  • 2021 Wheat Harvest near Lone Wolf Oklahoma
Video I filmed on the evening of June 5, 2021 near Lone Wolf Oklahoma. I'm out in the field with Stegman Harvesting from Spearville Kansas as they are custom harvesting wheat for a local farmer. In the video I talk about the equipment used and a little history on the area. I have a few more videos from the area as I spent the weekend in this area filming various farming videos for my TH-cam channel.

Nice footage. I did the wheat harvest summer of 1985 right after I graduated from college. My inspiration was the old National Geographic article from around 1970. My crew was out of Pond Creek, OK but the first stop was down in El Dorado, OK across the river from Quanah, TX. A lot of memories from that summer.

We are about 3 weeks away from wheat harvest here in southern Michigan. Dad and I just received our 2 new to us gleaner s98 combines ours are on tracks We farm over 8500 acres and custom farm for others as well. We decided to trade in our 2 s680 johndeere combines for the gleaners . We used to run them back years ago but we switched to deere for capacity in the early 2000s but now the s series gleaners can keep up just fine. When we first looked into the gleaners we tested a gleaner s98 along side a 9870sts johndeere and the gleaner did very well. We will run the 2 gleaners along with a 9870sts johndeere and all the combines will run 40 foot gerinhof truflex razor heads. Gleaners are lightweight simple and provide a great grain sample . We added extensions to the unload augers and we upgraded the concaves and straw choppers for extra capacity. Great video keep up the good work and stay safe!

    • @anthonybanda8192

@@TwinElmFarms no pictures. My family is really uptight about pictures and videos for security and privacy reasons . I wanted to make a channel a few years back but I have to respect their feelings. We think the tracks are going to help especially in the fall when we harvest our double crop soybeans We tend to harvest double crop soybeans into mid November and mudd can be an issue due to the freeze and thaw . We had to special order the tracks and then install them they are 30 inch camso tracks . Take care!

@@walterwurz5898 Estes high performance concaves. We have had very good luck with them especially in soybeans . We can run at a higher ground speed and threash the grain more efficiently. They can be pricey but we have ran them for over 10 years now with great results.

you hear good things while they still work. lots of the blocks around my place have the smaller vineyard tractors with the Supersteer they have a horrible habit of braking after some time they really like to eat bearings on the main pivot and there mainly on New Holland so its extra shit. the work shop next to my block has the same 3 New Hollands with the Supersteer come in every year after harvest needing lots of shit to be fixed. most tractors can turn just a well with out the fancy Supersteer these days.

Wikipedia claims Hobart gets 26 inches of precipitation each year. Seems on the wetter years there would be some double cropping and especially when grain prices are high. Certainly looks like enough soil moisture to get a good start to milo or beans.
Dont care what color the rim is. Just want a tractor that don't break down.
