Just got my comfrey out of the mailbox! I ordered 20 cuttings, they look great and I can't believe it only took 3 days to get here ( NC to IL ). Came with a Thank You card and instructions. Thumbs up to Billy, Michelle and William. Thanks!! Look forward to planting as soon as the weather stops bouncing around.

Hey, great video. We got 4 or 5 comfrey plants started last year and wow they are wonderful like you say. They were kind of my babies, and a couple weeks ago I came out to the garden and my wife had moved one of our smaller plants . I thought it would really hurt it if not kill it since it was well into the spring, so after I finished hyperventilating, I got some water on it and it perked right up. After a few days of keeping it moist, we didn’t have to give it another thought. Great plants.

I just received my Comfrey order! Yippie! Now I am going to take a lot more care to make sure I get something to sprout. LOL I planted my last order right into the ground here in Tucson, AZ. I am trying to do this in pots in my office this time. I have a south facing window that gets a lot of light, so I will have pots on the floor again for a while.
Now I am going back to watch the pertinent videos to make sure I do not mess things up again unnecessarily. I am fully persuaded that we will have great success this time. I will definitely let you know how it goes.

@@PermaPasturesFarm21 Well all I can say is yall have done an awesome job. I know a lot of people in permaculture don't like grass but to me, it has its place. I love a beautiful lush green grass yard. I leave mine high and cut it on the highest setting on my lawnmower. I have white clover and red clover mixed in with it, among lots of other natives (weeds as some call them) plants. Eventually, after cutting over and over I am hoping it will build up the soil and turn to more native grasses and less of the undesirable plants.

I have both types of comfrey. It wasn’t doing well because I foolishly planted it around the base of a power pole. I just got about a dozen bocking 14 comfrey plants started in my garden and they are taking off! If you cut them down to propogate by root, as you did in the video, would the long taproot grow back if you hadn't put the crown back in the ground? If so, you'd have two plants in one spot, one from the broken taproot and one from the split crown.

The comfrey in the shade seems to be growing fine but the comfrey in the sun ain't growing at all. I guess it can't handle this hot central Texas sun. I'm finding that most of the seeds and plants that say full sun, ain't talking about Texas sun.

The standard practice is to remove and sell the topsoil when they build a house. So instead of the great "swamp" soil, all that's left is sand. All that to say... I am using bag soil while I build up my soil. Will this be ok?

    • @PermaPasturesFarm21

Comfrey is a dynamic accumulator so all of the beneficial minerals that it mines in the earth is deposited into its leaves. It’s not only great animal fodder but great in the garden because it can be used as a fantastic mulch layer, or as a means to shade out unwanted things.

God did not create starving children. God created humans to have free will and humans chose and still choose to make bad, selfish and evil choices. Most famines have human causes (war, ideology, greed, stupidity). To rescue humans from the consequences of our terrible choices, God (Jesus) took on human nature and went through normal human suffering as well as one of the most horrible deaths conceived by man. God does not promise us an easy life. He does promise to always bring good out of evil, to always forgive the repentant and to eventually mete out justice to those who do evil (like cause famines) and don't repent.
