I am a Christian and I had a slight problem with a dress I had. Cotton, long, with long sleeves, but slightly see through. A friend suggested an orthodox Jewish clothing store for a slip, and they were completely wonderful to me. I had the dress with me, and they found the perfect cotton slip. Thank you to the community for helping me.
@Annacolleen Etters If you sew, a slip would be a very easy garment to make. I used to wear dresses all the time (I’m not religious but I do enjoy dressing more modestly) and started sewing because I wasn’t happy with everything being polyester and staticky. Nothing bothered me more than my skirts sticking to my legs.
I am a Christian woman also. 64 years old, I would LOVE to shop there. The designs are beautiful, and I would feel appropriately dressed for my age. Sometimes, I am shocked to see what some women, teenagers, wear in church. My mother would never allow us in church with some of the clothes teenagers wear at services.
Slips used to be a common undergarment in general, but they've become SO hard to find in recent years. I would never have thought to look for a Jewish clothing store to find one.
I’m a devout catholic but have been binging your videos since they randomly came up into my algorithm. I love your content and your devotion to your beliefs! ❤️
I’m Catholic and was a nun for several years - always covered my head and wore modest clothing. Now that I am no longer a nun, I still find myself preferring modest clothing - and love what you say about it helping you feel safe and allows your inner self to come out. That’s similar for me, too. ❤️
Wow, that's fascinating - but I know what you mean, I have always dressed modestly. It comes naturally to us women to want to be covered up and behave decently.
I am also a Christian (Catholic convert) but have always dressed what you call modestly. Due to health conditions it protects me. I live in a mixed neighbourhood of Christians, Sikhs, Hindus, Rastas and Muslims and we all dress modestly. As you say we are all strong women who feel safe in our own skins. We are not oppressed. Anybody else wearing the same clothes would be called fashionable.
My huge family was very modestly dressed. That was 60 years ago and most of them are gone now. I never felt comfortable dressed like "other women" but often found perfect clothes at the thrift stores - now I know the source for the modest clothes I have always preferred. I need to hunt down the nearest kosher clothing store....
I can't say I know why TH-cam started recommending your channel to me, but I am enjoying the cultural education you're providing. Thank you for what you're doing here. I'm learning a lot and I genuinely do appreciate your videos!
I love that you pointed out modesty isn’t just about clothing, but also being in control and acting with dignity and reverence. Beautifully said! Thank you for sharing your beauty, reverence and dignity with us and the world. I do agree, I love feeling protected. ❣️❣️❣️
That´s a nice take. There were not many clothes in that store I would pick, but I can mention what I like the most: 8:49. It´s a bathing suit, but I would just wear it as a t-shirt or a dress. I am a non-religious person, but I always dress modestly out of preference, so I can certainly relate to that.
As a Christian, I dress modestly, but consider pants to be appropriate. Having worn them all my life, I couldn't do physical tasks comfortably in a dress. I love that you have a platform to share this outlook.
I'd like to see young women dress more modestly. I'm Christian and was raised to be modest about my body. There should be more options for modest women.
@@GoogleGoogle-fy3cj I agree. I'm also a Christian who was raised to dress modestly, whether it's in dresses and skirts (both of which I love) or pants, which I do wear sometimes. It's so hard in some stores these days to find clothes that cover well without looking frumpy, which is very different from being Frum. I hope I said this right. :) I also agree with you that far too many women these days - younger and middle aged and even older - show off far too much, whether it's how their garments are cut or are too tight. Very little is left to the imagination, and it can make those around them uncomfortable, something that a person of modest spirit would avoid doing.
@@valor101arise not always. Also, if people are going to be checking a woman out from behind, or even in front, they'll do it no matter what she's wearing. I've worn long, loose skirts before that went up past my belly button, topped by a long top that wasn't at all skimpy, covered my arms and everything else, and I still got checked out. So people checking others out happens no matter what a woman's wearing. What a woman's wearing has absolutely nothing to do with that. I usually wear skirts, at least knee length or longer, but sometimes skirts just aren't appropriate because of what I'm doing. Then I wear pants, usually leggings. I always wear a long top over them, though, one that goes down to my thighs. I'm not saying that pants are for every woman - not by any means - but I do think that women have the right to wear pants if they want, and they can be quite tasteful and modest. Sometimes skirts just aren't appropriate or comfortable for certain things. I tried wearing skirts for exercising, and, aside from walking or cycling, if I was on my comfort bike, skirts aren't great for certain things. But this is just my opinion, and if skirts and dresses suit you and you can make them work for you all the time, that truly is a good thing. For me, they're what I usually wear, but sometimes pants just suit a situation. :)
as a muslim i feel very comfortable and secure when I wear my abaya one piece dress and it is very easy for me because i dont need to think about an outfit, i just wear my abaya and my hijab and good to go 😂😂 Love how my dressing as a muslim and yours is nearly the same ❤I learn sooo much about your religion and i see lots of similarities between judaism and islam ❤
This reminds me of a former classmate of mine at university. We had two classes together over two semesters. During the first class she wore simple black abayas every day, so when she dressed in skirts or loose slacks and colorful tops for the second class I was a little surprised. When I complimented her and said I hadn't seen her in those outfits before, she looked confused for a minute and then laughed. She had been pregnant during the first semester, and turns out she wore abayas because she already had them, they still fit, and she didn't want to shop for maternity clothes! 😂 I can definitely see the appeal!
