Yep, but those days are long gone. These days a pilot is risking his job by flying in a way that does not follow company economical procedures. If a pilot fools around these days, next thing you know, is that you're standing in front of your boss, who asks you if the money for the fuel you wasted is coming out of your own pocket.
The last time I flew Delta, it was on an MD-88. They take off like a space shuttle due to the rear-mounted engines. It seems Delta is moving to all Airbus, it's rare to find a Delta Boeing plane.
Love the 757 (except when seated in the WAY back of the -300 🙂). Still one of the best looking, best launching narrow-bodies in the air. LOL... great camera dip to pick up the 17 runway number on the taxiway!
Beautiful day for this takeoff. Not sure which engines sound the best... the Pratt's, or the Rolls. Both sound great! Thanks for very beautiful video of one of my favorite planes as well, and as others have said, enjoyed the shadow!
I flew on the first 757 that Northwest put into service on a flight from LaGuardia to MSP. I want to say around 1986. Unless it was just a new airplane, not necessarily the first 757 put into service by Northwest.
Not trying to be pedantic, but that looked like a totally normal take-off based on fuel economy. There's 23 seconds from the engines reach take-off power until the plane lifts off. That's a long time in 757 terms - even fully laden, it can be as low as 15 seconds from a dead stop. Those 23 seconds does not even include the ramp up. Also the engines were throttled back shortly after take-off. When the 757 does the famous steep climb, the throttle remains pinned until the end of the climb-out. And lastly, that engine pitch is just not high enough to be a full power take-off/steep climb. This was a fairly recent flight, and airlines, especially budget oriented airlines like Delta, don't do those powerful take-off's any more - they are all things considered, very expensive to do.
You’re probably right lol. It certainly felt steeper than what I’m used to anyway. Only reason we might have had a slightly steeper ft per nm climb initially is because the mall of America is right off the departure end of the runway we used.
Gonna be a vry vry sad day once these gorgeous girls are gone outta passenger service. Use to book my my Westcoast trips based on Equipment being a B757-222 or DC-10-10/30s or Even B777-222. Now it's mostly B737-800 or 900. Regardless wonderful video, fantastic Pw sound, Thank you for sharing with us.
Most of the Delta cabins are pretty aged but it has a classic feel to it and for good reason. Get up in the front of comfort+ or anywhere in first to hear the engines. Really amps up the avgeek side of the experience. I have zero complaints about the 75 whatsoever.
My dad flew the 57 out of mini for many years. Im so glad I got to fly with him before his retirement. Such an incredible aircraft.
Long live the B75. My baby. I will miss her so much. Shame on you Boeing.
Overpowered and safe
I feel the same with the MD-90 and B717-200. I miss the MD-90 every day and the B717-200 will soon follow
Delta is not retiring them anytime soon
Hear, Hear!!
Absolutely! I have flown many times on the 757....very nice planes.
Never get bored of a 757 takeoff!
Been on many near empty 757's with an enthusiastic pilot, pinned to the seat then straight up to the top floor.

Runway 17/35 is the shortest one in use at MSP so you got some extra Hot Rod engine power on the roll.
Do you happen to know the length of the runway? Just curious.
17/35 is 8,000ft

yeah ur chattin
Delta is 55% Boeing as of 2023. They recently placed an order for 100 737 max 10s with an option for 30 more.
absolutely gorgeous! love the views of the plane's shadow! (also the fact that the climb-out went pretty much right over my house in Burnsville) ◡̈
And that's why it's called a 'rocket ship'!! Awesome catch of the shadow of the plane during ascent!! Thanks for sharing!! 💕✈️✈️💕
😄
Seemed like a normal 757 takeoff; I have seen much steeper takeoffs, imho.
It’s a bit steeper because of the mall complex at the end of the runway. We leveled off a bit with the throttle back.

@@calvinhj3smspaviation757 Agreed, not a bad ride, but uff da... the wait to deplane from the way way back 🙂
@@TomDixonMN now that's what I hate waiting for a long time
The B757-200 is a beast of a plane ...
It seems to be one of the few Boeing planes that Delta still has in their domestic fleet. Usually, most of the ones I see are Airbus.

Thanks! Glad you enjoyed it.
I vote for Rolls
Just flew a 757 into Jackson hole WY..... Flying in we had the Tetons to our right with a beautiful sunset. Amazing :)
Love the drag race with the 737!
Lolo 757-200 won
@@thomaspease208I would lay a dirty twenty on that myself...lol
Have really grown fond of this beautiful bird!
Love that engine roar P&W 2000 roar amazing.
Agreed!
Definately the RB211 Rolls
I flew out of MSP to ATL on N547US back in May! Great take off dude! 😁✈️
Nice! Thanks!
Guess the IFE system crashed right after pushback since the F/As appear to be doing a manual safety demo?

Yeah that shadow gives you a glimpse of just how fast that damn thing is moving.
Cool to see the casted shadow
I love the 757. It's a great all-purpose airliner.
Love that ROAR!
That's amazing 👏 Beautiful filming 😍
Thanks!
I think we can hear the engine roar from the seats behind the wings
The 757 is my favorite - Nice job
Love the engine buzz delta airlines good job young lady
Well done video. Clear and beautiful. Thanks for posting.
Nothing beats the rb211
Flying 757-300 soon. What is the 757 experience like?

How big was this file in 4k resolution for 22 minutes!
I want to say somewhere around 10gb? The raw files vs compressed when exported are very different.
What kind of taxiing is this? Wingtip to wingtip?
What can and window mount do u use
GoPro standard suction cup mount
This exact aircraft is retired now, slowly 757s will be gone :(
😭
Yeahhh... Fantastic sound...
Isn't that a GE nose cone with the swirl?
The markings are consistent with some brands but not with all of them. I assure you that those engines are 100% P&W.

MSP to LAX

17 is so short. It also takes about a year to taxi to it.
It's 8000 ft. 747's use it...even the A380 has used it.
5:17 that 737 just passing by trying to assert taxi dominance but fails.

Was it just me or did the 752 get too close to the CRJ @1:29?
I never noticed that! Yeah, it’s a bit close.

Man it sounds like an outboard motor!
Second to the 707 for Best Plane They Ever Built.
Flying Pencil!
I have to go to MSP in the next few weeks
Hope you made it out of MSP safely📷
I don't think it was a steep take off. On the contrary, the airplane seemed quite heavy and slow to climb.
I've seen steeper 757 takeoffs, tbh...
Tbh, same
Want 2 fly in the pencil b 4 they take it out of service. WANT 2 feel the takeoff. Beautiful Plane
