I think a lot of these "hard landings" look normal to viewers of this channel by now. Every now and then you should sneak in a totally normal landing to help us calibrate our expectations.
0:19 I am just blown away by the fact we humans can make a 50 tonne machine crash through mud at those kinds of speeds supported only by three spindly landing gear struts. it's so frustrating that the average person has so little idea how insanely amazing the world we live in is.

That version of the F-35 is capable of vertical take off. Notice that the exhaust nozzle was swiveled to point down, and the hatch over the auxiliary fan was open.
It’s an unanswerable question. One cannot judge it from the screen either because of the foreshortening effect of the extreme telephoto lens. They’re really VSTOL rather than VTOL. Taking off may take more runway than landing too.
2:48 holy heck, I didn’t realize what “fast landing” meant until then… good job pilot for still landing smoothly going that fast. Also, 2 back to back incidents at MSP…
0:52 Why are some windows different from others? Warped / dislodged outer shields? Why it had caught attention: there is a story of an airliner that got several windows' outer shields missing after the plane had been used for filming a movie on the day before. The cause was the wrongly placed stage lighting that heated the side of the aircraft to the point where windows got damaged.
@@teeanahera8949 Blinds are not black on the outside (why, it would greatly increase heating from the sun). And more important, at that angle the appearance of the windows is mostly from _glare_ (light reflected by the outer surface of the window), so blinds don't add much to it.
I'm calling it now...for The April Fool's Day, 3MOA will present a three minute video of perfect take-offs, landings and taxiing's and We Fans won't know what to do but OHHH and AHHH 🤣 Cheers From The Clouds In Ohio 👋
Lets say its not easier to land but there are 2 main factors : 1) in a no flaps situation pilots will put in double their concentration effort 2) the pillow from ground effects and the plane usualy producing higher lift bc of high speeds, means that the minimal amount of flare is way more effective at reducing vertical speed
That first one reminds me of my sister's first flight, where she only used the right half of the runway because she thought the half on the other side of the line was for planes going the other way.
It's the hatch covering the ducted fan that allows for vertical or short take offs, basically a big turbine pointed at the ground that pushes the jet upwards. I used to wonder why they went with one large forward facing door instead of something smaller (that produces less drag and looks less like an air brake) but seemingly the open hatch is also used to catch air and force it down into the turbine.
Pilots did a pretty decent job with the hydroplaning jet, sure it went off-roading but damage couldn't have been that bad if it was able to continue taxiing under its own power.
That SkyWest landing without flaps at 2:46 was better than most of the normal landings, well done 👏
You need to be perfect because if not 🎉

They’re the VSTOL or B variant. They use the ski jump on aircraft carriers for take off.
Any take-off that stays airborne is a good one (1:20).

The title of this video could have been "We have a number for you to call" lol
The "Silkway West" 747 takeoff is actually a Cathay Cargo 747 taking off.
How come the F35s took off with a speed brake raised? I thought that would be the opposite to what you want.
The F35s were performing short take offs, the raised panel is the intake to the forward lift fan
They were STOL F-35Bs. F-35A and C have normal takeoffs
I don’t know why, but I’ve never seen a hard landing when a plane lands without flaps. It’s always a smooth touchdown
Lets say its not easier to land but there are 2 main factors :
1) in a no flaps situation pilots will put in double their concentration effort
2) the pillow from ground effects and the plane usualy producing higher lift bc of high speeds, means that the minimal amount of flare is way more effective at reducing vertical speed

Easter egg: alltime beauty of commercial aviation waving a 'hello' to the audience
That last landing was very fast. I would have liked to have seen it come to a safe stop though.
The 320 seemed to get out of the mud ok. 8 wheel drive mode?
damn, that CRJ was almost as fast as a regular 737 appraoch!
It was quite possibly a hell of a lot faster.
CRJ200 no flaps is going to be ~180KIAS if heavy, 150 at minimum. 737-500 max weight flaps 40 is 140. Down to 107 at low weight.
So ~40kts faster.
1st clip...Wonder how long it took to clear all the FOD off the runway before reopening.
The Skywest plane, how much you want to bet the brakes were hot afterward?
You can clearly tell the last clip of the delta aircraft landing is sped up.... I mean its so obvious!!
DID that CRJ STOP?????
2:44 Am I blind? Isn’t that N4595W? I only find that registered to a Cessna P210N.

That SkyWest Delta Jet was coming in hot. They nailed the landing though.
wasn't that Silk Way West 747 was a Cathay Pacific aircraft?
Still the baddest thing ever. A 747 thundering down the runway and takeoff.
Why they don’t install parachute like in the space shuttle to slow down the aircraft in a case of emergency
This one taxied off the runway after this????

0:13 literally me in msfs lmao
And that is why you keep your seatbelt good and tight!
The SkyWest footage looks sped up to me, it's missing a lot of frames, it's a little too jumpy. I could be wrong
How was the A320 damaged?
Water and mud plus heat inside an engine, creates cement.
That CRJ was absolutely MOVING
The crows when death is looming... every time... ! 😮
I definitely think I would've had a panic attack if I were on that plane that left the runway.
Silkway was definitely heading for Schiphol West
Does anybody know why the F35B has this thing up for take off? Looks like the cockipit is open, but I assume it's something else
Wasn’t Jeremy Clarkson driving that A320 was it?
Delta pilot just proved the industry that they can stop building flaps into airplanes, completely not necessary !
The Lightnings look like they're wearing hats.
I do not envy the mechanics that had to scrape the dirt out of those engines.
Why did the F-35s open their upper air brakes for takeoff?
It's actually the F-35 Lift Fan door. An engine-driven lift fan helps with STOVL operations (Short Take-Off and Vertical Landing)
A320s can off-road now 👀
Isn’t that an incursion?
Mr. Lear, that is one great-looking plane Bombardier, developed from YOUR plane.
Right, but to be fair, that ain’t no real Learjet. 😂
The no flaps landing film was sped up.
(1:11 Bottom right) Concorde?!?!
Oh my on that 320. I wonder how bad those engines were FODed.
Pilots did a pretty decent job with the hydroplaning jet, sure it went off-roading but damage couldn't have been that bad if it was able to continue taxiing under its own power.
SkyWest should land without flaps more, they seem to be very good at it