A Muslim friend of mine went to Mecca on Hajj. We met up when she got back to catch up. I found what she told me amusing, not because it was funny but her reaction. She was horrified to discover that the young Saudi girls and young women wore mini skirts, halter tops and all the clothing she knew wasn’t modest under their long black gowns. All the time we were having coffee she kept coming back to this!
DEAREST , HELLO . WHY DOES IT HAVE TO LOOK LIKE " THE LITTLE HOUSE ON THE PRAIRIE CLOTHES " ? I PREFER TO BE NAKED WHEN GOING TO THE BEACH ⛱️🏖️ . YES , I AM JEWISH . GOD CREATED ADAM AND EVE NAKED . CLOTHES ARE A SIGN OF GUILT AND SIN .
I'm not Muslim, but I live in a Muslim country in the Middle East. I love my abaya too because it's just so comfortable and easy. And I feel protected because I'm not standing out conspicuously.
I am so happy you are here : we can create connections and see similarities I think just having these moment of “ hey we are not so different” promotes a better understanding and ultimately promotes peace. thank you to be part of the solution sweet sister
I am not a Jew but a Traditional Catholic and - so - many things you are sharing are things I am trying to observe!! The idea of modesty and the reasons you expressed, resonate with me. I WISH there were stores like this near me! I love feeling protected!!
Same! I am non denominational Christian and I would have no issue dressing modestly for all my days, how comfortable. That store looked like ALL the clothes would be soft and comfortable.
You can usually find the retailer or manufacturer online. Reverse and ORLY are both featured here and available online. Amazon offers ORLY clothing, I know, for sure.
I lost my hair18 years ago due to an autoimmune condition. I wear wigs, not because I am vain, but because I FEEL PROTECTED. Thank you Sara, for everything!
I wear wigs too as I lost most of my hair at age 12. It's better than looking terrible - which I did for many years, and I got mocked, ridiculed and abused for my hair loss! Much better to wear a beautiful wig and look normal.
Please don’t wear wigs, they’re of the demonic realm, made by marine kingdom spirits that use human hair to make wigs for beauty etc. they put you in bondage to jezebel spirit and cause you to loose your soul as item from satanic realm binds you to evil spirit and cause you to go to hell. Please remove it from your wardrobe. Just use head scarf. God wants to be natural in our bodies
My bio hair was always thin but after my second child my thyroid went crazy and I lost a lot. I’ve been wearing wigs for years and it’s FUN! I’m vocal about my wigs and want to let women know you don’t have to suffer.
I don’t dress particularly revealingly but my wardrobe would be immodest by Orthodox standards. I absolutely love that this clothing is available for everyone who wants it and that you’re empowered to choose to dress the way you like. So many of these clothes are extremely cute and I’d love to wear them!
“Strength and dignity are her clothing, And she smiles at the future.” Proverbs 31:25 “Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, But a woman who fears the Lord, she shall be praised.” Proverbs 31:30 I found your channel in 2022. Truly feel as though God led me to it. Sarah, you are a true Proverbs 31 woman. Thank you for sharing your Faith and life with us. Your videos are so edifying and fortifying and you make the world a better place. May the Lord bless you and keep you and your family in 2023.
@@frumitup How beautiful is that?! ♥️. It makes me happy to know that. 🙂 You are very fortunate in your choice of a husband. Thank you for taking the time to reply and making my day. ☺️
I LOVE the idea of clothing being a layer of protection, or a “bubble” of sacred space. That is so beautiful!! Thank you so much for sharing this with us.
I love feeling protected! People are sometimes confused by my wardrobe and my perspective on modesty because a) I'm not religious, and b) I'm an outspoken old-school feminist. We live in a world that expects us -- especially women -- to expose everything about our bodies and our lives, and I prefer to have control over how much people see of me, literally and figuratively. Thank you for this peek into your world, Sara Malka. Always love to hear what you have to say!
I agree with you women are, as you say, expected to expose flesh and their shape to the world. Why? I have never felt comfortable with this , I too am an old school feminist and have found the way women's lives are commented on by the media is irritating. I am just turned 60 and suddenly I am supposed to ( never wear, do or be) now that I am officially an old person. This is more of the same!!! Women should wear whatever they feel comfortable with . I have no religion but feel that modest clothing is, for me how I want to be my true self.
From my experience, being dressed modestly has never kept me safe. The kind of sickos that attack vulnerable women do so regardless of what their victim is wearing. I have always dressed modestly, I cannot imagine running around letting it all hang out - I wouldn't feel comfortable at all! But safe - no, modest dress has never kept me safe. Survivor of lifelong abuse and attacks here.
