are amazing and the EDFC pro unit works like a charm. I had to cut the guards to fit the EDFC motors so I think I'm the only one in the world who has fitted these motors to ISUZU D-MAX. These shocks have built in hydraulic bump stops and the EDFC pro unit tunes these shocks on the fly with almost no body roll-on cornering. It's so easy to dial these shocks with the EDFC pro head unit, Nice and soft when rock crawling and then dial them up for driving fast on the beach! Tein Japan were more than happy to give me all the information to fit these motors, as its never been done to Dmax as far as they were aware of. It really did make the process easy with clear communication. So I advise that it's the service and communication as well as quality of the shocks that matters. I contacted a few manufacturers ARB/OLDMAN and other Chinese ones, but only Tein would give me the technical drawings of their shocks to help me fit them.
What i learned about coil over and generic coil spring suspension setup is the advantage of having the ability to preload the springs that one can't do with the factory generic coil spring setuo.
Newbie here. I want to build the smoothest riding golf cart possible. What style suspension will give me the smoothest ride? Is air bag better or worse then coil overs? It most likely will be tube built. It will be electric and about 3 feet longer wheel base than a standard . 5.5ft maximum width do to a tunnel order a road. 4wd and possibly all wheel steering
I need a coilover setup for my 2011 ford ranger. I plan on doing a solid axle swap project with 6" lift. My truck is mainly my daily driver & overland adventure truck. I have 33s, overland rack, winch bumpers, rear spare tire swingout tailgate. Overall, I want comfort on the road, but stable flexibility for off road trail riding & crawling. What length of coilover should I go with of what I looking for my type application?
Besides the rate of the spring, what should be the length of the springs? Is there a specific total length of springs per coilover size ? Should the length of the springs be the same or not?
Typically your coil spring should be the same length as the shock. So if you have a 14" shock, you should have two 14" springs. But as you go to a lower spring rate, some springs are not offered in the longer lengths and you may have to adjust with one spring to be longer and one slightly shorter.
My 2015 rubicon has coilovers on the front and they are 350 top 350 bottom with a center spring of 150. I have smitty built XRC front bumper and smitty built XRC fenders. So heavy stuff. My shocks are 14 inch. I’m trying to get more height but on one side it is at 3.5 inch (passenger) and driver is at 2 inch. Any recommendations?
@@20tea I had to change my coil springs and I took the spring tinder out. This helped and now my preload is at 1.5 inches on both sides instead of right side being 3.5 inches and the left side being 2.5 inches.
Super duty F350? Coil over conversion fabtech. After 5,000 mi Sent the coilovers off to have them rebuilt Not happy. I need a stiffer spring guaranteed. Feels like the front end wants to dip under itself. Any suggestions? Fabtech has no answers. I feel the truck needs to be weighed and the proper springs bought it is a "street King"
I have a 2011 chevy colorado 2.9L makin some upgrades n of course i bought a set of front coilovers the yellow ones from belltechs... Inwas looking to get QA1's with another set of spring rates that make them more comfortable but didn't know how to get the weight so i was thinking that maybe from 350 to 450 not to stiff. But u're talking about off-road brands

Any updates on how you corrected the difference in height?

I bought a Rock crawler and the previous owner put another slider so now it has 3 sets of springs how bad is it lol
