That would actually be quite an epic anti-climax. Equally brilliant and hilarious would be the Hightowers using an effective counterspell to stop him with an air of "Lolno. Both Thom and Liam are great narrators. Liam has just become more iconic as the "main" narrator, but I'm always down for the Thom vids. In terms of the list I agree with just about everything, but would maybe bump Qyburn up one tier higher. Yes he only did one thing with the help of science, but the thing he did was fully under his control and saved the Mountain from certain death, even making him undead. It's implied that the experiments that got him banished from the citadel may have involved blood magic / been magical in nature. So he seems to have a solid enough handle on magic and necromancy to be a mid-tier user, perhaps.

In Clash of Kings it is mentioned that the Guild produced more Wildfire then promised, when this is questioned by Tyrion the Guild states that their spells are working better than they did before. I don’t quite see a reason to of either lied about the spells or the amount they could produce, especially when they try to hide the spell working better with finding some in the Dragon Pits

imagine if in the final battle for the dawn against the others in the books, Jon Snow is able to skinchange into a dragon due to him being from both the stark and Targaryen bloodlines and by directly controlling the dragon he is able to use some kind of fire magic or long lost valyrian magic against the undead
What about the high priestess Kinvara? Basically Melisandre’s boss? I know we haven’t seen anything from her as such. But she should have been mentioned.
Surely guys it has to be the night king. Impervious to fire and I'm sure he has a proper weakness, but he can literally raise the dead. Whether the ones the wights get or his lieutenants. And because he Saw bran he must be a greenseer too
From what ive heard, in the books (which ofcourse are the main canon) i think the Warlocks are possibly just tricksters, but from my pov watching the show, they must be magical. Firstly, the whole duplication thing when we first meet them. Then they just appear behind the council to kill them. Then when one clone is killed they just, like, revive? And its not like its just Danny seeing things as her guards are there too. Then the whole thing with the tower door disappearing. Sure, it could just be the tower is magical not them but i doubt it. Then the whole sending an evil little girl clone who straight up teleported (cant believe the plotline was abandoned) seems just way too magical.
Dragons are all but canonically confirmed to strengthen magic and especially fire magic. The wildfire’s strengthening is not meant to be mere coincidence but thematically and narratively ominous. I agree that the manufacture of wildfire itself is almost certainly mundane, though. The fun with Euron is that even if he’s wrong-perhaps especially if he’s wrong-he’s still going to wrought unholy horror. Shade of the evening is similar: it’s a psychedelic that might unlock latent magic…but for most folks it’s just a wild trip that you perceive as magical. Power, shadow, walls, etc. Dany being a fire wight is one of my favorite little theories that probably aren’t true and probably doesn’t add much but still would be cool. Qyburn horrifies me. He’s Victor Frankenstein utterly unrestrained and far more cunning. Full believer in Mirri did nothing wrong. She actually tried healing Drogo but he didn’t follow the doctor’s prescription. Jorah bringing Dany into the tent is what slew her child, not Mirri. Then when she gets blamed for these horse-plowers not listening she just goes off like a queen. “Today is not the day I die,” Jojen said on the day before he died. Thoros is more competent than Melisandre. Prove me wrong. When in doubt, Bloodraven’s behind it. He’s like the better-intentioned medieval fantasy version of Palpy. We haven’t seen him cast lightning from his hands…yet. Wait, so the shadow baby scene isn’t supposed to be hot?
Thing about Euron is that he doesn't actually need magic to pull off (at least) his (first) big stunt in the books, it's said that blood attracts Krakens and he's been spilling blood into the sea just before the coming battle against the Redwyne fleet. Whether he could channel that power and bring the Krakens under his command or something is another question.
