    7:50 is not a dog barking, that’s the planes’ hydraulic pumps transferring hydraulic fluid from one side to the other.
    It’s a very common sound on Airbus aircraft, particularly the A319, A320, and A321.

    Flying through a storm has got to be the most terrifying thing for me now. I flew out of Atlanta a lot & was never bothered by flying, now my heart drops and I start shaking when I feel the slightest bit of turbulence, storm or no storm. One bad flight through a storm was enough for me to never want to fly again. Needless to say I was having major anxiety and sweaty hands watching this video.

    • @cachef1
      @cachef1 5 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      I understand. But you know I used to feel like that until I had a very rough turbulent take off and flight from San Francisco to Chicago O’Hare once. At one point the pilot couldn’t wait for air control to give him a new altitude to clear turbulence. He dove the plane down out of the weather. Of course I thought I was doomed! But then he announced what he had to do and why. From that experience I have always had the attitude that if this plane can do this - and arrive in Chicago early, I’m have no reason again to be concerned about turbulence 🤗. It was definitely a positive realization. Now I just view it as a bus going over a bumpy road. But yes I do know the feeling.

    Great video. I left for Germany from Atlanta at the beginning of the pandemic. I was supposed to leave out of Ft.Lauderdale but had to leave the country before my planed return, so I left out of Atlanta. There was only one terminal open and it was dead inside. I love Delta because they had the best service and they gave me no grief with my ticket. By the way, I would have hated to sit in the other plane that took of parallel, they flew directly into that mess.

    Interesting so see ... uhm, hear the single Engine Taxi. :)
    Clearly you can hear just the Engine 1 startup at the beginning but then, Engine 2 does not start. Instead, you can hear from 1:22 this whining sound from the yellow hydraulic electric pump.
    at 7:49 you can hear the shutdown of the yellow electric pump and that's, where the PTU (aka the barking Dog) kicks in to provide further hydraulic pressure for the yellow hydraulic system, which was previously fed by the yellow elec pump. Shortly after the PTU stops, you can hear the start of Engine 2.

    • @derekrohan9619
      @derekrohan9619 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Matze it’s pretty common now.. saves quite a lot of fuel over time and wear on the engine. Wich I’m sure you know based on your knowledge of the hydraulic system and the color attached to them.

      @@derekrohan9619 Yeah for sure i know about that. ;) I'm just wondering, because in Europe, it's at least prior departure not an really common procedure.

      from 1:22 until 7:49, you can hear the electric hydraulic pump for the so called yellow hydraulic system.
      Once the elec pump stops, you can hear the Power Transfer Unit (PTU), so called the barking dog. The PTU can transfer hydraulic pressure from the green hydraulic system to the yellow one.
      After the PTU stops to bark, you can hear the startup of Engine 2, which then supplies the yellow hydraulic system with it's own hydraulic pump driven by the engine.

      The PTU (Power Transfer Unit). It's known as the "barking dog" and is unique to the airbus A320 series. It transfers hydraulic pressure from one system to another. Sorry for making this long. Basically after one engine is turned on before the 2nd van be turned on the PTU allows for this transfer of hydraulic pressure to initiate the start up of the second engine. If I lost you I'm sorry 😞

      No, thats the so called PTU (Power Transfer Unit) it makes sure that two separated hydraulic systems, both powered by the engines, stay on the same pressure level. (green and yellow system)
      There is also a third hydraulic systems (blue) but it has nothing to do with the PTU.
      Captain Joe made a great video about the PTU: th-cam.com/video/SCplhq1xoYE/w-d-xo.html
      Btw the "barking dog" is a common question, when it comes to the PTU.😄

    most delta planes bark like this but only on tarmac not in midair...scary for the first timers in delta flight...,but normal for the crew.

      Critical view only airbus aircraft do it.. its the ptu pump.. only happens on the ground. It has nothing to do with delta.. just aircraft type.. a319-20-21 all do it.

    That does not look like a real "parallel takeoff." The other plane is barely visible and is too far.

    • @garrett8053
      @garrett8053 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      This is a textbook parallel takeoff in ATL. One aircraft takes off on the North side, the other takes off from the South side. North side aircraft turn left, South sided aircraft usually turn right. for obvious reasons...

      The air in a pressurized aircraft is replaced on average once every 2-3 minutes. A hospital theaters air is replaced once every hour. You're more likely to get sick from someone in an office building a few floors below you, since it has recirculated air, than on a jet from someone a few rows behind you. Educate yourself with facts dumbass!!!!

      Haha if you are sick don’t fly.. not so easy. Most people are not flying just to fly around.. people have lives and reasons they are flying. Public restrooms are nasty so if you have to go to the bathroom don’t go anywhere.