@@lynnmalpas8124 But you are not old at 60! You are middle aged! If people tell you that you are old then they are as crazy as the people that tell me that I'm old - because here in the UK, once you are 40 you are "old"! Yup, you'll get told to "claim your pension" (which, ironically, cannot be done until age 69 for state pension), you get told you are "old" now, you get told to "forget about finding a husband [if you are unmarried or widowed] and get a pet instead or concentrate on the grandchildren" (grandchildren at 40??? Is this even possible???), doctors will fob every health concern off as "just old age", and another strange one - I constantly get told by doctors that I "must have gout and arthritis", two conditions I have never suffered from and most likely never will given I am slim and vegetarian. Very strange, this new system - suddenly one is now a child until 29, from 30 on middle aged and from 40 on old. Blimey - when is one a young adult then...?
@@LittleKitty22 I am so sorry to hear of your difficult times. You sound like a strong person who has battled with not being treated with the respect you deserve. I hope you have supporting friends and loved ones.
@@LittleKitty22 oh I do agree with you, women are either maiden, mother or crone. In our society the crone is always depicted as woman who has ragged clothing and messy hair and is not really useful anymore. I am proud to be in my crone years as my mother died young and never got to be the grand old lady she, I am sure, would have been. I wear clothes that suit my shape and have grey hair cut in a style that looks good I like to think. We should all be looking forward to being old and wise, and society should be able to cope with powerful older women. Keep buggering on as Churchill said.
I am Christian and I also feel empowered by dressing modestly. What we wear speaks of who we are and can give those around us a positive or negative message. When the Bible says to avoid the appearance of evil, that would certainly include our dress. I love the store you brought to us today. I also wish there was a store like this in my city. Most clothing stores cater to more explicit clothing (too short, too tight and too low cut) so it can be challenging to find modest clothing. I love your channel and what you share with us! Thank you so much!
Yes! I find that shopping in thrift stores offers a much larger selection of modest clothing, at very affordable prices! For the same cost as 'fast fashion' which never hangs right and quickly falls apart, I can get classic pieces made of quality materials, and meant to be worn for a lifetime!
Thank you. I am short and have success so far at 2nd hand places for below the knee skirts, but will keep this in mind. Do you use fabrics that will "breathe " in the Summer. I am trying to figure out stocking issues in the summer. I am a Christian and have looked at the Jewish head coverings and like your ideas the best if I ever go that route. Looks like a great selection for tights. I have had success at Walmart , but will keep you in mind Blessings to you 🙏
In Borough Park, Brooklyn NY I always see siblings wearing the same outfit. Now I understand why. Thank you for explaining that to us. Peace and blessings to you and your family.
As a male who does a lot of reenactment, I can relate to this. My medieval clothes are very modest, and I love it. It has helped me to get a more positive relationship with my own body. I feel protected and comfortable to move around freely, without worrying about anything slipping out of place. For me, it's not even a religious thing...
This is an interesting point. Thanks for sharing this. I’ve been dressing modestly for over 15 years, but I never once considered a man’s perspective on his own modesty. I appreciate what you’ve brought to the table as dialogue!
This is such a cool thing to read! Thank-you for sharing your views on this as a man. It's quite interesting. Usually modesty is talked about only for us females, but it should also be talked about for males as well. Thanks again.
I think your channel is doing so much good for the world. You are so upbeat, positive, and gladly sharing your world with us, I just know it will help break down barriers and encourage love. Thank you 🙏💗
I love the slip layering in the dress and skirts. I tend to wear dresses everyday and the see through material is an issue. They way you explained how modesty made you feel, was beautiful.
I am not Jewish, but loved several of the dresses you showed. I love wearing dresses to my ankles or the floor, they are just more comfortable to me. I had never heard of a kosher clothing store. Thank you for sharing about your faith and all that goes with it.
Wow. I learned so much from this video. I had no idea that modest clothing was required as nightwear / sleepwear. I just assumed married couples and kids didn't have to be modest if alone in the privacy of their own home. Thank you, Sara, for educating us to your culture and beliefs. I love being protected!
Hello my friend and thank you for your kind comment. You are correct that we do not necessarily have to cover ourselves as modestly as we would do in public, but in general to keep the sanctity of the house we do dress modestly, but for example, I would wear my regular PJs pants suits in the house in front of my children because I am fully covered but again I would never ever wear that in public. I hope that it helps and please let me know if you have other questions
@@frumitup When I think back on my childhood, I NEVER saw my parents in their underwear, they were always fully clothed when coming downstairs for breakfast. Now that I am my elderly mother's caregiver .. gulp .. it makes me hesitant to change her diaper and things of that nature .. I am so thankful when the PSW arrives! lol
@@frumitup Hello , Does this or perhaps other clothing stores like this offer mail order ? Would it be possible to give a list of stores in the different states and are non Jewish people allowed to shop as long as they are respectful? I have a terrible time finding clothes that fit as I'm under 5ft tall . Those tights look wonderful! In the 1970s Sears used to offer lovely thick tights in regular knit and cabled in many colors. Basic cardigan sweaters too . I happened to see a beautiful heavy white cardigan in a thrift store several months ago and that sweater was almost as good as new considering it was for a child ! What a shame most clothing is such poor quality and so ugly these days. Thankyou for sharing different aspects of your life with us 🌻
I am not religious at all, but I prefer to be more covered up when I get dressed. I feel more comfortable that way! Thank you for sharing your culture with us, it's beautiful and fascinating to learn about. Happy new year to you and your family! 🎆
I am not Jewish, but I am Catholic, and while there is no set rule for modesty for me, what you said about wearing modest clothing and feeling safe and protected really resonated with me. As a married woman I have found myself wanting more and more to dress modestly to set a good example for my future children. I also just really love wearing long skirts, I think they are really pretty and fun. Thank you for sharing these videos and looks into your life!
