DJI Osmo Pocket 3, How to Activate and Firmware Update

  • Activation
    To activate your new DJI Osmo Pocket 3, you will need to download the DJI Mimo app and connect your Osmo Pocket 3 to your mobile device using the included smartphone adapter. Once your Osmo Pocket 3 is connected, the DJI Mimo app will automatically launch and prompt you to activate your device. To activate, simply follow the on-screen instructions.
    Firmware Update (Version 01.01.08.50)
    To update the firmware on your DJI Osmo Pocket 3, you will also need to use the DJI Mimo app. Once your Osmo Pocket 3 is connected to the app, check if there is a new firmware update available. If there is, tap on the update notification to start the update process.
    Here are the steps on how to update the firmware on your DJI Osmo Pocket 3:
    1. Make sure that your Osmo Pocket 3 has at least a 15% battery level.
    2. Connect your Osmo Pocket 3 to the DJI Mimo app.
    3. Check if there is a new firmware update available.
    4. Tap on the update notification to start the update process.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the update.
    Tips
    * Before updating the firmware, make sure that your Osmo Pocket 3 is connected to a stable Wi-Fi network.
    * Do not disconnect your Osmo Pocket 3 from the app or turn it off while the firmware is updating.
    * If the firmware update fails, try restarting your Osmo Pocket 3 and the DJI Mimo app. Then, try updating the firmware again.

      Thank you for your comment. I don’t have actual support for the iPhone but have Additional very useful accessories that I bought for the camera. Please stay tuned, I will upload the video on them likely soon/tomorrow.

      Thank you for your comment. Sadly, from what I know you would have to at least active it with a phone (possibly an iPad). *However after, you can use the Pocket 3 independently. There’s a forum that they discuss this:

    Doesn't connect on any of my android pixel 7 pro & ultra 20 Note this pocket 3 only for iPhone

      Hi, sorry, I believe the app doesn’t exist on Android systems. I don’t know why. You may have to activate it with an iPhone of someone else’s, if you haven’t already.

      Hi, thanks for your comment. Have you been able to use the camera okay? According to a DJI forum, you can use the DJI Osmo Pocket 3 without the MIMO app. It’s been documented that the Mimo app was removed from the Play Store.

      Notes from DJI forum:
      If the update fails, follow the steps for troubleshooting.
      1. Restart Osmo Pocket 3 and DJI Mimo.
      2. Enable Wi-Fi and Bluetooth on the mobile device.
      3. Connect Osmo Pocket 3 to DJI Mimo and try the update again.
      Contact Djl Support if the update fails again.

      Dji Support tell me to return my device, and get replacement, i dont know whats wrong, trying to fix by restarting, but its not working, still stuck on the boot screen

      Oh, if somehow you could run it out-the battery, it might work to restart. It worked for my Canon V10, it was stuck on a screen when I tried to firmware update also. I discussed this in a video on my channel. I just remember.

    Whenever I connect through Bluetooth it disconnects as soon as I leave the settings app so I can’t even use this camera I just wasted $500 on 😂

      Hi, thanks for your comment. There must be something going on that I don’t know. However, if you can activate it, you should no longer need the Mimo app. The Pocket 3 should then work independently. If you can, let me know how you were setting it up.
