- This video is a owners/Drivers review of Ape E City electric auto in Malayalam. Piaggio Ape launched its electric autorickshaw the Ape e city Electric Auto late December 2019. This rickshaw is 100% electric and has battery swapping technology to save charging time. Ape e city electric version look alike the normal Ape City rickshaw. The ape auto rickshaw is installed with a 5.6 Kw motor and an array of three Lithium Ion batteries of 55 volts each. The Ape E City offers 80km range in full charge. The swapping technology of battery helps to save charging time. The drained battery is replaced with charged batteries from the charging dock fixed at various city centers. The estimated cost per km is Rs. 2.00 and a full charge costs Rs. 159.
