Historical forager finds abundance in the Adirondacks

Melanie Sawyer is a historical forager. She lives off-the-grid in a remote area of Essex County, NY between Moriah and North Hudson. She shares with us the bounty of wild foods she finds growing in the Adirondacks, and how it helped land her on one of the most popular reality shows on television. Melanie appears in Alone, Season 10 on the History Channel.

I see you are at one of my favorite places that I visit often, living close by in Vermont - Hammond Pond. I enjoy all of the trails from that trail head, no crush of people like the high peaks. I'm lucky to live close by but wish I lived right there! You're lucky!

There's a little more trivia I lived in the Adirondacks for 4 years the original word was ratirondack... Bark eater.
And I agree turn the news off turn the TV off that gives just gives us a distorted picture of reality get out into nature the real world.
