I am happy to inform that since Remote SDR version 2.4 there are images available for the Raspberry Pi 4. I will be experimenting with the latest version (v5.0i_rpi4) soon. Thanks for the great content Matt!
Great information Matt 👍👏👏
This is awesome!
EXCELLENT! Is there a way to output the remote-sdr audio via a virtual cable to DSD? Also, could this run at one location and be accessed remotely from another location? I'm thinking if you had a location with good elevation and in turn connect remotely?
The world of sdr , people who ignore are missing out big time
Very good..
Nice one matey from M0TPT ;)
Cheers David!
Great guide - got it setup on Orange Pi Zero 2 with HackRF One - runs for an hour or more but appears Orange Pi is shutting down, and have to power cycle it - wonder if you have seen this?
Get a more powerful power supply
hi! is there a way to control an external changeover relay in case I want to do iso-frequency traffic and don't want to receive myself?
I wish a major manufacturer would roll out remote capabilities for their rigs even if we need to pay a small subscription.
Most commercial rigs by major manufacturers just aren't capable of this.
This project depends on SDRs that are supported by GNU-Radio
@@BruceFerrell many many HF rigs are using SDRs for their receivers these days
@@RyanHannaProductions yabut... they aren't "exposed" they're core but not externally able to be manipulated the way a HackRF or Pluto etc can be. I suspect because they're type approved and could become a liability.
@@BruceFerrell exactly. Icom has remote software for their rigs but they require an external PC to use. Why not enable a built in web server?
@@RyanHannaProductions See type approval. it's not right, but corporate lawyers are SO testy.
need a pre-compiled image for raspberrypi
will the OS image boot on a normal RaspberryPi?
No, you will need to compile it your self on a Raspberry Pi 4.
what would be the login and password for an ssh connection
There is NO sourcecode for this visible on github only images.
You need to look further, it’s there in black and white: github.com/F1ATB/Remote-SDR
Correction... nothing for version 2.2. It's like he simply replaces an HTML file and calls that a new release
@@TechMindsOfficial Yes, I dug further. this is a WebUI for a GNU-Radio block set. There ARE GRC files and a few Python files... And a modification to the sudoers subsystem. Which, at best, is questionable practice.
I tend to distrust things that are binary or obscure what they're doing.
The "source" is GNU-Radio itself. I've never seen that take three hours to build, but I'll admit, it's no fun.
The dev told me about 3 hours to compile for Raspberry Pi, so I opted for the Orange Pi 😂
@@TechMindsOfficial Understood. I've dealt with hi before. He doesn't like the PI
