I used to use Torco and I miss the smell of it. But it’s NOT GOOD for bashing and I had to add castor oil to it for bashing and my favorite castor oil is called 1and1 from Novarossi. Bro you got to tell your viewers when you only race at a track and not go crazy bashing at wide open throttle for long periods of time Nitro fuel that’s all synthetic is best because it’s cleaner and always crisper !! Only good for wide open throttle for short period . If the track that you race at has straights that is more then a 3 second wide open throttle? You must use some castor in it! If it’s not ? 100% would be best under the 4 to 3 second mark. Bro when I bash or spank that ass on E-words I’m at wide open throttle for long periods of time on the ground and sometimes in the air and it’s even more important with Modified engines! This is why my TNS .32 and 28-8 has more gallons threw it and outlasted Neal’s own personal nitro engines and I also got a an old school RB Mods Engine that’s 5 years old still runs. This is why the helicopter & airplanes guys only use 100% castor oil because it’s always wide open full throttle for sometimes 10 to 15 minutes straight I said minutes not seconds. This is so different now with our engines for bashing and racing. I used to use Byron’s 30-9 and that had no castor and all synthetic and it burnt much crisper then Torco 30-10 but it killed my engine from bashing when I didn’t race. 30-11 is the best balanced for anyone at anytime and on any engine even small blocks and you can even break in new engines with it if you want but I like to use Byron’s 20-16% Bones brew is great 👍 fuel probably one of the best out and don’t forget about WERKs Fuels but it must be and have a 50-50 mix for me to bash wide open throttle. If I only raced at race tracks I would only use 100% synthetic in my engines even if I had to rebuild my engines much more often but the 30-11 is at that boarder line so I can even race with it and go out and bash ! It’s the perfect mix it’s the only one that is so close to both worlds race or bash .
I totally agree with everything you said mr sahhhhh! Byrons on all my motors and especially modes and i just ordered some novarosi castar 1n1 good shit! Byrons or bust! No torco on the west coast! Only Byrons & vp
muggy maniac I miss the smell of Torco but I don’t miss the engine rebuilds after bashing but I would definitely use and go back to Torco if I raced at the track!! Even the Byron’s 30-9 100% synthetic would be great as well but most likely nowadays I won’t stock up on different fuels anymore I used to have 5 different types of fuel in stock but nowadays all I need is one that will do it all race and bash and that will work on small blocks also besides Big Blocks and that’s the Byron’s 30-11 50/50 synthetic/castor mix. Anything that uses more oil then 11 % the engines will run much hotter and smoky and not as crisp so newbies will mistakenly keep leaning out there engines and frying there shit up! Anything lower then 10 % and no castor mix in it. you will have shorter Engine life but best for racing but not good for your engines if you stay at wide open throttle longer then 4 seconds. 50/50 mix is nothing just right not that messy still pretty clean ! It’s the 75/25 and the 100% castor oils that’s messy as shit and lots of Corbon build up
What about VP 20% nitro and 9% oil .I use it for a redcat lighting STR I have a vx16 motor . should I just stick with VP racing fuel or can I see some advantages going with a 30% nitro and 10% oil mix ?
I use torco. Awesome fuel. I just took apart my engine to check the internals after running 2-3 gallons of torco 30% through it and it was hella clean. A little carbon build up (which is to be expected) and it was really well lubed up on the inside.
To many people think that carbon build up is bad on nitro engines. If you have good fuel and it leaves a good burn and a nice coating inside, it's doing it's work. I have tried Byron, NitroPro and Bones and My top 2 would be Byron and NitroPro in that order. I have yet to find a fuel that leaves a good enough carbon burn like the Byron does. That carbon helps seal up the edges and holds compression better. Some of the other fuels out there that leave little to no burn don't leave much protection inside the engine. I had an engine go on me a few seasons ago because of that.
Enzo Albertoni you are spot on, I remember buying a used motor that was gunned up with carbon, when does it become to much carbon? Right now I’m feeling the bones brew a lot. Nothing wrong with the Byron’s plus you can get it everywhere
@@rajaa111 tbh man there is no such thing as to much..In the combustion chamber that is..If your carb needles are all gummed up and dirty that's just called bad quality fuel. But healthy engines that I had looked over and back when I was working for REDS I would see a lot of engines and help people, a lot of times engine issues came from them running to lean and not having enough oil and carbon build up to seal and protect the piston.
I run Torco fuel and my order didn't show up in time for a race so I bought a gallon of byrons at the track ran it in my novarossi motors and it was fine but felt boggy on the bottom. For the mains I switched back to the 1/3 gallon of Torco I had left. Night and day difference. Torco was crisper, more punchy, and idled higher. Motor had so much more power had to rich the motor a couple hours. I had doubts about my fuel when everyone around me runs VP but not after that, Torco is awesome fuel.