I'll admit, I cannot dress particularly modestly because I have a chronic illness that makes it difficult for me to regulate my body temperature, but I loved hearing your explanation of the reason for Orthodox modesty and the way observing it makes you feel. I have an outfit that makes me feel protected like that because it holds a special memory for me. My paternal grandmother (who basically raised me after my mom passed) loved fashion and made many clothes for herself and others throughout her life, but I was never very stylish because I was shy with shaky self-esteem. When I was just coming into myself as an adult, I found a sundress with a soft pink and coral floral pattern I loved and a loose knit sweater that matched the petals almost exactly online, but I was really concerned it wouldn't actually look good on me and I'd be made fun of. I decided to take the plunge despite my fears and when they showed up I styled them with leggings and some ankle boots. My grandma was the first person to see me in this outfit. I walked into the kitchen, not even trying to show it off - I think I had gone to get a glass of water - and then she gasped and immediately caught my hand and attention. She asked me if my clothes were the package she'd seen on the porch and when I said yes, she exclaimed how perfectly she thought it suited me, how nice the colors looked on me and how flattering the silhouette was, and told me I should wear more things like this. I had heard her rave about outfits my other cousins have worn through the years, but she had never complimented an outfit I'd put together before. It made me love that outfit and gave me bravery to try out more things. Now, when I miss her dearly or want that little boost to my confidence on a gloomy day, I wear this outfit and it feels like she's given my hand an encouraging squeeze.
That's beautiful. It reminds me when I met my great grandmother. She was blind and frail, but the way she gripped my hand was so special my eyes immediately smarted and I fought hard not to cry. I could feel her happy that I existed. Even now my eyes water.
What a sweet story! I have similar concerns. On an average day, I dress modestly (though perhaps not by Sephardic standards, as my previous religion allows pants). However, I wear a tank top underneath my tops as I need access to my arms, and I'd rather not be standing in my bra by a public sink. There have been days where, despite the visibility of my medical devices or scars, I'll take off my top and continue my errands in my tank top, because I'll get sick from being hot if I didn't. I do feel self-conscious when I do, though.
A couple of my medications and illnesses make me sensitive to heat as well, but I also prefer to dress modestly! Living in canada it's easy for about 6 or 7 months, but in summer it gets dangerously hot, especially in the city (I suspect I live near where Frum it Up lives, too!) I think it's very relative, because even on the hottest days I see many Hasidic/orthodox Jewish people walking around in their typical modest clothes and headcoverings with barely a sweat. My Muslim friend also wears modest clothes and headcoverings and lives her best life in the summer. I think most healthy people can adapt to the climate where they live, it's unfortunately just us outliers who can't learn to deal with the heat!
I love wearing long skirts. Not only do they make me feel empowered and protected (which I love!), but I’ve found that a nice thick skirt is also much warmer in these cold winters than pants :) Thanks for the lovely video, as always, and I hope 2023 is full of health and happiness for you and your family!
I love this video! As a Christian I dress modestly but it seems like most people don't expect that of men as well. The store you showed has so many nice items of clothing! If I had access to a store like that when I first started dressing more modest, I would not have had to resort to sewing my own clothes😂
Sara I am not Jewish but your absolute love for your religion is awe inspiring and your videos so informative, the more we understand each other the better the world will be. Wishing you every good thing for 2023.
this is so interesting, i've never dressed modestly and i don't think i ever will but as a fashion designer it's so nice to know these things, when you're dressing other people you have to think beyond your own preferences and beliefs.
Something that is missing and desperately needed in modern “society” is humility. I love how you said when I dress modestly, I am safe and my inner self can come forth. I agree. Many kids are so messed up today. Hormones drive them. If they only protected the outside and knew how beautiful they are inside, life would be calmer! Well done video!
as one of the kids - i would love to share a little bit with you here! i have had times where i do not dress modestly as it makes me feel like i am shining my brightest and feeling happy and confident. (i feel like myself, so i feel able to best be myself and protect my peace) and then usually as soon as september hits, i begin dressing in my modest (always below knee, never skin tight) winter skirts and sweaters. i have a balance in my life to allow the best parts of me to shine through. i love when people dress in ways that make them feel comfortable and happy, it makes me smile to know that someone is wearing clothes that they love to wear. again, just my own personal life and opinions but i thought it could help for me to share my experience as a younger person.
