    I love to see how the ladies use natural cleaners like sodium bicarbonade instead of tons of toxic things like bleach. this is why I appreciate this show a lot more than watching the "obsessive compulsive cleaners".

    • @battlesister1559
      @battlesister1559 2 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      I'm sure the cleaning crew uses it out of cameras, they show the natural ones because it's more cheap and still useful for the viewers instead of "use this one product 🤪 and watch how much it cleans". But there is no way they are cleaning this whole mess without using bleach though.
      On a side note, these ladies aren't obsessive compulsive cleaners so they aren't irrational enough to clean everything with 29573992 gallons of bleach every day like some of the people in that show do.

    • @PearlMagnolia
      @PearlMagnolia ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Battle Sister, I owned a residential cleaning business for 27 years and rarely used chlorine bleach. Instead I used hydrogen peroxide, isopropyl alcohol (90%), baking soda, and white vinegar. I'm also a certified aromatherapist and created blends for clients who wanted them. Also plain unscented dish soap is wonderful. Bleach is a last resort and only very tiny amounts.

    I like how Kim knows what sort of language and tone to use depending on who she's talking to. She gives a good grilling to the naughtier grime offenders and in episodes like this, she uses a gentler, friendlier tone towards people like Melinda who need gentler persuasion.
    I'm like that myself. I can handle frankness and honest critique but I respond much better to genuine concern or kindness. What I don't like is being shamed or humiliated because then I begin to oppose whoever it's coming from. I'm a fly you attract with honey, not vinegar, and I know some people who use straight up acid.

      The shelves removed and hosed down outside before before plunged into a CLEAN sink of hot soapy water and scrubbed like madness.

      I've had years of abuse, multiple deaths in my family and I've had breast cancer and been severely depressed but I've never let my house or myself go. This isn't depression this was laziness that ended in her becoming depressed and self loathing because of her realising her foul way of living and habits drove her daughter out of her life. Most of the people who appear on these shows are just lazy.

    I have 3 friends who all live (seperatly) like this. Try to help them and they turn on you. I refuse to go to their houses now as I simply dont want to breathe in their filth.
    One has a daughter who suffers with her breathing- in and out of hospital- yet refuses to open windows or clean anything. I always get defensive, smart remarks when I try to clean up for her. She then goes to sandwich shops etc and starts picking fault in their hygiene which really makes me laugh.
    Yes I understand that some people have a hoarding problem must mainly this is down to laziness initially then denial when it gets beyond them.

Without any judgement on my part, I believe the majority of these people have serious mental issues, and the state of their homes are just a symptom of their issues. It’s one thing to have a messy house, just in need of a good vacuum and tidying up. It’s a whole other issue to live surrounded by heaps of rotten garbage and flies.
