i just saw the video .. i was wondering if you have tested the new power output when you put them back on or if you know the power band of the turbos with the mamba kit , because on the official website the say that the 9 blade gives more flow compared to the oem but they don't specify the new power band
Dont those CHRAs need to be balanced before the housings go back on? I know the comp and turbine wheel are balanced as a set but most manufacturers recommend having them balanced once the CHRA is assembled.
Tbf yes they should be. Unfortunately I was working on a time frame to get the car back in one piece and leave due to selling the property. The turbos will be taken back off once the car is moved to the new property and the centre cartridges will be sent out for high speed balancing.
@@irontalonsengineering Ok I was just wondering, I know people that just send them like that without the balancing and have good luck, I however have the WORST luck so I always try to do it the right way. I was just checking in case you knew something I didn't lol. I am literally doing the exact same rebuild upgrade kit you are so its good to know the compressor housings dont need to be machined.
Thank you for the genuinely good info- Random asf but I just picked up a set of CT12A twins today and plan on rebuilding them so this video helps a lot (cant beleive it myself but i traded a camshaft lamp for them lmao- minor shaft play but seems like a genuinely good set to rebuild) I have a 1st gen 1uz v8 Lexus sc400 and a twin turbo setup with similar sized turbines produces up to 700 hp on stock internals- Ill check back here if I do something with them lol (look up CarTunes NZ's TH-cam if you're interested, they live for 1uz's and they're underrated... and cheap)
do you know the torque specks? thank you so much for this video!!! have watched it many times and finally got the Mamba lit and now im going through the shit task of taking the turbos apart . Also Love your Soarer!!!
Well explained and paced. Cant wait to see the next 1s.
Cheers bro!

Cheers for the positive words my friend.
Made my day 👍

That’s what i’m wondering too.
How did you get those small little snap rings out where the brass fittings go ?
Any snap rings or circlips i had would have been removed with either the circlip pliers or a few flat headed screwdrivers lad.
Thanks for the video but I wish you could have just slowed it down bro.
You know you can slow down the video, right?
