I loved cameos so much, I had a ring custom made. Very few stores sold them, so I went to a jeweler and selected the cameo shell (picture), then chose an elaborate, Victorian setting in 14 kt gold. That was my graduation gift to myself in 1993. It still looks amazing and I wear if often.

Dr. Lori:
I wanted to thank you for explaining the jewelry mark of PD, Palladium,
on Wedding rings. I recently was in a local thrift store where I found a wedding ring with the PD marking that was in the $4 costume jewelry
Tray. The sales person mentioned since the ring did no appear to be silver or gold and that the 24 small diamonds appeared to be marginal, they displayed they valued the ring at a costume jewelry piece. I tested the in my studio and quickly determined the ring was in fact palladium. All 24 diamonds tested positive.
So glad I took notes on you Palladium class!
