Josh Smith from Black Kettle Farm shares how Adirondack wildlands, farms + communities work together to build a sustainable future.
Josh's horse-powered wood-splitter project at Black Kettle Farm was supported through our micro-grant program in 2016.

This is fantastic! I am so glad that the good people of Lakeside School are making such positive strides and that they, and the Eddy Foundation, were able to work out a permanent solution for them to own the land on which they operate. What an amazing story and an amazing place.

What a wonderful way to work with horses! I love that the kids are learning how the cycle of renewable energy works first-hand so they can respect just how much effort it takes to keep warm in the winter. Lakeside/Black Kettle Farm is a jewel for all young families in this region.