I had a skirt my mom gave me and it went down to the middle of my calf which made me feel protected and I really liked it I'm so glad you're encouraging others to be modest in their apparel
First time that I was lucky enough to catch a premiere, I live in London where there is a large Orthodox Jewish community and I'm always fascinated by the lives of the ladies. Thank you for this wonderful content ❤
Hi Charlotte thank you so much for being here and I'm so grateful that we were able to be together for the premier and I am also in awe of your dedication to learn more about your neighbours and not simply frown and or perhaps shrug your shoulders and pass them by but on contrary you want to learn more about them and us as orthodox Jewish women and I want to commend you on that it's a beautiful trait and I wish more people had it but I see the more videos I make about the Orthodox community the more people seem to be open to learning more about us so thank you so much for being one of the pioneers
I really love your channel. I have always been curious about the customs and traditions of other cultures and I appreciate that you take the time to teach others about yours. Thank you for sharing with us!
Sarah Malkah, i so enjoy your videos. You put enthusiasm and love into your whole life. Living frum is a joy for you, you bring it all to life. I'm a non Jew, but with a very strong attraction to the frum life. Best to you and your family, and keep the videos coming.❤
I'm not religious at all, but I appreciate how you define modesty. In spite of a lot of misunderstandings around modesty as a whole, it seems that your understanding of it is a bit more universal, even outside of your faith. Thank you for being so wholesome!
Please don not stop making these videos. They are so informative into Jewish tradition from the Torah. Most of the comments are from non Jews and your videos make a huge difference in how Orthodox and hasidic Jews are viewed..
Yes! This is a lovely, illuminating video and has answered so many questions that I've harbored regarding the different communities in my city. Thank you ❤
First time watching . Reform Jewish girl here . Loved all the information . The clothes were beautiful and with meaning and class and respect.. My most interesting part was the swimsuit ! I had no idea .. Enjoyed the learning of the Kosher store .
Slips & shells! What a blessing since good quality ones are practically extinct these days. I definitely understand how modest dress would make one feel protected and empowered. I have a favorite cotton cardigan to wear on days I feel vulnerable since of course I love feeling protected
I love feeling protected! I'm a Muslim revert woman who grew up without religion (or any desire for modesty) and I can say that it's something I can't live without now. I get much less attention wearing modest clothing and I love that about it. Growing up my best friend was Jewish and he inspired me to be interested in traditions, worship and prayer. I have other female friends who were born Jewish and who practice Islam now and one of the many similarities between the 2 religions is modesty 💛💛💛
I love feeling protected HELLO SARAH what a very nice store I wish there was one like that near where I live I loved the black dress with white potatoes dots and pink little flowers thank you for sharing your beautiful viedos with us ❤️ 🥰🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🐝
Dressing modestly seems like a wonderful opportunity to have fun with fabric, pattern and color particularly because the focus stays on these and doesn't drift over into more daring cuts and fit. What fun!💖
Your videos bring me so much comfort! I am not Jewish but I love dressing modestly, at work and when going out, it makes me feel more comfortable and powerful. Have a great day Sara!
While I may differ from you in many ways, I celebrate your faith. It is apparent it gives you joy and peace. You seem like such a sweet human and I have truly enjoyed learning about your culture and beliefs. Thank you for sharing.
While I am not Jewish I so love your view of modesty. I have taught my kids to be modest as well, just a little differently. Thank you for sharing. Happy New Year!
I wish it was easier to find modest clothing in more places, this store is lovely! That top looks beautiful on you, can't wait for the modest dress video!
Thank you so much for sharing these glimpses of your life with us, Sara. You've inspired me and given me so much to think about, even though I'm a Christian. I love how you don't let the world and this so called modern culture define you, but God in His love and wisdom. You encourage me to embrace and seek holiness in every area of life and I'm so grateful God led me to your channel:) May He bless you and your family.
Pentecostal, and this looks very similar to our modest clothing stores. What I found interesting is the nightgowns would be something I would consider dressy enough to wear out and possibly even to church. Who knew! Thank you for sharing!

I love being protected. Half my mother’s side of the family is Jewish, half isn’t. I’m on the isn’t side. However, my children went to Jewish summer school, and loved it. I’m naturally a modest person, so I was excited to see the shells and slips in the store you visited - it’s difficult to find modest clothes in regular stores these days. Most of my clothes qualify as modest (but not kosher, of course). Thanks for this lovely video tour 💖💕 Shalom!
I love feeling protected. Thank you for another wonderful and informative video. I'm a Christian woman who dresses modestly (though I don't follow quite the same rules). It is very freeing and does feel protective. I also agree that it is a great reminder that I am a child of the most high.

'Protected', yes, that is how I feel about my clothing which is also modest. I am a Catholic school teacher and it is sometimes difficult to instill the importance of modesty to my students. Thank you!
What a treat this video was! I have no idea how this video got into my recommendations but I’m happy it did. I have been trying to dress more modestly so it was very nice to get a tour of this store. Thanks so much for sharing ☺️ I love feeling protected😉
Agreed. A place to buy even white clothing that was not see through would be so wonderful. I was wondering if some of the orthodox clothing was available online.

