What makes Megadeth stood out so far ahead, apart their mind-blowing riffs, is Mustaine's outstanding fury! Best thrash metal band imo ever, even Slayer pales in front of them.
Dave is an incredible talented musician, he could dance while he plays and sings, his presence is huge live... There s something bluesy when he makes a solo, he has something to say and to play, it s a fight
To say that Slayer pales in comparison is just stupid. Maybe Slayers musicianship isn’t as advanced, but their vibe of aggression and rage is either greater than or equal to Megadeth….

My personal favorite is the second one i mentioned. I love the first 3 lineups almost equally but i was never really a fan of Chuck Behler. I will say that Jeff Young is underrated though.

OK so I think you have your wires crossed someware here, its chuck behler who was the drummer on S.F.S.G.S.W. you are correct in his drug use BUT Jeff Young was booted out for trying to shag PAM, Daves wife.
Charles Leon it wasn't Pam. Jeff was given the boot for trying to bone Dave's girlfriend at the time, or so the story goes. I've heard rumors that is why James McDonough and the band parted ways.

This is one of Megadeth's best live shows ever! I know the band was at its worst mentally, physically and spiritually because of their alcohol and drug addiction during this tour, but they still managed to churn out some great music and great live shows. I think there was an incentive to play well during this show because it was being recorded live for German tv and plus Dave Mustaine's mother was there.
In My Darkest Hour wasn't written for Cliff. Yes, the melody was composed under the Mustaine's impression of Burton's death. But the whole song is not about him.
