The trailer looks absolutely amazing. November 19th can't get here soon enough. With winter coming after the release and too cold to do anything but go to work winter flying will be great. Christmas come early in November!!.
Absolutely! I think this new Sim will amaze a lot of people.
I would HOPE SO! That's the whole purpose of the trailer. But i will wait, i have fs2020... and i have fun with it. I will wait to see what is different under the hood. I don't see a lot of cities: i want to see if melted buildings and oversized trees are still an issue and whether the LOD has been increased. I believe most of the video is of the "missions" which could be a lot of cutscenes. Will ATC be better? Will roads look better. VFR is good enough in ms2020 now, except with all the big trees, even major highways are covered and hidden by trees, not easy to do flying by landmarks at times. Will this be msfs 2024 or MSfs 2020 2.0? Playing another 100 bucks is not that much for a game, but not if it's just visual update...and it still has to run on xbox series X so unless they added a lot of magic dust to the software, those moving people will take up a lot of CPU/video power... That's WHY i think it's cut scenes of the missions and we won't see it in otherwise. With better graphics of msfs2020, it makes we realize how "unalive" the world is. That's why clouds, winds weather, airplane movement through the air, car traffic, boat traffic is so important. I don't see animals or birds when i take off from country areas... Only in the missions, maybe. Come on everyone, ALL ABOARD THE HYPE TRAIN, i mean, hype plane. Not one second of planes going through clouds. Nice video, but shows not much.
I'll give it a year to be developped to a useable state .... like i did with MSFS2020 and XP12 .
The first year is always beta-testing in the community .
Let's hope, that MSFS2020 in the current reliable state will be accessible for a long period, until Microsoft will give us " some good reasons " to change over to 2024.

jan is summer in my part of the world. i will wait until summer holidays to make sure that all my fave addons work, and listen to performance reviews, before updating. looks amazing but i’m happy to stick with 2020 if needed.

It looks absolutely stunning. I hope DLC carries over, we'll see I suppose. Even though its on Gamepass, this will be a day one purchase again for my XSX.
I think the majority of Addons will carry over (or truly hope so).
I hadn’t seen the trailer (yay) or the release date (boo), so thanks for highlighting both. I hope us console types will have access to things like little nav map connectivity, and the ability to download and use free airport and scenery enhancements. I think it’s possible, with more of the computing power coming from the cloud.
Let's hope we get all that good stuff.
Looks great Huddison! I did see some airliner liveries, United & KLM, I hope they add that in with all the AI traffic true to the specific airport & region, that would be awesome!

oh I do hope they fix the float plane dynamics and being able to save weather and use it anywhere and not having beeing locked to certain place. I will wait till perhaps next Spring or later unless MSN makes us change.

Remember them hangers in 2020 were "in-game" footage too. I think a trip down MSFS 2020 memory lane needs to be recalled. So much in-"GAME" footage and 4 years later when a large airliner lands it disappears because there is no parking big enough at a major int'l airport. This trailer is all for streamers and screenshot takers 'hype hype hype' - all about vanity, very little about aviation.

Yh your spof on there bud. All trailers feel like that nowadays. Like when the football game ads just started showing famous players faces and new goal celebrations.
I imagine them all sat at a table discussing micro transactions and graphics and when someone asks about actual gameplay improvements they just look at them in a funny way.
@@nvstewart I choose not to be a fool and gawk over hype and plain lies. BTW I did not try to call them liars, they are liars, just look/listen to all the lies in the 2020 feature presentions. Don't you remember how most fell for the first 2020 trailer....4 years later, with 15 sim and 16 world updates, yet there are still thousands of issues all over the spectrum - with so many totally ignored. I see this easy because I'm not fooled by the love of screenshots. I can only hope this new venture (mission set) will fail like the 2020 reno blunder. Lessons need to be learned and a majority of this community is plainly to blame because of their love of the almighty screenshot. 🧐
What about all our button assignments on the Velocity One Yoke? That would be a real headache to redo.
Great comment: I fear we might have to redo our bespoke assignments; but there will likely be default ones set up.
Who knows, they might let us carry our cloud settings across.
If it is like the FS2020 that after 15 updates Microsoft/Asobo cannot deliver a smooth flight sim for the PC, it will take a long time before I purchase FS2024. Every time an update came out, one thing was improved, while many others were destroyed!! Likewise with the SU15 - although heralded as the "holy grail" - where the stuttering increases instead of disappearing. And it is certainly not a hardware problem of the PC, as with the SU14 which, at least for me, had virtually no stutters. (google translated)
I can't wait. It looks really fantastic in the trailer . Hopefully, the pc requirements are not overwhelming. Like maybe we can get by without much upgrading. Great video thanks.