I had the same problem with torco my self, the shipping was a pain, but it ran really clean and no problems at all, bones brew I can get faster and it was cheaper
I just bought gallon if Byrons 25-9% since they didn't stock what I usually run, the 25-11% so I'll add some extra castor oil to it since I bash full on throttle. I do want to try that Bones Brew! I always stuck with Byrons for consistency, since it's so easy to find locally and because my LHS used to have insane prices on it for years. I used to get a gallon of Byrons 25%-11% oil for $24.99 BEFORE taxes. Now it's $35 with taxes and could go up. I don't know what the heck has happened bit nitro fuel prices has gone way up, at least locally. I use VP Master Basher 20%-14% oil to break in engines and it used to cost me $18.99 a gallon before taxes now it's around $26 before taxes. Fuel was so cheap I used to treat it like waste water, now it's pricer so I may have to start doing bulk online orders.
Can I use H1 heli nitro in a nitro car I called a couple of rc shops and I’m getting different answer yes and no so I hope you can hlep me out to answer my question
Now the Byron's is locked down to 4 gallons at a time to purchase it. They still got the quarts but of course economy of scale makes the dollar go way further with the 4 gallons, just gotta commit 2 benjamins to do it. My local hobby shop stopped getting the Byron's in the gallons because of it. Said something about the hazmat shipping surcharges makes it so expensive, so now I have to buy online instead of supporting them.
Wow you have to buy 4 gallons... thats crasy... I stop using byrons because it started costing to much, I've been running the bones brew 30-10 with no problems and the cost is much cheaper.... check them out at www.bonesmotorsports.com
Michael Parillo thanks brotha, I really haven’t seen a big difference, I do prefer the bones because it’s cheaper and I like the individual bottles compared to Byron’s gallon bottles. Byrons you can get everywhere which makes it convenient but you pay for that also. I can get bones brew shipped to me in 3 days. It’s really a personal preference , you can’t go wrong with either one 👍🏾
I am sure you probably know. If you go on Bones Motorsports.com you can get the Bones brew 30 nitro and 10 oil. $65.00 for 2 gallons. Also I was thinking about trying thier break in fuel? Have you ever used it before?
Tom Freitas yes sir, I alway get the 3 gallons for $95 shipped, 30% nitro 10% oil, I have never tried the break in fuel, but I’ve heard good things about it
Hello 😉is O’Donnell fuel any good it’s all the shops in my area in the uk stock and it’s half the price of Byrons which is round about $80 a gallon here in the uk
Down the river I’ve never ran O’Donnell but I’ve heard good things about it, it’s been around for awhile now, see if you can try out a quart of 30% nitro, see if your engine makes power and keeps good temps, 80 dollars a gallon for Byron’s is ridiculous, I thought it was night over here in the starts at 60 a gallon
VP Racing is good fuel bought some of that. And got so much run time on it one tank. Better then Traxxas Top fuel used to think that stuff was good. Its not sadly
Josh Chatwin yeah nitro fuel is high everywhere, 30% will give you more power and if you racing you want all the power you can get, 25% is still good but better suited for bashing both you can’t go wrong with but I would run 30% if you can
Okay bro thanks for the reply man looks like I’m on the hunt for 30% then an what throttle servo do you use in your buggy’s I no it was savox but can’t remember what one bro
I use the same fuel I’m going to run the engine with, it really doesn’t matter the % you are going to use, just make sure to keep the needles rich and take your time
Rajaa111 I’m guessing you live in the Lehigh valley area correct? If so I know of a place who makes nitro fuel out of his garage. Good prices too. He can make anything you want.
Hi there, lil question: Why you are using for break in prozedure 30% nitro? I mean a Engine is running well with lower nitro percentage as well, and for break in, there is no need for the extra power out of the nitro. Here in germany, and i guess all europe nobody runs higher than 25%. As i heard from racers and other experienced bashers, there is no more benefit above 25% nitro. I Run 16% nitro and 15% oil for bashing. I just started mixing my own stuff with Ethanol(Easy to get), 17% nitro, 2% Castoroil, 16% Synthetic and e131 for color. Im breaking in a new Engine with that for Experience, vids are coming. Have a nice day
When I break in my engines I just use what ever I’m going to run, some people add extra caster oil to there fuel and other use a lower % of nitro. Only difference I have really seen with 25 to 30% nitro is when you playing with the head shims.

BOTAJELL, what ratio are you mixing castor oil to your nitro? I'm using Torco 20%, for bashing it is NO GOOD. Temps are way to high.

Well, some engine manuals call for 30% nitro in the break-in procedure. For example, most high-end OS Speed engines call for 30% fuel.
For one thing its easier because you don't really need to re tune after the break in
My next kit is the TA truggy 3.1 can’t wait shame I can’t get a losi truggy 4.0 kit but gotta be honest the TA one looks the bomb also
Josh Chatwin they both are great kits but I think the rc8t3.1 is a better kit
