Crochet Star Ornament Tutorial

How to crochet star ornament Christmas decoration step by step tutorial.
The star measures approx. 12 cm (4.7 inches) in diameter.
Materials used:
Sport weight yarn. I used Nako Fiore 25% linen, 35% cotton, 40% bamboo viscose yarn. 5 grams (15 meters approx.) of yarn needed for this pattern.

Abbreviations (US terms):
ch - chain, sp. - space, st. - stitch, sl st. - slip stitch, sc - single crochet, hdc - half double crochet, dc - double crochet, dc2tog - 2 double crochet closed together.
ch3(5)picot - ch3(5), insert your hook into the center of the base stitch, yarn over, pull through all loops on the hook.

If i wanted to make this a large sized one,about 9-12 inches big- is there a way to increase the number of stitches by a multiple or something like that?
