    I know this video is 5 years old, but I’ve never even held a crochet needle before but I wanted to see if it’s something I could learn and this was the most well taught tutorials I’ve watched! It actually made sense and you didn’t lost me once! I look forward to trying this out 😊

    The stars are beautiful....especially adding the button and the bow. A couple of things I had to see again, and again. You were putting 2 so's to begin the 3rd rnd; and slip stitching to the opening between the 3 half dc's. I tried the magic loop and gave up. Thank you for sharing.

    Beautiful! Perhaps on the last row you could go directly to te top hole instead of slip stitching to it

    I LOVE this star. However, I can't seem to get my puff stitch as long as yours. It always ends up just wrapping around and around my crochet hook :( hints? thanks so much for posting the video! It is awesome :)

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hello Mary! I apologize for it taking me so long to reply.
      As you make your stitch you want to pull up the loop to the desired length. ( make them bigger than you want at first for practice)
      Then ( if you are right handed) use your left hand and pinch the first loop at the bottom with your first finger and thumb.
      Then yarn over and make your second loop.
      I hope this helps. Thank you for watching and commenting. 🌸🌸🌸

    Hi. At 5:20 you said that we're gonna go over to the next stitch but you actually skipped one stitch, was that on purpose or by mistake?

  • @Mahle77
    @Mahle77 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice instruction. Thanks.
    Do you spray starch and iron the stars?

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +Mahle77 I did not with mine but I crochet these very tightly.
      You can spray them or dip them in a water glue solution and lay them or pin the flat to dry.
      Thank you for watching and commenting 🌸 🌸

    Your star is really cute. Is there an alternative to the "magic ring"? I just can't seem to master it

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      +kmarie154 thank you so much' yes, you can chain 3 or 4 and sl st to form a ring. Then chain 2 and being the puff stitches. :)
      Thank you for choosing my video! And for commenting.🌸🌸🌸

    Hi,I'm having a horrible time trying to do the magic ring. Any suggestions I'm missing? I tried for a hour n just couldn't make it work. Any help appreciated.

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hi! The magic ring can be a pain. You could try chaining 4 slip stitch to join, chain up three and then start your 5!puff stitches.
      I hope this helps! Thank you for watching! 🌸🌸🌸🌸

    I, wanted to see how she attached the ribbon and button.Nicly done.

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +Carolyn Jordan snip a piece of ribbon as long as you want. Gold in half. Place on the front of the star, grab your button and then sew through the button, ribbon and star.

    Where can I get a pattern for this ? I prefer not using a downloader. Could you send me a link to a plain text of the pattern that you could print. Thanks, Dave

  • @suesellers7970
    @suesellers7970 9 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    How do you start this star if you can't do the magic circle? I can't follow the way you do the magic circle it always falls apart and I just know how to do the slip knot on the chain???????????????????????????????????????????????

    • @JonnaMartinezCrochet
      @JonnaMartinezCrochet  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can chain 3, slip stitch to join. Then chain 3 to begin the puff stitches. All the puff stitches will go into the ring formed by the chain 3 slip stitch.
      I'm sorry the magic ring is not working for you! I will make sure to make it clearer in my next video using it. Thank you for watching! 🌸🌸🌸
