@@craighicksartwork One of the things I love most about it is how the guest actors consistently nailed their roles. In this case, the woman reacting to Andy saying "This belongs to my son" just has the perfect facial expressions to convey both sympathy and how awkward it must be to be in a situation like that.

Here's the thing: the scene stays with you, its not just a show. Dennis Franz was known as a Shakesperean actor before this show, and boy did he bring it to the table. This scene is a testament to the power emotional of fidelity in acting: the more perfect you play a note, the less loud it needs to be; you can call it hi-fi acting.

I HATED Andy in the beginning. Thanks to Sylvia, Bobby, Capt. Fancy, Danny, etc, we got to see him get his act together and become a fantastic detective and an even better friend, father and husband. Loved when Lt. Fancy took Andy out for ribs. Also loved when John Irvin offered to watch Theo...Andy turned him down. Danny told him, "Andy, he's gay not a child molester''. Andy grew to love John. Didn't blame him when Sylvia died either. I miss this show. One of my all time favorite series.

It’s good to have the writers, directors and the brilliant Dennis Franz show us Andy Sipowicz’s vulnerable side in a credible and dignified way. What a fascinating character! One of the best ever on television!

What makes this so powerful I think is that the actor who plays Andy sr. doesn't break character and starts to just cry and weep. "Oh my god." feels lake it is raw emotion trying to break through the hard shell that he put up to emotionally protect him self from the job.

This scene ruined my night. I just finished this episode, I ordered food beforehand and I kid you not, my hunger went away. The acting here is spectacular, brilliant scene. I love Andy in this show, and seeing him go through this really saddened me. I also have a son, and this is my worst fear. Andy Jr was such a great young man, I was expecting him to become a cop and seeing Andy guide him and mentor him throughout his career, but damn, they just killed him off. I'm in disbelief.
