One of the greatest bands in my opinion, in their prime. With an unstoppable amount of pure talent. With the ability to be even better on stage, and one of the only bands, I'd listen to a live performance like it's made in a studio. They try so hard, they always have, and they deserve so much more respect and credit then they receive. There's so much more behind the singing and playing, theirs emotion and passion. They just get up there and go fucking crazy. I FUCKING LOVE THE USED!
To be fair, his singing voice has gotten significantly better. He may have had to give up screaming, and he did have a wicked scream, but I'm glad he can still sing better than ever. Additionally, you don't need screams at all to sound hardcore. This version of the band was the most post hardcore version of them, but the main reason they aren't like this anymore isn't because Bert doesn't scream. It's because the instrumentals they're writing are WAY softer than before. If they wrote this style of dissonant and abrasive tunes again but also incorporated the skill and complexity they've all gained as a band over the years, I think they'd be as good as they were from In Love & Death and before.
Christian Crowder Sorry dude. I know it sucks but he had to have vocal chord surgery and screaming could cause him to permanently lose his voice. I have been going to their concerts for over 10 years now and trust me, the energy is still intense with or without the screaming.
Zal Sethna lt's all good, I got to see him live and he put on a good performance. I was extremely close and he sounded good, so I'm happy with the results. The guitarist filled in for all the screaming and he did pretty well at it. Still one of my favorite bands.

When it comes to live The Used shows, Bert back then definitely had his on days and his off days. This was DEFINITELY one of his on days. Fucking briliant performance. Compare to the New Year's 2003 show in London, which was definitely an off day.

thank god they left warner since their contract was up...im interested to see what they can do without the pressure and bullshit that comes along with a major label. i saw an interview with dan whitesides saying they might just start their own thing
