Ellefson lookin like hes gonna cut me a sweet deal on a used amp at Guitar Center
lmfao
This comment is gold xD
How so? Does he look like a typical guitar store employee?
@@Mogamishu Yes, that is the joke
😂😂😂😂👌🏼🤘🏼
Mustaine always looks like he's about to insult you with some clever yet humiliating remark.
Because he is.
Typical of a virgo...
That's what makes him so great
Ellefson looks like Shaggy from Scooby Doo here lol
Hahahaha omfg didn't even catch that
looks like he'd be in a punk band lol
Like, zoinks Scoob!
I DIDN'T KNOW THE GUY FROM SPIN DOCTORS JOINED MEGADETH!
Yeah... Quite a bit
I think "Risk" was named after Ellefson's haircut...
Derek S 😂😂😂👌🏼
Cant believe Dave is almost 40 in this interview. Looks young as hell
jan 2000 he was 38
He still looked exactly the same like this until United abominations era ,then he started to look older rapidly after that neck surgery in 2010 or 2011.
Dave always has that "whatever" look on his face...lol.
So true 😊
This is the kind of 480p that looks better than 1080p
"Marty Friedman is attending college for Japanese"... The beginning of the end.
antoniusmetal i love marty はい!!!!
Time the begining - the end is the last Megadeth songs with Marty on lead guitar.
Ive seen Friedman on Japanese TV. His Japanese is flawless.
Japanese girls are so nice haha he followed his doodle
Good for him
Its like Dave Mustaine didnt age until like 2004 or something. Then it all came very fast.
I would say after the big 4 reunion he aged the worst lol
Cancer will do that
@@thereisnopandemic chemo does that

Dave looks like he doesn't wanna be there.

Intellectual Solitude Productions because he probably didn’t want to be there
He's always been a very serious dude.
@@eva-vs1zu ..and it is probably the 10th interview he had done that day. Answering the same questions in every single interview.
Probably becuz of Risk failure or something
It only took 11 Minutes to make Dave slightly smile.
dave could be one of those aggressive sarcastic comedians who diss anyone and everyone thinks they're joking but really they just hate the world
Long live Dave Mustaine.
Long live Dave Ellefson.
Long live Megadeth.
Long live menza and marty....best megadeth line up hands down....broderick....hell of a back up vocal.....and kiko today....simply amazing....bottom line...mustaine is the luckiest band leader ever by having great guitar players....but drummers....menza was megadeth

Well….short live Junior….
The look Dave gives the interviewer, the entire time, is pure metal. Intimidating, thoughtful, intense, demanding respect.
He kinda looked and acted like a dick if you ask me. You get the respect you deserve.
@@joshburns4611 I got two words, for ya.......................... "SUCK IT!"
lol
Mustaine should be a part time Comedian, all his Interviews there are funny ass moments coolest Metal God on the planet
It's because he is the smartest guy in the room, the most perceptive guy in the room and the quickest of wit guy in the room. Pure gold from a genius IQ. And no one does sarcasm the way Mustaine does. He damn near owns it.
There is some good videos on here if him being a Savage during interviews
@@careygrant493 what about Frank Zappa? he was the god of wit and sarcasm
@@killathaclown5923 That's why I'm here. This guy is endlessly entertaining.
He always comes off as a really honest dude. Like the type of guy who isn’t going to smile in your face and all shit behind your back.
Ellefson before his dealer shift at Ceasers Palace
this must of been when Ellefson became a professional poker player
You just made me laugh soooo hard XD
That shirt lol!
Nickhead87 How does that make sense? Tom Araya is christian and he was the frontman of slayer.
@TA A he talks about his faith quite often
Didn’t Scott Ian really do that though?
I never knew Lane Staley joined megadeth
not sure if ellefsons shirt could look any more 90s
like saved by the bell
nah i was thinkin late 90s, kinda like a surfer
Or less metal....
Actually, looks like a very much "of the moment" kind of shirt for that exact time, like he made the mistake of drinking the Kool aid for the time period of fashion.
It's the 90's alternative rock bowler shirt. Such as like Smashmouth, Soundgarden, and Offspring wore. Has nothing to do with surfing. He was just part of the people following the trend and obviously Mustaine wasn't lol
Dave Ellefson looks like the bassist if he joined Metallica then worked on St Anger. 😂
God, I love Dave. He's such an intellectual.
Note* Mustaine never cut his hair short.🤘🏼
Never ever!!! Thats what REALLY makes him the GOAT! The awesome guitar playing is just a bonus lmao!!!🤘🏽
Yup, fucking G.O.A.T. !
He has huge ears.
What? OH yea.. he already did it.

