Hello everyone, MT here with the usual trainspotting action. Since Avanti West Coast took over the West Coast Mainline franchise from 8th Dec, they got straight of adding their new livery to their pendolino fleet. Therefore, I thought of popping out to any of the station along the WCML to try and capture some. Here at Preston railway station, only one of the pendolinos that appeared within my hours’ time there was in the new livery but it was enough when seeing all the other traffic there including the Northern Belle. Hope you all enjoy this!
Trains include: Avanti West Coast Voyagers & Pendolinos including 390156 in new livery, Transpennine Express 350’s, Northern 156, 158’s, 195’s, 319’s & 331’s, DB Cargo 90’s and West Coast Railways 57’s hauling the Northern Belle

Will miss the Voyagers once the Hitachi stock goes in. Any ideas on what ops will be getting them. And if its true that the 319s will be shifted off ?
Personally, I suspect the 221s might go to GWR, XC or ScotRail, to replace current short-formed HST sets.
Voyagers are crap. They were crap new and they are crap now and they still run 4 car voyagers on cross country between Aberdeen and Plymouth. Even on Avanti they run 5 car units between London and Holyhead. I honestly don't know why theyve lasted so long.

It always annoys me when the 195s leave a station. It's a reminder that CAF were so determined to cut costs that they stuck a fucking bus gearbox on a train. I thought the Civity was meant to be a REPLACEMENT for the busbodies, not a glorified replica?

Your wrong there, VIRGIN TRAINS EAST COAST was replaced by LNER. VIRGIN TRAINS have been replaced by AVANTI. Both VIRGIN East coast and virgin trains served different areas of the UK
