    A lovely Sunny morning Street Photography shoot with the Canon 40D and some voice over so you get an idea of what was going on in my head during the walk.
    Bonus points if you can tell me how many times I say cool during the hashtag section of the video!😂

    Great to see the 40d putting out great shots. It's my main camera at the moment and I love it!

    Very cool video showing what the venerable 40D can still do. I loved this! I've gotten my 40D out to stretch its legs in the last few weeks, and I'm loving the beautiful files that it's putting out for me. Still a great camera!

    It's great to see shots with actual shadows, i can't stand how everyone needs to HDR everything.

      Uuurgh, that early 2000’s hdr thing is so overdone it’s ridiculous😂

    Delighted to have discovered your channel, David, and very impressed with your eye for street photography, the accompanying narrative, and the lovely colors your Canon 40D is delivering.
    Also neat to find a video made so recently devoted to the so-many-generations "old" 40D. I've owned mine since early 2008, and it is well-traveled. It recently threw the dreaded Err-99, which could possibly result in a costly repair. Meantime, I saw one on ebay in beautiful condition with a low shutter-actuation count (~7,200) so thought I should snag it. I was happy to find it indistinguishable from new on arrival and your video has tempted me to find a nice Tamron 90mm to introduce the "new" 40D to. With all the specs races that tend to convince buyers they need the very latest in digital tech, it's so nice to be reminded, by videos like yours, and by my own experience since 2008, of what a solid performer the 40D is, both in build quality/shooting feel and its glorious colors. Oh, yes, I plan to get my original 40D evaluated to see about a repair. Why, with a like-new 40D beckoning to be used? Call me crazy-sentimental, but the answer is simple: Priceless memories the old gal made possible.
    Cheers, and looking forward to more now that I've subscribed,
    Steve

    David, I love your Voice over and the Music was perfect for this video on the 40D. By the way, the 40D was my first digital camera purchase since I got out of the photography game in the mid 80's. I love the image quality of the Canon 40D. Thanks you for sharing David!

      Street Photography is totally different to most when it coms to gear. With the way phone camera tech has been going over the past couple of years, most high-end phones are extremely capable when it comes to street photography and perfectly fine for people to start off with if shooting urban architecture and stuff like that. The obvious problem is if needing a longer focal length for more intimate shots if not wanting to get close to the subject. But at least a phone is far more discreet.

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Absolutely agree when it comes to day shooting. A phone, especially one with multiple lens options is more than enough for many shooters. I've had some lovely images with my Google pixel, but at night it's a different story. I'd much rather have a camera and a prime for that🖖

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial

      No, I shoot raw always so there's always some editing even if it's just pushing some contrast and saturation back in.
      If I remember correctly, a lot of these were edited with my free ' Clearly Autumn ' preset as a base.

    • @DavidFlowerOfficial
      @DavidFlowerOfficial  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      It does have live view, but like a few other Canon cameras from this point in time, it's manual focus only in live view. My understanding is that it's a similar live view seen on the Canon 20Da that was put in to aid focus for astro photography.