Dave's the best.
Dave is literally just trying to make people smile the entire interview
Kinda speaks to his character
Dave Mustaine can look gorgeous no matter what mood he’s in. GOAT I love you Mustaine 💜
took me forever to realize that the guy on the right was Junior.
+The Absent Mind yeah, his face doesn't look like chewed leather
phantomofoaktown no pun intended, but that is sad but true
kurzackd 😂 I knew it was him because I know he cut his hair short around 1998 something like that. And I can recognize his voice too.
I thought it was layne staley.🤣🤣🤣
phantomofoaktown I just spit out my coffee!
Dave is actually a really funny guy : D
“Too much partying?” “ NO!!! Too much schooling”
Late 90s/early 2000s fashion was really something wasn't it
Ellefson: bowling for soup
HA!
Wow Dave looks gorgeous here
7:30 Just pure gold! "I just wanna rawk! I don't wanna hear that crap"
His reaction to weak ass Kerry King 0-0-0-0-0-0-0-
Dave mustaine is one intermediating guy he doesn’t break eye contact and doesn’t want to hear any bullshit
Marty and menza....best line up of megadeth...
I must say that Mustaine is just simple awesome but at the same time quite intimidating.
It's like God's description.
THANK YOU DAVE MUSTAINE FOR EVERYTHING YOU HAVE GIVEN US!
I lost BOTH of my Parents to Cancer at age 26, and only 7 Months apart!. By listening to you, I was able to reaffirm the feeling l that I KNEW in my soul to be true!

And the hair
David looks like he can destroy the world with 10% of his power
Dave is just such a cool guy
Mustaine looking and acting like 23 days sober here
Good stuff. I really like this band. Helped me to survive my teenage years.
Man ! So true Dave . It made me get through some really rough times
@@jessecorona3076 me to friend
@@u.s.m.c.fewproudthemarines2987 awesome brother!
I respect that Mustaine has never clowned out with the makeup and "costumes" like many have in the industry, basically becoming caricatures of themselves. He is just a real guy in a successful band, first and foremost. He defines his music, his music does not define him.
Dave has this look that says, "oh great I gotta try really hard to make this interviewer's questions more interesting than what is being said. It's the same look I have when my boss tries to give me pep talk about what I do at my job is important.
Dave M. Is a music mastermind ..just look at early Metallica early 80's stuff..it made Metallica..Megadeth has always been badass..thanks D.M. for never giving up..following ur dream and u still are..
Dave is so beautiful here 💜🥰🩷
this is a great interview. good questions
19:03 "what do you think that song is about?"
*awkward silence*
interviewer must have shat his pants when dave asked that
“Alcohol”
The only time it shows the guy too lmao
Very very insightful interview especially at the 2:27 mark. Great advice for artists in general.
This is around the same time Dave was filmed for “some kind of monster”. His moment with Lars is probobly the best part of the whole cockumentary.
Great interview
With all of Mustaines' interviews it is obvious he is naturally a very wise and is very WOKE person and knows how to make his own path...Much RESPECT \m/
You lost me at "WOKE" lol are you 18?
Steve Vargas he’s not WOKE at all
Not woke. Cerebral yes.

