this video is sponsored again by helix and not by lenovo, but i really like handhelds so i like looking them over and seeing what i like and dont. picking up the legion go was a real treat. i love the size of the screen, the speed, trackpad, joysticks, and grips. cons might be battery (but to be honest i felt like it was much better on this device than on the rog ally) and that it is a bigger, heftier handheld so it's not so portible for some, also the sound quality is nowhere as good as the rog ally's and it doesn't sound as loud either. overall, it has been a positive experience with the device and i do recommend it. all of the handhelds i've used so far have been wonderful imo. all of them have something unique to them. i'll have to see how things progress over time with the firmware, etc on the legion go.
if you want to watch more videos i suggust you look for more "lenovo content" on youtube that go more in depth with the specs/etc, this is a more light hearted type of review style.

Seeing these games being played on a handheld is very scifi-ish to me. We went from computers being the size of a building, to having a handheld that can play even a game like alan wake 2. Love it.

I will say that unless you play the first Alan Wake & Control, most of this game won't make any sense. I actually think I need to play both Max Payne's & Quantum Break to understand the whole universe. It's unlike anything I've ever played: the motion capture, story & production is ridiculously unique!

do you really need to play first Alan Wake before 2nd, I thought it was not necessary, game is more than 10 years old.
@@catplantASMRyou'd miss many references by not playing the first alan wake and control (control is set in the same universe as alan wake), but you can totally just watch a recap of those 2 games on youtube to catch up. I'm like 12 hours into it that game's incredible!

Out of the games I've played based on the VGA:
-Spider-Man is top tier.
-Mario Wonder is great but it's "just" Mario, it does what it does well but it does what is expected of it.
-RE4 Remake was amazing, enough so I platinumed it on PS5, but I personally feel remakes shouldn't win GotY since it's not a new title.
I haven't played Alan Wake 2 but I hear it's amazing, I have it downloaded but I have other games I need to finish first. Baldur's Gate 3 I haven't tried but I hear nothing but amazing things.
So, for me in the current state of my experiences Spider-Man 2 wins

I love these super informal, relaxing tech review/gaming-style videos. Very informative, but also VERY relaxing. I own a launch model Steam Deck right now and I'm loving it, but I'm always interested in PC handhelds that have their own unique features. They all have their pluses and minuses it seems. Other than what you mentioned about the sound vs. the ROG Ally, I'm most interested in the Lenovo Legion Go specifically for running PC Game Pass games natively. The one issue I have with the Steam Deck is that it's not possible to run Game Pass Games natively unless you install Windows, which kind of defeats the purpose of Steam OS.

Great video, as usual. Playing DOOM 2 like that with those controllers like a joystick looks awesome--that's how I first played the game as a little kid. I think it was my first ever FPS and I had this jank joystick, lol. Simple times :)

Since Patch 4 the game started to pause a lot of times in Act 3 so it's the game's fault, not your or anyone's machine's.
I read the Patch 5 which just came out fixed these issue but I didn't have the opportunity to test this yet.