GRRM has confirmed that the reason Dany was unharmed by the fires that hatched her dragon eggs was because of the ritual itself and she's not fireproof. She IS more resistant to heat like many Targaryens to an extent, ex. her preferred bath temperature is hotter than non-Targaryens (like her handmaidens) are even able to handle touching, and she doesn't get bothered as much by really hot weather, but she doesn't have any permanent fireproofing. In fact, in ADwD, when she rides Drogon out of Meereen, her hair gets scorched by his flames (it might even get mostly burnt-away; I don't remember exactly off the top of my head.) So sadly she cannot pull off a similar stunt like in the show of burning-down a building while inside it and walking out untouched.... unless she learns to control her magic! _> _>
Great list. Though I am curious as to where you'd place the mages of old Valyria. I don't really have that much knowledge on what they could or couldn't do, but I know they were basically the top dogs of magic in their day, and if they can singlehandedly bring dragons into the world (I think I'm remembering that right) then they've clearly got to be up there with the best, right? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯
Dam straight! I don't think most people truly understand how pivotal a player Thom is for the channel. He's the reason it exists in the first place and the reason it's not just me running my mouth off over a windows movie maker slide show 😂 Thanks for watching as always escapist! Liam
Real question is whether Thom dropped the crossbow. 20 entries? Oh boy, this'll be fun. I guess the Giants do kind of count but don't for this, so yeah, fair point. As for Robert Strong, uh, yeah, sure. Potential frauds? Yeah, ok, the pyromancers make sense to be there. They can do a version of Greek Fire and aren't exactly magic. They're skilled, but magic? I wouldn't say so myself. Euron Greyjoy at number 20, huh? I suppose we don't have much proof yet. Would be funny if he's just full of shit, though full of LSD is more accurate, yes. Damphair? Yeah, sure, that works. I really need me some of whatever these Ironborn are dropping if this is what they end up as. Forget acid, these guys are dropping whatever Balon was when he decided invading the Westerlands was a good idea. Hmm, the Warlocks of Qarth... with the books, yes, it is possible that Dany was just tripping balls. The show might be a bit more debatable, but given the books is primary here, I'm going with Dany is tripping balls mostly because it feels like it fits George's world a bit more. Instinctual magic then. No Thom, he isn't done yet. Just a bit longer. There we go. Ah yes, the Stark children being instinctual skinchangers. Damn it Jon, you should have applied for proper permits. Don't you know that mistakes like these can cost you a knife and a chest- I mean and arm and a leg? Dany next? Yeah, makes sense. Only ever did magic by accident. Too many titles. If she could take full control of her magic... oh boy. Pretty sure George outright mentions that Dany's fireproofing was a one time thing. Also, Targaryens are fireproof, didn't you know? Low level? Eh, fuck Sansa. Anyway, where were we? Reforging Valyrian Steel should put Tobho on the list, sure. Qyburn... yeah, sure, he can be on here given what he did with Gregor. Ah yes, Maggy the Frog. Kind of partial to her just being full of shit and Cersei being a self fulfilling prophecy, but yeah, she can be on here. Mirri... not spelling her name out. Yeah, no, she's not a villain. Oh look, more Stannis. Anyway, given how unreliable Dany is as a narrator, I don't know much about this one. She can go on here with her level of control, but at the same time, eh? Colhands is Coldhands, not a guy. I've seen so many theories, all of them including him being a Stark. Yeah, sure, he can go on this spot. No, we won't get the books at this rate. Mid tier- ME at the top? Jojen at the bottom of mid tier... yeah, makes sense enough. Not much to say. Ah, No One. Yeah, they go on here easily. Could be argued to be higher given they're way more than just changing face (at least implied). Considering Thoros brought a man back to life 6 fucking times was it? Yep, 6 times. He goes here. Ah, Qaithe (I know I misspelled that). I've seen her claimed to be Shiera Seastar and Rhaenys Targaryen. GIf she's real, yeah, she's on here. Not much to say honestly, got very little to say about her. Six Skins (not even trying to spell his name) fits well enough at this point. Given it took Bran the Bedtime Story to get a human, yeah. Speaking of Bran, I do think he could be pushed a bit higher on the list down the line, but this is a good place for him now. And if you take the show into account, time fuckery and all, but I hate that (in the show), so moving on. Ah, the Mel. There's probably an argument for her to be above number 4, but yeah, she needs to be up there. Maybe she should stick to her spots instead of trying divination. Putting the dragons on the list? Yeah, sure, dragons are pretty much magic in and of themselves in ASOIAF. They don't cast magic, they just are magic as they are. Ok, can't remember where I saw this theory, but given there's a theory that Valyrian magic is based on the volcanos and First Man magic is based on Weirwood trees, makes sense that Greenseeing doesn't need dragons. Ah, Bloodraven. Yeah, I know who number 1 is now. Bloodraven pretty much speaks for himself at this stage. The Children kind of are magic like the dragons as far as I'm concerned. So this feels like a good place for them when they show their abilities. As for where I'd put them, I'd probably push Bloodraven one step down and put the Children here at number 2. Patchface, yes. Anyway, the Others really don't need anyone explaining what they can do. To be fair, if I'm remembering correctly, I think it's just Alysanne's dragon who didn't want to go past the Wall, but yes, if dragons don't want to go north of the Wall, is it even needed to say a thing? I've seen someone go with the Night King having caused the Doom of Valyria. I flinched back an entire meter at the Night King's defeat in the show. That's all I'll say. Yeah, the divine beings would be there, but given George, yeah. Watch the Great Other be a Balrog. Anyway, gonna sign off with that. Great video.