This could be "the one" that finally has everything from animals everywhere, people everywhere and able to be controlled, trains (I hope)....everything! Since I started in FS98 I've wanted it to develop into an everything sim but with an emphasis on aviation. Just me dreaming.
Do you realize that you will need a 4090 and more if you want that? MSFS 2024 needs to run on an xbox series X... all these moving people, and what not, are from "cut scenes" in the missions. Unless they worked magic on the software, i doubt we will see these other than in the mission. I like missions, but i like free flight better.

The trees in LA are still waaaay too big and the Miami scenery looks no better than 2020 apart from the ships. I’m not holding out too much hope here.
With hot air balloons, etc. I'm really hopeful for an autogyro in the game!
I'm quite excited about that too.
One thing i really noticed is the height of the trees, looks incredible and very realistic.
We know from the development streams that the trees are more accurate in terms of the region they originate from, so when you combine that with them being suseptable to wind and being seasonal as well, it will make for quite a big difference.

With November 19th 2024 being so close to the new year, I'm surprised Asobo and Microsoft didn't call it MSFS 2025. That's why Microsoft should have a version number rather than the year, it would have been more appropriate to call it MSFS 12 (FSX was FS 10, MSFS 2020 would have been MSFS 11).

Well, I know I have to invest in a new pc. 😅 But from what I can see in the trailer this looks mindblowing. I'm so excited! I'm sure it will have its problems, at least in the beginning. But it's an entirely new sim, so I have high hopes. 👌

I’m only wanting and interested in a better FLIGHT SIM……NOT a flight type video game with careers ! I want something I can practice my flying skills on when I can’t go flying in the real thing !
I'm similar... But I want a flight sim that has a career mode to it that allows you to make flights and progress along a path with rewards for completions.
So a sim with gaming elements... Something that encourages me to fly with purpose instead of just aimlessly. (I'm not a real pilot, so I have no need to 'practice my skills')
I just want to fly, and having goals makes it more interesting.
@@crooker2 I'd be amazed if what has been included in the videos turns out to be an actual career mode. It'll more likely be a series of adhoc missions that will give a taste of various types of flying. Not that that's a bad thing, but if you want an actual career mode, I'd expect that you'd still need to get an addon.

I don't get your complaint in the first place.. what's stopping you from selecting the plane you want to practice in and take it for a spin?
Are you suggesting that they should take everything out of the sim that doesn't fit your purpose, just because you're not going to use it? What is the point of your comment?

Just before Black Friday so I expect this to be reduced heavily for Asobo to get people to jump on the bandwagon. I got my 2020 in Nov 2020 for £41 for the Std edition. Will keep my 2020 & have a spare partition waiting for 2024 & Installed on a different Xbox account to 2020.
Also they will pick up alot of Christmas sales. £40 is about the right price for this considering people bought 2020.
Gamepass will be the better way to fly with this one IMO.
My concern is how will it run on Xbox series x. We have had more then enough problems with the current version. They have taken so long to sort out 2020 and it still isn’t fixed. I for one will wait and see before rushing to buy it. Sorry to be so negative but Microsoft and Asbo are responsible
Those are fair observations & comments. Let's hope FS2024 is more stable from the get go.
I would be very surprised if they haven't optimized it better than 2020. But again, Asobo are a French company. So it might be a coin flip.
Is the vr and touch controller support going to be as disappointing with this release as it was in the current version?
I love playing the game with virtual controllers but other flight sims handled it much better than MSFS. Flight controls, flip switches, dials and knobs should work comprehensively... But, sadly they don't.

