  • The Revel RouteMaster bus 1/24 scale.
I have fitted this bus with 72 12v LED's and all circuits were made from 5mm self adhesive copper strips. I used a 12v x240v power supply.
This is one of my favourite kits to build.
Look out for my next project. The VW T1 Samba Bus.

Beautiful job! 'Warmer' lights would've been more realistic, especially since incandescent lights were used during that era.

This does look terrific but having said that, you did do it a misjustice by using cool-white led's instead of warm-white which would have toned it down and made it more authentic. Great job on planning and circuitry though, well done.

Nice model Raymond. I agree with a couple of the comment re the interior lighting. it needs a warm glow (yellowey orange instead of the cold bluey look) and a lower voltage/wattage globes. Still looks remarkable tho!

I have the Sunstar model, which is generall a great model of the RM. I always see things that disappoint though including the 1/12 Hachette, but I suppose being an enthusiast and purist I'll always find faults. This model not bad, but why still on 38 if in green?

Just my personal opinion but having actually worked on these routemasters as a conductor back in the day I can tell you now that the choice of LED white light you have chosen is just too bright. The bottom and lower decks had a beautiful warm subtle glow to them whereas your lighting is practically blinding! Same goes for headlights and destination boards. I like the idea of using copper strip instead of wires. I've got two of these Revel model kits as well as the SunStar 1/24 die-cast metal versions in the Red London Transport and Greenline versions that came out ten years ago.

      Hi.
      Thanks for your opinion.
I have a dimmer voltage regulator fitted.
I can reduce the lights to almost no glow, if I wanted too.
Photos show with a 12v power supply. Reducing the voltage reduces the light output.
      Thanks.

I can make you a front blind display for a Green Line route if you like. Just need dimensions...