Dave just telling it like it is! Love it.
Dave mustaine is scary... I love him
He’s an intimidating dude
He’s a teddy bear
@@yakuzaohtani3631 he definitely is but when I went to his beer release at St. Vitus bar in Brooklyn and he was the coolest, nicest guy ever. He hung around, talked to everybody and I had the honor to hang and talk with him for about ten minutes. I didn’t know that people were allowed to bring albums and memorabilia there so I didn’t bring anything but he happily signed my arm for me with no problem 😎 I have a picture of Dave and I with him standing behind the bar with his signature little Dave smirk and I’ll cherish that shit forever
Awesome interview
OMG!!! Dave is sooooo hot!!!
I know, holy shiiitt!!!
Karyn Sheer because that’s what it’s all about
woman you are everywhere
Gibson the fact that you have to state that in such a needy way shows lmao
Which Dave? Haha
Great interview from one of my favorite bands of all time!!! They are still putting out great music. In my opinion, Dystopia is the best album they have done since Rust In Peace. The whole album is awesome including the songs that are on the deluxe edition and import edition.
Last Dying Breath is fucking A!
John Katsoudas endgame was fucking awesome too!
yeah dystopia was a very impressive album and i was thinking the exact same thing. the albums since rust have had some solid songs here and there, but i don't listen them as a whole like i would with Killing, Peace or Rust. Dystopia is solid from start to finish and Kiko is the best fit since Friedman.
@@maxotto9877 cryptic writings? Damn fine songs on there.
Dystopia is very good, but I liked world abomination and end game a lot as well. I'm glad they solidified in a heavier direction after whatever albums that were more radio friendly attempts
Megadeth rules! Well recovery to you Dave! ❤️
I love Dave so much
Love to Dave!
Mustaine - some of the eighties took away my short term memory.
Interviewer - too much partying I guess.
Mustaine - no. Too much schooling.
Yea he bit his head off lol
Dave mustaine at his best!
😆
Peace Sells = Masterpiece... Rust In Peace = Another Masterpiece. There are not too many albums that have no weak songs. Megadeth has two perfect albums. Just My Opinion, Of Course!
I agree with your picks. I'll add some :
Metallica -Master of Puppets and And Justice for All
Pantera - Vulgar Display of Power and The Great Southern Trendkill
Trivium - Ascendancy, Shogun and In the Court of the Dragon
Whitechapel- Self titled and This is exile
Slipknot - self titled and IOWA
luv these dudes
Contempt prior to investigation is ignorance....very well said..
Loved his take on Sting!!
Dave is very smart & intelligent person
I can't believe this was nearly twenty ago already.
I like the way dave thinks
If I were a journalist ..and I had to interview Dave Mustaine ...Id be scared to death ! I cannot lie ..he looks so intimidating, he is fine as wine , but ,intimidating...I wonder what its like being Dave's wife ..I bet he wears the pants ,no ifs ,ands, or buts ,about it ! But,,when Dave Mustaine smiles all that anxiety just melts away, kinda..lol
Megadeth for the masses. Sad times for a hardcore Megadeth fan, I remember it all too clearly when looking at Ellefson.
This must have been not long after Risk because Daves attitude to Megadeths situation musically is very interesting to hear in that time... Very different today.
Everyone either calling Ellefson Layne Staley or Shaggy, or saying he’s going bowling after this interview. Lmfao
Such a crazy time for metal music. I loved Megadeth so much throughout the 90s. They're still in my top 5, but my musical tastes have really broadened, and I listen to so much music, due to the fact that my influences, bands like Megadeth and Metallica weren't afraid to experiment and change their style to fit the song back then. It was literally a risk to do that. They lost fans, but they gained new ones. I was always there. Although I was disappointed at first, I grew to absolutely love Risk. Not quite a metal album, as it is more of a hard rock/experimental album with metal elements. The vocals are fantastic! Anyway. Great interview. Thanks!
97 98 was a wierd time for metal bands that were still making albums they all had experimental sounds as in they were trying to fit in or change with the times
So what you're trying to say is that you listen to Adam Levine NOW. IT'S OK BRUH YOU TRAITOR!
7:30 man, synchronicity lyrics are really cool, and that is a police song
I'm glad he told where the rhythm of "Angry Again" came from. He just took the beat and the guitar chord cadence , but changed the notes and turned it into a cool riff. Or something like that...
Mustaine îs razor sharp, his commentary about zip codes and the industry was bang on. What's more interesting is this was 2000, shortly before metal (as the old guard knew it) completely imploded, nearly taking Megadeth with it.
Ellefson bowled a 300 right after this interview.
Pause at 9:18
Gorgeous
18:09 HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA
9:01 Dave you are the best man 🙏❤️🔥🔥🔥
“Too much partying”
“No too much schooling.” Fuckin love Dave hahah zero shits given
ellefson is all enthusiastic and smiling and mustaine is just like...
I was a big Megadeth fan back in the day & still am but I lost track of them after either Risk or cryptic writings witch ever was the last album at that time due to growing up & & going to be a father , my girlfriend at the time thought it would be a good ideal if I let go of all my Megadeth picture , tapestry’s , & other Megadeth related relics of my past because we both didn’t want are daughters ( her daughter & my newborn daughter ) freaking out in the middle of the night for when they wake up from a bad dream & see Victor Rattlehead staring back at them from a big poster on the walls , so life at that time took a different turn but now that I’m older I’m trying to reconnect back into all of the things I missed from the past 21 years of being a father . Now my daughter is all grown up & me & her mom went are own different ways I have time to reconnect to there music & now my daughter says to me I DONT KNOW HOW YOU CAN LISTEN OT THAT STUFF.
It's really horrible how Mustaine just dropped the guy who's been by his side all these years like a hot rock. It's a true testament to what kind of a person Mustaine really is.
I don't understand your question
the piercing delivery of it.
Ellefson looks like he's about to hit the Bowling alley. I don't miss late 90's early 2000's fashion at all.
Man. He is argumentative! Haha! He would probably say, "No I'm not."
damn dave is a beautiful man tho
I didn't know Owen Wilson knew Dave Mustaine.
Never put it together that Prince of Darkness was about alcohol. Makes complete sense when you read the lyrics though.
+czeslawpi Happy they shed some light on that.
I thought it was about heroin... Interesting.
Soft-Top Convertible Metalhead: It’s different for everyone.
@@jacksonmustaine1783 Poison Was The Cure was about smack
Soft-Top Convertible Metalhead Some people take these song titles very literal.. So would think it’s quite literally about the Prince of Darkness.
3:15 "i don't understand your question" lmao. i love how mustaine didn't even try to offer rapport with the guy when he made a nonsensical comment.
You can understand why dave looks this angry here if you read his book. He actually hated the final product of "risk" and the band was falling apart in these days.
back when Junior looked like a pop star....Dave Always look amazing...and funny as hell
I wish it zoomed up on Dave’s face in the beginning
I love how dave just disagrees with everything this interviewer says😂. Like it doesn't matter how good or bad or insightful the question he just says "No"....
😌 Dave Mustaine🔥💘
Dos Daves!
