The oil majors operating in the North Sea like Shell and BP have been getting billions in tax rebates since 2015 when the U.K. signed up to the Paris climate accords. Not only did they not pay tax, the Tories have been giving them our money to further pad their wallets.
As for investment, less than 1% of investment from the oil majors since 2015 has been on clean energy. The rest has been poured into destroying the climate and ensuring that the planet becomes uninhabitable. 🌍🔥😢

Well, we have a genealogical relationship with them in that if you stare them in the eye you get a response. I think you'd have to drill uncomfortably deep in order to extract any empathy from them. They're on a planet of their own, or a self-deified part of it, and it seems that we and our fates are of little significance. This is what a continued grasp upon power does and we see it with most politicians, more especially of their ilk, that we are a herd animal, a walking meal ticket to be canalized into doing what THEY want. That's our purpose and it's a 'balance' that they're contented with, as long as nothing disturbs that balance then they're VERY contented parasites. Even Rory Stewart admitted that there is very little sympathy in the make-up of a politician for us 'mere mortals' to connect with. Even being a politician himself, there was no way he could connect with Johnson, threw up his hands, lost all hope and left the party. Every Tory government increases debt and taxes far beyond Labour(the last Labour government even after 2008 had lowered debt compared to GDP and before the US banking collapse had lowered debt to the lowest levels since the Napoleonic wars), this one over 12 years inherited £750 billion of national debt and has run it to around £3 trillion, the highest it's ever been and achieved without war to finance while cutting NHS expenditure, shutting schools, raising taxes to the highest since WW2, scrapping infrastructure projects, scrapping defence projects and so on. So where has all the tax and borrowing gone? That's the real question that needs answering here, where has trillions of Pounds gone, where has it been "spent" to receive so much less while the poor have seen their living standards cut in half? @@jonathano.7109 : 1) no one's saying he should completely abandon his main line of enquiry. 2) what you call distracting lies can become scoring lies if they are allowed to stand unchallenged. 3) Having to hand some true facts about the Tories' actual record should not be beyond Starmer's intellectual capacity, nor, as a barrister, the skill to bring them up at the right moment. Is he too inflexible to do a bit of multi-tasking at the despatch box? 4) Even easier, having to hand the information to counter false claims and half truths Johnson fires against Labour. Usually these are classic negative memes which the Tories have landed with the public over time and left unchallenged they increase in value.
      5) Johnson has become extremely predictable. He's recycling his 'top' lines and he's presumably being advised to carry on because it's scoring on some level.