@@Huddison It's what's sadly lacking in MSFS2020. I pre-purchased the pro-bundle when it was first released knowing (hoping) that they would integrate VR into it eventually. I was excited when they finally did... but disappointed by the lack of attention to user experience. I'm hoping, with VR attention from the beginning, that it will be done correctly off the hop.
I'm skeptical. "In-game footage" could simply mean the loading animation. The actual game graphics could be no better than MSFS 2020. We'll see.
It'll have to be a significant improvement for me to consider buying it, and even then, I'll watch the forums for issues before I'll even consider it. I got MSFS 2020 October 2022 and struggled with the CTD bug from the second time I ran it, right up until about a month ago, all while they were claiming they were working on it. It was several NVIDIA updates that finally appears to have fixed it. Their lack of communication during all that time showed a complete lack of respect for the customer. I will proceed with great caution this time.
I'll be making (hopefully) day one videos on it.
I'll wait couple of years and 55 updates, we are talking microsoft, after all.
I'd be really happy if they did something to improve the flight model for helicopters. The rest I don't really care about.
My one hope there is career progression along side licensing like reality - Airline for instance work through prop - turbo prop - jet etc aircraft.
And not just scenarios....

Wonder how many weeks it will take to download? Especially starting Nov 19! Would be nice if there was an upgrade option but sounds like it is stand alone. I don’t have room on my PC for both sims but it looks fantastic. Peaked my interest.

I fly on Xbox so I have a lot of concerns regarding 2024. Will we be forced to give up 2020? Will all the planes we bought work in 2024 or do we sacrifice $600 worth of purchases. Will the Xbox release date be the same as PC? In the end, I'll believe it when I see it. I'm still pissed that this last update loaded all the crap I deleted in the past and now my storage is full of crap I can't delete because the DELETE key seems to have been deleted as well from the content manager.

It's not exactly the most significant detail in the trailer, but those 'helicopters' racing are actually autogyros. Still, I'm sure my Bulldog will be able to beat the lot of 'em!
the commercial aviation part was not included in the career section. is that an accident? surely it’s an included career? it also looks like they have passengers.
I think i'll have to wait till I upgrade my computer to be able to run this.

Although walking around has huge implications and for me that stands out massively. It also makes the mission content far more dynamic and opens up a massive opportunity to both third party scenery and aircraft developers.

MSFS has/is turned into a beautiful Google Earth with a joystick with no soul and questionable flight dynamics.
I regret spending so much on addons seeing how the last "update" broke a lot of them. Hope not but I feel 2024 will wipe the addon hangers clean on all but the devs held in high regard/standing with MS.
Im sure my RTX 3080, 32GB DDR4 "3600" speed Ram, 4.7K I7 & Sammy 970/980 1 TB Evo M2 SSD's will cope with it.

I read some time ago that one of the goals for FS2024 was to move more of the sim to the cloud (on demand) to free up more hard drive space on a user's computer. I would look for the World Updates to be downloaded from the Cloud as needed instead of being stored locally.
Good point as there are probably a lot computers with full memory.
Being cloud based could also cause problems if one doesn’t have fast internet speeds.
SU15 was horrible for my Xbox S....so...how is the FS24 going to be any better. For sure, I will wait until many TH-cam videos reviews have been produced...before I make that leap. And right now....I don't think I will be leaping. PERIOD>

They'll have to change the title if it is.
"Virtually all" is entirely meaningless, it enables 50% of the addons not to work and if you complain Microsoft will just say "well virtually all the others do".
Something else, with the world covered 3/4 with water and all these float and seaplanes in the sim including famous flyers, you might thing they would have a way to actually take off from the water and not at 7000 feet ( unless you have a thing about flying in Alaska). Maybe all these float planes will be useful and not like a 16 year old cheer leader, nice to look at, but useless. Cheers!
I think you will need a super high end PC and GPU to run this. I can't imagine X-box will even run it Maybe the end of Xbox ? I certainly won't be shelling out thousands of dollars to buy a mega PC just to run this. Perhaps they have a super duper new Xbox in the works that will run it?
It _has_ to run well on Xbox; otherwise it's the death of the franchise (at least on console).