Hi Sara! I’m a brand new subscriber - TH-cam recommended your kosher kitchen video to me recently and I was immediately fascinated. The past couple of days I’ve watched several of your videos and I’m so inspired by your devotion to your faith and following your customs and rituals. I’m a Witch 🌙 and recently began a traditional Year and a Day education as part of joining a coven for the first time. I have homework and activities and exercises to do every day as a part of that. Some days are harder than others, but seeing you follow your faith so strongly and beautifully has really made me feel renewed and empowered on my spiritual journey. Thank you for setting an example. ❤ All that said, I should be getting off TH-cam and get back to my studies! 😊
I have been on a journey that has brought me to to place of complete & joyful surrender to Yahweh through Yeshua… Even though I am neither Orthodox or Muslim, I joyfully appreciate the need for modesty. I actually do feel safe when my head is covered as well as my body. I also feel more feminine when dressed modestly. The world would have us define femininity by our sexuality which is definitely not Torah. Thank you for sharing it is very encouraging to know that myself & many other women are not alone. Toda Raba!
I love feeling protected! ❤ I used to “dress to impress” in college, showing WAY too much. But now I dress modestly and I have so much more self respect. I loved that shirt/blouse on you! Glad you bought it!! You have great taste! ❤😊 Beautiful clothes at that store! I was shocked there are kosher tights!! 😃
Even when I was Christian I dressed modestly! My parents said I was an old soul because I was conservative even as a teen. Thank you for an even further explanation, as I will adopt these also! Blessings and Grace!
My mother was older so we always wore (I still wear) a full slip. I would feel uncomfortable with it a slip. I liked the slip you showed that was white on top and black on the bottom! So smart! I love feeling protected. And I agree - your love is a protection to all of us.
I also have to say that I love that your content has brought Muslims and Catholics together with Jewish faiths. This is what the world truly needs more of. It's truly beautiful
I was very surprised to see how colorful so many of the dresses and swim garments were! I did have an idea everything was only going to be subdued colors. I would love to find more opaque tights to wear under skirts myself! I also love the idea that it encourages someone to be seen for their mind, and their actions, rather than what their body looks like. I love feeling protected! ❤
Also Sara, I just love your sweet spirit. ❤️ It is so wonderful knowing you even if just through this means. I appreciate your time and talents and all you share with each of us about your life, your heart, and your faith. It is a light to us all! ❤️
I had a bad day at work yesterday, I watched the video and at the end where you tell everyone they are loved made me cry, I needed to hear it, thank you
I love feeling protected. Dressing frum/tzinuit I feel most comfortable, most like myself, and proper. I enjoyed the tour of the store. Where I live, we do not have a Jewish/kosher store. I have to travel out of state for what I need. I was in NY recently making purchases for warmer weather.
Thank you so much ! Very informative , as a Christian I find it so Interesting- thank you- you have no idea how much I needed to hear your ending comment ❤️
I am Christian, but I so admire your devotion to God, without the desire,as so many people have,to please other people over our Lord and King. Your modesty is an outward sign of the depth of love and respect you have for God. I think it is beautiful. Shalom.
As a Pentecostal, the definition of modesty you provided is much better than any definition given to me. I grew up Catholic, and so I definitely grew up with a strict sense of modesty. While I have relaxed a bit, I will cover as needed to maintain modesty. The explanation you gave encompassed so much then just wearing clothes. Thank you.
I,too, grew up in a Pentecostal home, but with a Jewish background (long story). My friends tell je I'm attractive and should ",show more",i.e. cleavage! I said,"No,I do t need to. Being modest is freedom!" I have hard time finding modest blouses for larger woman. Thank you!
I love being protected 🤩 The swim wear was something I was curious about. Seems like a lovely shop. If you see this, hope you are having a beautiful day 🏵️❤️
I am not a practicing Jew but I come from a strongly Jewish heritage and I think that commitment to modesty is beautiful. It's like placing treasure in a guarded treasure chest. Well done.
wow this really brought me back to my orthodox chabad childhood. thank you for helping me feel in touch with my roots. your videos are like a warm hug, the smell of havdalah candles, and fresh challah
I am so happy to read that they were helpful. I am happy that all are welcomed there.
Thank you for your great videos. They are very informative.
I am Catholic and I have difficulties find modest clothes for children and myself...
@takohmoolsen : what a lovely and wholesome event !
Modesty, such a forgotten concept. I love the idea of modest dress as protective, not repressive. Thank you for sharing!
But these clothes are hideous!
You can dress modestly and still be chic. These clothes a dull and frumpy
Slips used to be a common undergarment in general, but they've become SO hard to find in recent years. I would never have thought to look for a Jewish clothing store to find one.
Sounds like making your own might be a good option.
My grandmother always wore a slip, with hose.
Have you tried looking online?
SAME!!!
Me too, but I was informed as a postulant that I did not have a vocation to that order.
Thank God for His great mercy!
I love feeling protected.
I can't say I know why TH-cam started recommending your channel to me, but I am enjoying the cultural education you're providing. Thank you for what you're doing here. I'm learning a lot and I genuinely do appreciate your videos!
Aww thank you for being here!
Yes! I have no idea why TH-cam suggested her videos to me, but they're so educational and well made that I find myself clicking still.
@@2bleushadow Same, except TH-cam waited 3 months for me.😊 I love feeling protected, and I can see the connection clearly.
Me too! Just recommended it out of the blue, and now I’m binge watching the channel!
