I made confrey tea to consume after surgery. The Hospital does not allow herbal remedies, so we pretended it was coffee. I drank a full thermos right after esophageal surgery. I was told 5 days hospitalization post surgery. My healing was so remarkable, I was released in 24 hours!

Last year I identified some comfrey that was growing just to the west of the house. This year I thought I found more. I thought cool. Then I saw that the deer were not chomping on the new that I found. Let it all grow. Did you know that comfrey and foxglove have a similar appearance in early growth? Check the leaves. Foxglove (toxic) leaf edges are serrated. Comfrey leaf edges are smooth. Careful out there folks, you don't want to make a tea out of the wrong plant! 62 and still learnin'.

I broke BOTH ankles (crazy huh!?) stepping off patio into a soft spot (snapped outer strap RT ankle) then because it was out did a windmill twist fall and fractured the Left ankle and Mets. Freaked out on shear panic energy I crossed the yard and gathered an armload of comfrey! I sat and dosed Arnica like a mad woman while chopping comfrey fine for packing the ankles after X-RAY showed no displaced bones. Was walking painfree and blew Drs minds 3 weeks later at 1st Orthopedist check out! Yay, comfrey!

If you use comfrey on a wound, be sure to wait until the wound closes. The comfrey causes such fast healing, that it can cause the skin to heal over before the inner part of the wound has healed, and you could end up with a pocket of pus sealed in. I split my face open across the bridge of my nose. I had to get stitches, but as soon as the skin closed, I started applying a comfrey poultice every night. It healed up so nicely hardly there is really hardly any scar at all.
My chickens love fresh comfrey, while my goats prefer it dried, unless they are not feeling good, and then they'll eat it fresh.

I did that! Used the comfrey straight after the stitches were out, 4 hours later - the wound had closed...with a small pus pocket! I opened it with a needle, drained it - no issue now but right you are, best to wait!

I grew up eating fresh comfrey as a kid. I'd eat just fresh leaves.
As an adult I make it regularly. I blend fresh leaves in the blender with orange juice and bottled peaches. Within a week my face will looks younger and pains in my knee went away. My body better.
My father probly ate more. Comfrey than any living person I'm aware of. He literally lived off it. He lived until 90. Completely coherent until the end.

I would recommend that you ask people who bought it from you to share a 10 second video of how they are using it. Maybe you could compile the videos into one longer video. Here's another recipe for quick comfrey tea fertilizer that a farmer gave me: Cut up enough comfrey to 3/4 fill a ninja 12 - 16 oz. oz container and add water. Don't pack it too tight . Turn on the blender until it's cut up real fine. Do that process three times. Take your three containers of comfrey and put it in 15 gallons of non chlorinated water . Stir the solution once a day for three days. Mix it up to 50/50 with water and fertilize your plants. I use Bocking 14 Russian Comfrey, it's NPK is 1.8-.5-7.9. Simple and effective. Good luck.

We have comfrey allover our farm: in the permaculture orchard, in the hoop house, in our row crop field, in our small vineyard, in our young food forest.
We use it for "chop'n'drop" mulch, in our JADAM barrel, around our walnut trees.
The chickens ADORE the flowers, it's a great delicacy to them. During the winter I will crumble some in the chicken feed, along with dried oregano, thyme, yarrow...
I dry the leaves, and infuse avocado oil to use in salves and soaps. Just this evening I made a dry poultice for Mr Rosehaven's sprained finger...after a few hours, could bend his finger without pain.

Ya'll ain't hit on my favorite use of comfrey. Weed suppression around fruit trees. I stomp it down *after* it stops blooming. It grows again from the crown. When that new growth stops blooming, stomp it down again in a different direction. Lather, rinse, repeat. After the fall/winter, all weeds are suppressed where the comfrey was laying.

Bees have had their fill of the flowers and it's leaning over the lawn and smothering surrounding plants so I'm going to chop lots back and shred it into my potato bags.

One came up a couple of weeks ago and within these past few days they all started coming up. I had previously bought from another source and only half of them came up and none of them ended up surviving. The ones I bought from Perma Pastures as very hardy. I can't wait till they grow larger so I can plant them all around my garden.

Just harvested 90% of my comfrey. I’ve transplanted root sections all over and still have about 1-200 left over. I’m going to plant a comfrey patch to generate enough for everything else I want to try with comfrey as this video suggested. I also used the leaves in mulch rings and some in a bucket of water to make comfrey tea for the garden.
Wish I had a website to sell some root cuttings. Trouble is I have common comfrey, Bocking 4 and 14, can’t tell them apart. Oh well…

@@brachashighhopeshomestead226 Bocking 14 (I’m not sure about 4)-named after a town in the UK where it was developed, I believe, is the less invasive form of comfrey-the kind you want. It is propagated by root cuttings. If you get regular comfrey via seed propagation, I’m told it can be wildly aggressive. I just started growing comfrey so am no expert, but this is what I’ve read online from several sources.

Hey! Did you dry the comfrey before you made the tea or did you use fresh leaves? If you dry the leaves then make tea out of that, you get more flavor. If you used fresh leaves, you're getting more of a comfrey broth than a tea.

I’m not sure about ticks and rosemary but if you plan to grow rosemary and you live in an area where it gets cold, be sure to get cold hardy rosemary because some types cannot survive cold weather. I’ve tried to overwinter rosemary in Oklahoma City area (zone 7) and have never had any live through our winters. I doesn’t stay cold for long but it can get really cold for short snaps, we get ice storms, and it can be very dry in fall/winter. I purchased some cold hardy variety from a place that specializes in high country desert plants and am hoping they thrive here with minimal care. My plan is to propagate from the plants I purchased to make more “bushes” later. Rosemary is quite easy to propagate. Just cut a piece a few inches long, stick in water, change water every 2-3 days and roots will grow rather quickly.