I'd prefer a Marvel comparison to StarWars. Green Seeing the future, past and things far afield is more akin to Professor Charles Xavier's psychic powers. The Night King's command of the dead and capacity to augment babies into White walkers is like a weird amalgamation of Thanos and Apocalypse. Now if only the books could go out with as big a bang as Endgame.
what about davos bro literally is the only person in the entire book that the faith of the seven gods have helped. bro has like 100+ luck btw for those who doesn't know davos saw the mother which is a god of the seven and she somehow both gave him strength and led the only person on the planet that would save his life to him so he didn't die. like bor had a .1% chance of survival and lived multiple times
btw i just realised each god has a representative old god is blood raven/ people with old blood death is the house of black white faith of the seven is davos lord of light is the fire users/dragon drown god patchface the white walkers seems to be hated by everyone maybe because they break the laws of the world by taking away death to bring a unnatural life so I'm not sure which god this would represent. but the lord of light also does this but differently I guess cause those who the white walkers bring back are slaves but those who the lord of light brings back still has free will. bro if I was death god I would be pissed ppl just keep stealing his stuff
Honestly I'm definitely expecting some world war Z style crap, just sounds terrifying either that or the Others figure out boats. That'd be... Terrifying, hilarious and anticlimactic all at once. Not the horn of winter or some evil magic spell. Just... Figured out wood floats. Or maybe like a ship made of bones. Kinda like Nafalgar from norse mythology Which was Loki's ship of nails. Odd comparison I know but anything is possible when you're an ice zombie
🤣 that would be amazing. A POV chapter of the others just throwing a log into the sea and noticing it floats and having a lightbulb moment. I think the others will be anticlimactic no matter how George approaches it now in all honesty. Not because he's not a good writer and can't pull off the Epicness it deserves, I just don't think it can EVER match the hype. In all honesty something extremely anti climatic might be the best way to shock us 😂 as long as it's not like the show levels of anti climatic. Thanks for watching Jack! Liam

What about the high priestess Kinvara? Basically Melisandre’s boss? I know we haven’t seen anything from her as such. But she should have been mentioned.
I was totally cool with Patchface being first.
We need the lore. We demand it!!
Surely guys it has to be the night king. Impervious to fire and I'm sure he has a proper weakness, but he can literally raise the dead. Whether the ones the wights get or his lieutenants.
And because he Saw bran he must be a greenseer too
Yay a video made specifically just for me! I feel so special.
Prove it! Prove you're not mad!
Then the whole sending an evil little girl clone who straight up teleported (cant believe the plotline was abandoned) seems just way too magical.
pls more lore videos, like about the free cities.
How about Bran the Builder who clearly utilised Magic during the building of his structures across Westerose
He probably only went with characters alive during the book/show.
what about that one maester who has a valerian steel chain?
Melisandre is also a shadow binder and thoros is not!
Thoros does seem more competent with fire magic though
Thing about Euron is that he doesn't actually need magic to pull off (at least) his (first) big stunt in the books, it's said that blood attracts Krakens and he's been spilling blood into the sea just before the coming battle against the Redwyne fleet. Whether he could channel that power and bring the Krakens under his command or something is another question.
Any update on that dany video?
Could we Pick azura high for the most powerful caracter in Got i mean he beat the others so
GRRM has confirmed that the reason Dany was unharmed by the fires that hatched her dragon eggs was because of the ritual itself and she's not fireproof. In fact, in ADwD, when she rides Drogon out of Meereen, her hair gets scorched by his flames (it might even get mostly burnt-away; I don't remember exactly off the top of my head.)
So sadly she cannot pull off a similar stunt like in the show of burning-down a building while inside it and walking out untouched.... unless she learns to control her magic!

Just got done watching S8A6 of GOT and honestly, I really did enjoy it. I don't really get the hate
What about Maquaro and Marwin?
You forgot to add the two wildlings that were skinchangers
Where would you rank Visenya and Tyanna if they were to be put on the list?
Visenya in the "possibly fraud" tier since we don't actually know whether she did any magic. Tyana in the "low" tier probably.
I know the video only talk about the asoiaf era but where would you put azor ahai in the list he's is more powerful that bloodraven for exemple
What about Alys Rivers?
Who's talking 💩 about Thom's narration?!
That boy has the voice of a shy angel. Leave him alone!