I love that you pointed out modesty isn’t just about clothing, but also being in control and acting with dignity and reverence. Beautifully said! Thank you for sharing your beauty, reverence and dignity with us and the world. I do agree, I love feeling protected. ❣️❣️❣️
I love the dark blue or black dress with the pink flowers
That´s a nice take. There were not many clothes in that store I would pick, but I can mention what I like the most: 8:49. It´s a bathing suit, but I would just wear it as a t-shirt or a dress.
I am a non-religious person, but I always dress modestly out of preference, so I can certainly relate to that.
As a Christian, I dress modestly, but consider pants to be appropriate. Having worn them all my life, I couldn't do physical tasks comfortably in a dress.
I love that you have a platform to share this outlook.
Thank you for being here ❤️
I'd like to see young women dress more modestly.
I also agree with you that far too many women these days - younger and middle aged and even older - show off far too much, whether it's how their garments are cut or are too tight. Very little is left to the imagination, and it can make those around them uncomfortable, something that a person of modest spirit would avoid doing.
I know in the end of the 50ties, a girl or woman only can wear pants, if you wear a dress above it.
I am so happy you are here : we can create connections and see similarities
I think just having these moment of “ hey we are not so different” promotes a better understanding and ultimately promotes peace.
thank you to be part of the solution sweet sister
Yep. Shout out to all Marian modesty sisters 🙌🏼

Your voice was made for narration. Clear, of even volume (and loud enuf, too), and very pleasant in tone and timber. Thanks for the tour!
I don’t dress particularly revealingly but my wardrobe would be immodest by Orthodox standards. I absolutely love that this clothing is available for everyone who wants it and that you’re empowered to choose to dress the way you like. So many of these clothes are extremely cute and I’d love to wear them!

As a muslim women I can relate a lot to your modest clothing and loved the collection.....
I've noticed many things in common between the two when it comes to food and dress.
Google - "modest Jewish clothing for women," this will give you some ideas. 🥰
Yes! I find that shopping in thrift stores offers a much larger selection of modest clothing, at very affordable prices! For the same cost as 'fast fashion' which never hangs right and quickly falls apart, I can get classic pieces made of quality materials, and meant to be worn for a lifetime!
I love thrift stores too!
Definitely agree
I have had success at Walmart , but will keep you in mind
Blessings to you 🙏
In Borough Park, Brooklyn NY I always see siblings wearing the same outfit.
Thank you 🙏💗
Aww thank you KrystyLyly❤️
I really hope it does help put down barriers and stop all the misconceptions 🥰

@@frumitup Hello , Does this or perhaps other clothing stores like this offer mail order ? Would it be possible to give a list of stores in the different states and are non Jewish people allowed to shop as long as they are respectful? As a married woman I have found myself wanting more and more to dress modestly to set a good example for my future children. I also just really love wearing long skirts, I think they are really pretty and fun. Thank you for sharing these videos and looks into your life!
Catholicism worship is demonic. Stop worshipping Mary and bowing to idols, it's Not of God.
Jesus doesn't need a mediator between Himself and humanity
My daughter and I are Christians, and we dress modestly. I wish we had access to a clothing store like this. The clothes are beautiful. I love it .
Thank you for the story about your grandma 💜
@@amabelmercelin3047 I understand you completely. I too take medication and I have to be wary to not get too hot. I love tank tops for that...
Not only do they make me feel empowered and protected (which I love!), but I’ve found that a nice thick skirt is also much warmer in these cold winters than pants :)
Thanks for the lovely video, as always, and I hope 2023 is full of health and happiness for you and your family!
I agree, long skirts rule!
Best wishes as always S ❤️
My experience is that not only are long skirts warmer in winter, they are cooler in summer as well. Greetings from Finland 🙂

I love this video! As a Christian I dress modestly but it seems like most people don't expect that of men as well. The store you showed has so many nice items of clothing! If I had access to a store like that when I first started dressing more modest, I would not have had to resort to sewing my own clothes😂

this is so interesting, i've never dressed modestly and i don't think i ever will but as a fashion designer it's so nice to know these things, when you're dressing other people you have to think beyond your own preferences and beliefs.
I really enjoyed watching your video. I enjoyed learning about modess dressing as I also dress modess.🙋🙏
I'm not Jewish but these clothes are lovely...I love how modesty can be so pretty !
I really liked the black dress with pink flowers and white marks, I would wear that!

Slips & shells! What a blessing since good quality ones are practically extinct these days. I definitely understand how modest dress would make one feel protected and empowered. I have a favorite cotton cardigan to wear on days I feel vulnerable since of course I love feeling protected
hi Nina-Marie!
I love that you have a "feeling protected" go to clothe!
I do to, it is my poncho with pompoms!
I love feeling protected HELLO SARAH what a very nice store I wish there was one like that near where I live I loved the black dress with white potatoes dots and pink little flowers thank you for sharing your beautiful viedos with us ❤️ 🥰🦋🦋🦋🌻🌻🌻🐝
Aww thank you Mary Bee 🐝❤️❤️❤️
Dressing modestly seems like a wonderful opportunity to have fun with fabric, pattern and color particularly because the focus stays on these and doesn't drift over into more daring cuts and fit. What fun!💖
Always I learn new things on your channel!