Note:
- According to Jorg, 40-50% of entire player base is on Xbox
- On Xbox, all addons have to be purchased through the FS Marketplace... where MS take a cut of the revenue (I believe ~30%) whereas on PC they can (for the majority of addons) be purchased externally, from which MS gets 0 revenue
Logically therefore, a significant proportion of the ongoing revenue from the sim (which is a significant proportion of what keeps a product being updated and improved) comes from Xbox... which, especially when you consider that gamepass / xbox gold (which I think is now also called gamepass lite or something) is required to play FS on Xbox... It would be logical to assume that at least, but probably > 50% (maybe substantially more) of overall revenue to MS comes from Xbox players.
Added to that, FS is one of the Halo Xbox GamePass games for MS - both as a incentive to acquire more subscribers, but perhaps just as importantly, a message to Xbox partners "Look, we eat our own dog food - MSFS runs natively on our console (unheard of prior to ~2020) and we make it available day one on gamepass... (you should do the same...)"
As such... the "issues" which MicroSobo may have in getting FS to perform well on console.. would have to be immense in order for them to consider dropping console support for 2024... it would effectively be saying to both consumers and partners "Our console is just a toy, and not up to the task of running a serious simulation"... and the damage that would do to their brand would undoubtedly be more than the cost of making it work on console...
(+ for what it's worth, it does say on the trailer that it is coming out on Series S and X... Yeah, companies can lie... but really... would they put out a trailer 6 months prior to release saying this is coming on Xbox... at the **XBOX** showcase... if that were not to be the case????)
Now... does that mean that 2024 will categorically run perfectly in full fidelity on series S consoles... or that it will not have any issues on series X consoles??? No, of course not... but from a business perspective, you can be certain that MS will be doing their utmost to make sure it is at least up to their standards of playability. One of the targets (and motivators for) the relatively close release of 2024 after 2020, is to address some of the legacy constraints and bloat of the current engine - and to give a lighter weight install and better performance on lower end systems... which includes Xbox...
So yeah... no death of Xbox imminent as far as FS is concerned - it would be too detrimental to MS, even if a high end gaming PC will give a better overall experience with respect to performance and graphics quality.
@@danlance Thanks Dan, I take comfort in your thoughts and explanation. The reason I bought xbox was hopefully to future proof msfs as upgrading PC's & GPU's can be a very expensive exercise and one that I'm keen to avoid (at least for a couple more years). Cheers.

Don't count on it being in the "Standard" version. I thought I was going to get the Cessna 172 with analog gauges and was very disappointed to see that you have to pay an extra $30 for the Deluxe version to get it. It was too late before I found out.

I just hope it has decent flying lessons like FSX did. FS2020's flying lessons are a complete joke. Nothing about radio navigation at all. Nothing about how to operate the Garmins. Also how about including some instructions on how to operate the actual planes for once? Because I didn't find trying to operate an Airbus entirely by guesswork to be particularly enjoyable.

The game is going to be a joke I see it happening already. No one wants careers we want a good Sim that has no bugs and a game that uses more then a single thread.

@@MikeInExilewe’ll get the flight model on a different core, that’s it as that’s what they said, so not a lot, but that alone is great, should have been done decades ago but finally here it is and that should help a reasonable amount, but we also don’t know if anything else has been added to the cores that get hit the hardest, like the soft body physics for example.
We want both, and the people working on the career stuff wouldn’t be working on bugs and CPU stuff so that doesn’t matter. But, as this is still Assobo we will get the same crap we got with the current one unfortunately when it comes to bugs, stability, and the things that really matter.