Dam straight! I don't think most people truly understand how pivotal a player Thom is for the channel. He's the reason it exists in the first place and the reason it's not just me running my mouth off over a windows movie maker slide show 😂
Thanks for watching as always escapist! Liam
What about the other priests of R‘hllor more powerful than Melisandre? Like Benerro and Moqorro
I love the idea that Eurons actually just tripping balls & has absolutely zero magical abilities whatsoever lol
Euron has legit goat potential
I'd prefer a Marvel comparison to StarWars.
Green Seeing the future, past and things far afield is more akin to Professor Charles Xavier's psychic powers.
The Night King's command of the dead and capacity to augment babies into White walkers is like a weird amalgamation of Thanos and Apocalypse.
Now if only the books could go out with as big a bang as Endgame.
Craster?
what about davos bro literally is the only person in the entire book that the faith of the seven gods have helped. bro has like 100+ luck
btw for those who doesn't know davos saw the mother which is a god of the seven and she somehow both gave him strength and led the only person on the planet that would save his life to him so he didn't die. like bor had a .1% chance of survival and lived multiple times
btw i just realised each god has a representative
old god is blood raven/ people with old blood
death is the house of black white
faith of the seven is davos
lord of light is the fire users/dragon
drown god patchface
the white walkers seems to be hated by everyone maybe because they break the laws of the world by taking away death to bring a unnatural life so I'm not sure which god this would represent. but the lord of light also does this but differently I guess cause those who the white walkers bring back are slaves but those who the lord of light brings back still has free will. bro if I was death god I would be pissed ppl just keep stealing his stuff
Liam
Why didnt you include Marwyn the Mage?
It’s good to know that the fandome isn’t starting to lose their collective shit over The Winds of Winter. They’re handling it well.
Okay; I said the words fandome can I please see my kids again?
No
No
10/10👏👏👏
Huh I'm early today, awesome.
Who tf is hating on thom that’s just not right
But I really like Tom narration
JUSTICE FOR THOM
Hold on, how do we get Stannis the Mannis to top this list?
The Mannis needs no cheap tricks like god teir magic to be the most powerful entity in Thrones Rob! Such tricks are beneath him, which is why he lets Mel do it instead 😂
Thanks for watching as always Rob! Liam
But what about Marwin?
I prefer Thom's narration. But nothing against the other guy 😅
Oh it's like that is it? Well I'm afraid my fragile ego cannot tolerate that. Looks like I'm going to have to ban Thom from voicing all future videos!!!! Thanks for watching Emiliaefr! Liam
Dragons are god tier!
What would have happened if Khal Drogo didn't die?
You forgot moqorro the black flame
Euron's Valyrian steel armor???
REAL??.......FAKE??.........
Either way it will serve his purpose as either just plain battle armor or as "PLOT ARMOR"!!!
Viva La Victarion!!!!
Viva La Stannis!!!! Thanks for watching Rebel Lord Taron! Liam
Waiting for Vicky to tackle that bastard into the sea.
To be fair bran wargs a mentally crippled human a regular one could end up like varamyr
22:33 The dragons are Creations OF magic Not users
They breathe magical fire and have the capability to form a meta physical bond with their riders. I'd also speculate they have a sixth sense for magic, hence why Silverwing refused to cross the wall.
While they are a creation of magic, unlike Robert Strong they definitely do use magic in some capacity.
Thanks for watching Julius! Liam
No love for Marwyn?
I don't even count the shows are reference. Theon killing the Night King... My ass!!!
I'll grant ye that Lord of the Rings is a grand tale, though I wouldn't really call its magic system integrated into the story what with the fact that there are only maybe five people in the story that can use it... though on the other hand the whole story is driven by a magic bit of jewelry...
have you come back from heaven, liam?
The dragons and white walkers are magic not magic users. Also no marwyn mention? He's literally marwyn the mage.
Im confident the undying are magical beings they were trying to syphon dany and the dragons magic a few of their visions align with the visions the dothraki
Patchface is the most accurate fortune teller in the entire series
Ghost of high heart is better and a whole lot more clear
@@ticket_puncher ghost of high hearts are not more clear the green dreams are just as cryptic as jogens patchface or melisandre and most of the things she said we interpret accurately because its not a prediction its things that have already happened like the faceless man with a drowned crow on his shoulder we knew that meant the crows eye killed balon and he didnt just fall off a bridge i think predicting the future from a person blood is the same as maggy the frogs ability and nowhere near as powerful maggy predicted cerseis entire life and her friends death that night the ghost just says she sees people arya will kill patchface has a 100% accuracy so far
Aeron Greyjoy better be number 1
No ,it should be Thoros of Myr obviously