Your videos bring me so much comfort! I am not Jewish but I love dressing modestly, at work and when going out, it makes me feel more comfortable and powerful. Have a great day Sara!
Yes! I’m sooo excited! Thank you for sharing your world with us Sara. Every video is a joy❤
aww thank you so much sweet Chanelle:)
The store that you visited has a great selection of clothing for everyone. I love the way that you "frum it up" with your head coverings!
While I may differ from you in many ways, I celebrate your faith. It is apparent it gives you joy and peace. You seem like such a sweet human and I have truly enjoyed learning about your culture and beliefs. Thank you for sharing.
I would love shopping there. The dresses are beautiful. I love feeling protected. You are a beautiful soul.
I love feeling protected.
I like the shells! Almost all tops are too low cut for me. Those shells would be awesome to have.
I made my first ever Challah on 26/12 as we were celebrating Christmas and Hannukah together with my cousin's girlfriend who is Jewish so I wanted to create something special for her. It was delicious! I think the algorithm decided to show me Jewish content on TH-cam, so now I am a happy new subscriber to your channel, I am thankful to TH-cam for passing you across my radar! I am a Christian (Protestant) and ordained minister, I am inspired by your devotion to God and your beautiful faith. With love and thanks from the UK!
first and foremost: CONGATUALTIONS for your 1st challah!
you are a wonderful friend:)
Welcome to your new house on TH-cam!
I am so happy you are here !
and i am so looking forward to hear from you soon!
Stay safe and blessed

I agree with you Sara about feeling empowered when you dress and behave modestly 🥰
I love feeling loved and safe. Your you tube is so good! Thank you!
I love feeling protected. Thank you for another wonderful and informative video. I'm a Christian woman who dresses modestly (though I don't follow quite the same rules). It is very freeing and does feel protective. I also agree that it is a great reminder that I am a child of the most high.
I love feeling protected!🥰❤ Thank you so much for such an interesting video. All of the clothes were beautiful, and your daughters are such good models. I hope you have a wonderfully blessed week! 🥰❤🙏
You are so welcome! Thank you so much for being here Karen and as you know I definitely feel safe and cared for when you are around have yourself a beautiful day and a wonderful week filled with blessings laughter and above all great health
'Protected', yes, that is how I feel about my clothing which is also modest. I am a Catholic school teacher and it is sometimes difficult to instill the importance of modesty to my students. Thank you!
Your voice is like a warm hug! I could listen to you all day, and who knows, I just may continue to learn something!
What a treat this video was! I have no idea how this video got into my recommendations but I’m happy it did. I have been trying to dress more modestly so it was very nice to get a tour of this store. Thanks so much for sharing ☺️ I love feeling protected😉
I’m so happy you enjoyed it!
I hope to hear more from you soon!
Stay safe and blessed
I’d honestly love to have a store like that in my town, I’d wear those kinds of outfits.
Agreed. A place to buy even white clothing that was not see through would be so wonderful. I was wondering if some of the orthodox clothing was available online.
@@deejames1st Same question. I always preferred to be covered (perhaps it is generic memory as I was born in Jewish family - however they were not practicing). I hope this store has online options.
Most of the things that were shown in the video are also available online. Just search for modest clothing and you'll be amazed at how much is available.
@@An_Gold there are a few modest options online search Orthodox Jewish clother Or Mormon -- both believe (or stress) modest clothing and people have businesses selling clothing
Isn’t it sad that these kinds of clothes aren’t readily available?I would wear modest dresses every day
All that said, I should be getting off TH-cam and get back to my studies!
Toda Raba!
I love feeling protected. Thank you one again.
I love modest dressing also. Thank you for your video.
Dressing with class (modesty) never goes out of style -- even if the headlines tell you otherwise!
My mother was older so we always wore (I still wear) a full slip. I would feel uncomfortable with it a slip. I liked the slip you showed that was white on top and black on the bottom! So smart! I love feeling protected. And I agree - your love is a protection to all of us.
Awww Dorothy, you are so sweet, thank you ❤️❤️❤️
I wasn't too surprised. I liked the slips and shells and how they provided larger sizes for bigger ladies.
I had a bad day at work yesterday, I watched the video and at the end where you tell everyone they are loved made me cry, I needed to hear it, thank you
My love to you Nanette and I hear you. I've had days like that too. Blessings and know that it will get better, G-d willing. ❤
Awww Nanette, I hope your day was better today sweetie: sending you an immense hug 🤗
Shalom.
Dear Sara can you make a video about set yearly goals .💗
Definitely!!
I love feeling protected. Thank you for sharing your culture. Your reverence for God often reminds me to keep the Lord more conistently on my mind.
Exactly what I'm looking for! Modest calico print dresses. Wish I could shop there
As a Pentecostal, the definition of modesty you provided is much better than any definition given to me.
I grew up Catholic, and so I definitely grew up with a strict sense of modesty. While I have relaxed a bit, I will cover as needed to maintain modesty.
The explanation you gave encompassed so much then just wearing clothes. Thank you.
Awww thank you Kristianna: I am happy the definition of modesty resonated with you ❤️
I,too, grew up in a Pentecostal home, but with a Jewish background (long story).
I'm so glad! Glad you are here! 🥰
