I’ve been thinking about replacing all of the linkages on my 04 c5z for a week or so. This video is my sign to ignore my crying debit card and buy more car parts. Wish me luck when my wife finds out!
I just replaced the front and rear sway bar links on my 2011 c6. Moog brand links really are the best out there. They come with grease fittings that the stock ones don’t have.
The most accurate name is "anti-roll bar", but we tend to think of the structural safety/chassis stiffness type of roll bar when we hear that term. The anti-roll bar or sway bar cannot transfer or shift load (lateral load shift is a result of acceleration, cg height, and track width), but it does limit body roll by tying both sides together which keeps the tire contact patches more level to the ground. The downside to a stiff anti-roll bar is that your suspension is now that much less independent. A bump on one side will get communicated through the bar to the other side.
I went with "upgraded" C6 aluminum sway bar end links and new Bilstein B6 yellow shocks on my '04 coupe. I wouldn't mind upgrading the sway bars to a thicker design. The car still has some body roll during tight cornering. It's still at the factory ride height, I don't want to lower the car but stiffen it up instead. Edit: In the past few days I have purchased some used sway bars. I went with C6 Z51 front and rear bars that are 31mm front and 25.4mm rear with some new red Prothane bushings. I work for a powder coating business so I got them powder coated gloss black. The rear sway bar replaced the tiny 17.5mm sway bar. Come to find out for some reason the 19mm C5 rear sway bar was replaced with the smaller C6 sway bar. I measured the front and rear. The front is the factory 23mm bar. The rear should be around 19.1mm, not 17.5mm. No wonder this Vette handled bad around corners. Should really tighten up the handling with a 31mm and 25.4mm bars with poly bushings. I've already installed the C6 Z51 rear sway bar with the old rubber bushings and the car handles better.
Great video. I did this earlier in the year after returning from a road trip and hearing a slight knocking sound. My shocks were already new so I inspected the links which were shot. Bought my Moog links from Amazon and replace all 4 in less than an hour. Car rides quieter and tighter.
This is the best C5/C6 channel on youtube
I appreciate that!!
Definitely. You won't find another C5 enthusiast who comes anywhere near to this gentleman, as for technical knowledge and competency. 👍

Tell her it's an early Christmas present!
Doing the same to my 04Z this winter

100% agree 👍
Went Z06 all away around on my 2002. Sway bar, links and shocks. Big improvement. Used your video for the shock install.

After dark speed swaybars and end links totally changed the handling
Absolutely!

Added c6 zo6 sway bars on my base and new end links. Felt the difference right away.
I bet!!
Just did mine this summer, 03 z06 boot covers were pretty much gone
I changed my plastic ones out to steal ones a few weeks ago on my 2001 C5. One was broken.
Just did all mine. Replaced with OEM though. Felt way tighter in the corners
Many thanks for your excellent channel!
Thank you very much!!!
