    Excellent. I have two gen 3s and the slide started gritty and is better now after a few hundred rounds.

  • @Fatal_Inertia

    My NRA edition is a gen 3 in all aspects described. 0 issues. Trigger feels a little gritty and the recoil spring is quite stiff, but I imagine that will even out after a few hundred rounds. Only have 150ish rds through it so far with no issues.

    Just purchased the gen 3 BOD August 2018. Mine felt gritty as well. Disassembled wiped it all out with alcohol, cleaned everything completely with Ballistol and reassembled, as I do with all firearms when I buy them. After that, the slide was extremely smooth. Much more so than my glocks that I am very familiar with. Can’t wait to get out and shoot it now, so I can get it dirty and clean it again. Lol.

    Inside the frame at the front, the circle you see indicates the molding date (Month and Year), and the number is the cavity number of the mold. I will assume that because your particular frame has no number that it was cast from a single cavity mold. That doesn't mean that multi-cavity molds are not still being used. This is a non-issue. Rest assured that the injection molding facility that makes these frames probably doesn't specialize in flower pots.

    Interestingly, I have a Gen 3 frame (with no numbers near the edge), with a Gen 2 barrel based on your descriptions. Bought the gun brand new with a manufacture date of 09/2018. Someone else mentioned anything after 07/2018 should be fine. I just hope I have the thickened striker. Gun has been flawless so far.

    These are not generations of the P365. These are modifications that Sig has made over the last 1 1/2 years. I talk to a Sig Rep last week about the P365 & I was told that there are no generations but simple modifications have been made. The latest pistol since July 2018 have been running flawlessly. Strikers have been fixed & trigger springs have been cut slightly longer. I’ve put 2,200 rds. through my P365 with ZERO malfunctions. Great little pistol in my opinion!

      It's possible, but i think the issue is , with so little travel of the slide there simply is not enough space and time to fully retract the striker before the spent casing needs to start ejecting which results in the primer drag issue.

    @deucedeuce1572 ปีที่แล้ว

    0:57 ... I think it's crazy they had to round off that inner corner at the base of the firing pin (esp with primer drag and dry firing being considered. It's a common problem with other firearms and the solution of using a radius has been known for about 100 years now when it comes to firearms... and probably longer when it comes to manufacturing other things. It's not a recent discovery.

  • @TheWilferch
    @TheWilferch 5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Appreciate your vid but as a critique it would be nice for you to clearly say which gen you are FIRST holding up, before you compare them to other gens. At 0:37....you call this "firing pin spring"....you make no mention that Gen 1 is considerably longer, with higher coil-count, you only show the 3 pics. Why? Any comments on this point?
    At 1:28....you say the extractor spring "looks like they have beefened it up from the Gen2" ( are you now holding a gen3?)...yet, you later say, it isn't as beefy as Gen 1?...is that what you're saying? That the strongest is Gen1, weakest is Gen 2?.....and Gen 3 is "in-between"?
    As to the barrel engraving.....why not simply say Gen 3 is straight-font whereas Gen 1 and Gen 2 are different to one-another....but both these use slant font?
    At 2:45 you say Gen 1 and Gen 2 DOES have numbers on the front of the grip frame whereas Gen 3 does not. The pics you show don't show that very clearly, maybe you mean the single digit up front for Gen 1 and 2 but these are very hard to see. The only thing the pics show very clearly is that the "date wheel" is stamped further back on Gen 1 and 2....whereas Gen 3 has the "date wheel" much further forward. Much easier to identify this way.
    Lastly, as long as you were pulling the trigger....would have been nice to keep your finger back, rack the slide, and show us the reset travel...and how you think this compares.
    All told thanks for the vid, but I think the clarity of presentation going from one gen to another could have been a bit clearer. Cheers.

      @@2S1L3NT .. my comment is over 2 years old.....get a grip. Besides, the critique is still valid. I don't need to make a better video but any viewer can question "what-is-what?" if the presenter isn't being very clear which version of the gun he is comparing to another version....what "value" is an informative vid if it confuses people which guns are being compared...and therefore isn't clear.
