'Blind sewings/stitches or inside hidden stitches' for foamed designs is an 'old method' I learnt more than 30 years ago. Some car trimmers still remain hermetic or mysterious about teaching others how to do this. I have considered important for the lovers of the trade, to rescue these methods and spread the knowledge here and there.
As I said in the video, these beautiful designs can be applied on furniture and automotive upholstery (mostly vintage cars).

Oh man I feel so stupid after watching your video i always thought that in order to make such a design with blind stitches for example the square one you started at 16:00 you would need to sew together 9 small rectangles . so I never tried to do it now i see that it is pretty simple actually thank you so much . You have made my day sir and you got yourself a new subscriber .

Estimado Rafael, para conseguir los repuestos puede ser directamente a los representantes de Pfaff en la ciudad que nos encontremos. Otra manera sería comprar los repuestos online: ebay, amazon, etc.

Hello Alexey, I have used 1 cm thick, medium density upholstery foam. 1 cm thick is good as a minimum to get the desired shape. 1/2" of an inch also works good.

Great videos as always!!! I was going through some of your older vids which I do quite often, and at the very beginning of this video I noticed a different kind of foam ive never used but I see all the time. Its the foam with all the different colored specks in it. I know it is a dense foam, but my question to you is, what kind of foam , what is the name, and where do you get it from? thanks for you help
The standard foams (grey or yellow) are the same. It just changes the density soft, medium and hard density. the grey foam I use is medium density.

How do you determine the amount of material you will need, is it just adding the amount of each blind stich seam?
A good tip to determine the extra needed allowance is do a test beforehand with a piece of same materials (vinyl, foam and backing cloth) you are going to use for. The rectangles could be shorter, no problem. The important thing is get the extra allowance. After sewing a pair of rectangles you would need to unsew them and you would have the extra measure your would need to add to the real rectangles you want.

To be honest I've had no much idea about a Barcelona chair. It's an old beautiful design and I never payed attention to it.
I was checking on you tube some information and I've realized the main panels are done of a series of individual rectangular pieces which are assembled/sewn together by using 'short pieces of piping' to get one whole piece or panel. The sides of the rectangular pieces are not completely straight, they have an added curve or light deviation on the corners to let the buttons lightly deepen in. (the first you tube video shows interesting information)

Bonitos trabajos, disculpe mi ignorancia, en el minutos 2.12 cuando hace la costura quería saber cual es el fin de poner una tela (se ve algo blanco) debajo de la espuma ? gracias , saludos.
La tela (manta) que está debajo sirve para ayudar a contener y dar forma a la 'espuma'. Esta tela, podemos decir que es un 'refuerzo' que debe ser cosido con el material de la parte superior(tela, vinil o cuero)...la espuma (u otro relleno) queda contenida y ya no se deformará tan fácil.
Josue Sanchez se llama tocuyo,y se pega a la espuma y esta a su vez se cose cn el material q se ha de utilizar( cuero,cuerina,marroquin,etc
Creo que lo normal es que lleve una tela tipo lienzo o liencillo que el sintetico es mas barato y el de algodón es algo mas caro depende la calidad que tenga será mas abierta o cerrada la trama.

I want a tactile, sensual feel to my portfolio; so real fabric, real brass, real 'debossing', (or the effect of debsossing anyway). Got any ideas please?
I'm making my A3 portfolio and want a 3mm-5mm depth effect. I can, (I think), get the letters laser cut from brass, but it's getting them sat inside the debossed area of some tailor's fabric so it looks like the effect shown in the image.

+Kris A (londongamer) If I clearly undrstood, you want a 'low relief' (3 to 5 mm deep) to house the 'brass letters' inside. To get that depth, I would advise to cut the letters out of the cardboard material...of course, the cut-out letters would be a little bigger, considering the thickness of the fabric to get enough room and let the 'brass letters' fit perfectly inside...do a test beforehand.
I used something similar in this video...in this case leather material is thick, and for your project you would need a lighter material such as the fabric you are mentioning. th-cam.com/video/jZT6ViLV3_4/w-d-xo.html

Estimada María, estoy muy orgulloso de mi idioma el castellano/español.
No se si será lamentable, pero resulta que el idioma inglés se ha convertido en la actualidad en el idioma de la tecnología, los negocios y la comunicación a nivel global, con decirle que hasta en la China aprenden este idioma. Mi idea no es presumir, sino simplemente ponerme también a la vanguardia y tratar de llegar a muchos lugares que hablan otros idiomas, pero que están actualizados con este idioma inglés..
Imagínese que mis videos los hiciera solo en español, solo porque soy orgullosamente latino; creo que se vería como que una actitud muy egoista y limitada y yo estoy con la mayoría.
Ademas para aprender tapicería no se necesita hablar. Mis métodos son visuales.
