@@eon001 Will the police sue you for illegal detainment? 😂 Anyway I still can't forget about the house owner who punched a burglar and ended up being jailed for 11 months.
so he is telling people to lock yourself in a room you can not get out of, yeah no chance of that what happens if theres a fire etc. we were born with our rights we dont need to get them off some corrupt fake authority
In the United States, we have a couple of different philosophies about peoples' right to self-defense. Depending on the state you live in, the law will either be the "castle doctrine" or "stand-your-ground" status. A few politically far-left states have neither and provide people with practically no immediate right to self-defense. The castle doctrine stipulates that a person has the right to use a reasonable amount of lethal or non-lethal force necessary to protect one's safety inside his/her HOME/RESIDENCE. A few states have expanded their castle doctines to cover a person's vehicle and/or place of business. If a person is in one of those places, they have NO LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY to flee/escape. In all other locations, people must use all possible opportunities to escape before engaging the aggressor as a last resort. The "stand-your-ground" principle on the books in some states applies the legal protections of the castle doctrine to ANY/ALL locations, hence completely eliminating any duty to flee regardless of a persons' location. This means that if an aggressor attempts to use force against you, you have the right to neutralize the threat regardless of where you are. Some people think that "stand-your-ground" laws permit too much aggression in open society. That may or may not be the case, but I don't see why all jurisdictions in the world should not have "castle doctrine" laws.
Someone breaks into my house with a weapon with my little lad in bed, only one person is leaving Alive , I will do life in jail if anyone hurt my partner and child
I find it ridiculous that people don't have the right to self-defense in so much of the world. Even Trudeau and Macron openly stated that no such right exists. You know what I hate violence I’d rather hug it out or talk things out but you’re absolutely right I wouldn’t ever hold something like that against you or anyone else. The laws need changed big time here
My house was broken into in 2020. My girlfriend and son were upstairs. I hit the man in the head with a whisky bottle and was able to put him in a choke hold and choke him out. I was put on trial for GBH but the judge eventually dropped all the charges.
What a laughing stock we are. There is far too much leeway and sympathy for criminals. The daftest thing in the law is that you cannot own a weapon at home in case this happens. You are expected to grab a random object in the heat of the moment, but what if you have nothing to hand, they have a weapon, they're bigger than you, there are multiple attackers, or all three at once? Then what? The law forces the home owner to be at a complete disadvantage and i don't want to hear "oh it doesn't happen much" tell that to the victims bud.
Houses are so expensive these days may as well break in and they will leave as advised by the police 🤣🤣🤣 fucking joke of a country all we do is defend criminals and not the safety of the innocent good people
You are sound asleep at night when you hear a crash somewhere. You are woken up suddenly and probably disorientated. Who expects a break in every night anyway? And if there are children in the house they are your first concern. You don't know if the noise was caused by a fire breaking out somewhere,or just the neighbour's cat falling off the dustbin. Your first instinct,in your pyjamas,is to seek the cause of the disturbance. The burglar is wide awake and ready for trouble. You are still half asleep. In a situation like this how can the defender be expected to react calmly and logically, especially if the kids are starting to howl? And the wife is most likely shouting as well. It 's absolute mayhem! This is most likely to be in the dark,or relatively so. And you see some total stranger ,wearing a mask, standing in front of you holding a hammer or crowbar! Do you offer him a cup of tea,and help himself to whatever he fancies? And call the police who may or may not turn up. And your family is in a state of shock. That's where our law is ridiculous, out of touch with the reality of a dangerous situation. And certainly not helpful.
Can good morning speak about woman’s defence when out. I have been approached twice and both times was lucky to find a business open that I could run too. Young are becoming more violent and attack in groups. How do I protect myself? Pepper spray should be a legal carry with a licence and declaration to only use under distress.
I\d defend my home and family with the most extreme prejudice the criminals would have no worries about harming you And so it should be an Eye for an eye
if you fear for your life you could use deadly force, sure its the castle doctrine or something like that but using deadly force also goes for when your outside in public if you fear for your life, you can not be expected to stand and do nothing until you find out your in the process of being killed it would be to late then.
Laughable. Someone breaks in to your house with a blade and advances towards you. Try and "disarm" them with your batton. Most police resort to a taser at the very least in that situation. Clueless about the realisites of violence

I am really watching a police officer telling me to do nothing and lock myself in the bathroom ffs this country has gone down the pan.
Or restrain them. How tf are you going to restrain them AND call the police. Insanity.

It should be legal to do whatever it takes to protect your home.

It is everywhere else. Only here has the law turned on itself.

100% agree. the law is a joke at the present moment. a home invader should leave their rights on your doorstep.

3 or 4 men come in.... reasonable force is gone.

You’ve got grounds for compensation there for wrongful prosecution like he was the one that broke into your house
How about you offer the intruders milk and cookies, and politely suggest that they take anything they like to their heart’s desire?!
😂😂
😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
The UK is great and all that, but my god the government has left y'all defenceless sheep to the wolves.
Its not great anymore, nothing about it is great
So go to your kids and wait for the attacker to come to you and your kids and say "hey im about to stab you" THEN ACT 😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
An Englishman’s home is his castle … police clearly repudiate that concept
lol you go break into 1 of their houses and see what happens, they be the 1st ones to use force.
Come into my house with bad intentions and I don't care, either you leave when asked ONCE or you may be putting your life at risk.
Alright Batman...

It should not even be illegal to protect your right to live.
I would gladly serve time knowing that there would be one less burglar able to threaten me or mine again.
That was his first reply. it was unbelievable!! well if it was so rare why would we need to be having this conversation?
The criminal is allowed to do anything they want.

You can't punch a burglar 😂😂😂
Even the police officer isn't able to answer what reasonable force is. It's not lookin good brav this is mad.

Not everything is black and white not everyone deserves to die so to speak
Listen I'm right there with the wrest of the community
If someone breaks in and my children or wife is in immediate danger
I'll do everyone in my power to see that they are not going to make it
But if I'm upstairs with the kids their down stair sure I'll go down stairs if possible
Chances are there's atleast 2 he's not alone should always go with that assumption
So call the police immediately obviously
Stay upstairs if they come up then clearly they have to enter 1 of ur children's or ur room putting u or ur family in immediate risk ..after all their not coming upstairs to use ur bathrooms
After that this doesn't matter
Sure u will be taken in because this country is fucking backwards
But once the world hears u stopped a thief in the night or potentially a rapist or child snatcher U DONT KNOWW WHAT THEY ARE UR NOT EXPECTED TO WAIT AND FIND OUT
Know one can argue that defense u have to make a judgement on the fly
If he dies he dies
Hahahahahha what a joke the UK is
The law is wrong change the law
Uk police are a joke we need a massive law change a 2nd amendment type home defence law
