Here are some older magazines of mine, (i actually have a lot of them because i've hoarded them but i'm only going over 2 magazines in this video otherwise this would take foreverrr) i loveeee magazine flipping videos so i figured i'd do one myself! :)
Gaming in the early 2000s was something special. It feels like some of the magic is gone now that the internet has all but killed magazines like game informer. I still have a few issues somewhere. I really miss the days where you could walk into Best Buy or Gamestop and be surprised by something you didn't know existed. That's totally gone now.
it really was magical. kind of like a blockbuster experience but strictly for games :)
Such truth. I remember when BlockBuster was still a thing they let you rent video games; sometimes scratched badly so they were buggy or unplayable, but when you got a good, working game it was like finding the wardrobe to Narnia.
This reminds me of when I first found Oblivion GOTY edition by accident when I was a kid.. had no idea what it was. Ended up getting every Xbox achievement. It was a special time for sure.
You still find stuff out... it just comes from the internet. Just go to best buy and use your phone there 😂 you will always feel nostalgia for certain things by simply getting older, life is constant change
I would agree. Though if you are referring to the era of this particular issue, I would say it’s mid-To-late 2000’s. As the PS3 was released in 2006.

I can't be the only one who got excited to buy the monthly magazines and reading through every page of them to get all the latest gaming news back in the day and then thinking about all the cool games coming out. Also the artwork on the covers were always very nice to look at :) Nice ASMR, I love the page flipping sounds.
You are not alone. The gamesradar, G2, and game informer magazines were on monthly rotation. Used to get so excited to see all the gaming news. 1999-2010 was a different time.

I used to go to the public library and sit there and read whatever latest issues they had. Game Informer, Nintendo Power. Those were the days :)
Bro so many people don’t believe me when I tell them I read about Fortnite in like 2013/14 in a Game Informer magazine, though naturally there wasn’t a battle royal mentioned in it, but I remember being hyped for the survival mode that they talked about, part of me wishes they had stuck with their old vision but they’d never have seen the huge success they have.
Jak, Ratchet & Clank and Sly Cooper are all legendary. Every one of their games are classic
I remember borrowing that exact issue of PSM at 28:42 from my neighbor and reading through it many times. This was really nostalgic. Definitely one of my favorite videos you've made.
I absolutely loved this video and I've been watching/listening to it on repeat while I work. I'd love to see more of these, it could even be a series where you dig up old gaming magazines and flip through them. It could actually be any type of magazine that you're into. I'd watch it!
This is nostalgic, reminds me of when I used to buy these. I remember the PlayStation magazines where you used to get demo discs for PS1 and PS2. Relaxing and nostalgic, great ASMR as always 💯👍

My god seeing that Kof 13 art of Ryo and Terry just sent me back to that whole era of fighting games starting to emerge again post SF IV. Also the sounds reminded me of just looking over a game informer with a friend during lunch. Good vibes and times.

I love these old gaming magazines, especially nintendo power, its so fun to look at screenshots and artwork you usually cant find online and alot of the time these magazines had exclusive content like dev interviews and such.

Omg, you still have them! I used to buy tons of PS and PC games magazines back in the late 90's and early 2000's! So many memories of the time spent in front of the rear window of the kiosk where I used to buy them and where there were so many of them. I was always wondering "which one should I buy today?" 😱🙈
And the guy of the kiosk that used to give me the keys of that window, to grab myself what I wanted to buy.

Catplant is the best all around ASMR creator. Very soft, lulling voice. Always filmed in high quality. The aesthetic is great. And her interests, knowledge, & skill (Overwatch badass) make her my goat. At least on the Mount Rushmore of ASMR.

Getting the game informer that had original Bioshock on the cover was the sole reason I wanted a 360. I remember showing the article on it to my dad. Eventually got a 360 and I am so glad I wasn't disappointed in the game.
Been at the Beale Street festival in Memphis. Got caught up with your videos last night. Best sleep of my vacation. Counting Crows were here. They sang a song about you. When I think of heaven, I think of a Catplant video. I think of sleeping, she’s been whispering, and I’ve been sleeping and she is the ASMR queen.
When black ops 2 came out that was the first time I ever tried online gaming, blew me away even had the blue tooth headset that came with the PlayStation. Now I tried gaming with a Corded connection in 2019 and never experienced lag anymore. Ps I love your videos, your voice is so soothing 😍❤️

These old game magazines are so nostalgic. I remember when you'd also get free demo cds of a bunch of games and other random stuff. And when you got games from cereal boxes! The whole reason I love RTS games is because of Age of Empires coming with a Kellogs Nutrigrain cereal box, and Warcraft 3 demo disc for free at an electronics store.

Dude, I remember. I felt so betrayed when that happened. Initially I thought for sure my little brother did something stupid then I realized it was actually my fault for trying out that evil demo disc.

This reminded me of back when I used actually subscribe to some magazines like this (once they became too expensive to buy individually at the store), and they came with a CD or DVD with game demos. (For PC, at least. I don't know if console magazines had demo discs or not.)
Syphon Filter 2 on PS1 was probably my favorite game ever. I was a kid and it was a double disc, it took me so long to finish it
