- Ive been longboarding this road for over ten years and its where I learned some of my first open road slides. And yet, it still never gets old.

Man quite impressive, and you have strong nerves and amazing abilities, because a smash or a fall at 50 mph could mean death or irreparable damage.
Yeah. He's taken a couple and moslty survived without too much damage. He mostly got skinned and scraped badly but nothing broken yet I think.

About 10-12 years ago I used to skate downhill with a pretty big group of riders from all over the Salt Lake county area here in Utah. One of them was named Jake Trotta... You guys wouldn't happen to be related would you?

I'm a street flat rider, i've never experienced that on a board, only short downhills...
Man I wish you well. One thing is to do this in a relatively open road without cars parked on the side or cross streets, vs a neighborhood, cause god forbit you fall onto a parked car at 50mph and the impact and stop distance of zero can definitely kill you. stay safe…

Been longboarding since I was in 6th grade and I'm currently 27... I live in Jersey so it's mostly flat here. I bomb hills but I always have to travel somewhere so it's not something I can do all the time. But just watching this I could just feel the adrenaline rush... I fuckin miss it so much... I gotta get back to it, its been too long!
Craziest hill I ever bombed was this extremely long yet shallow decline on a road in Connecticut. It was a fastest I've ever gone I probably hit 40 plus miles an hour. Its was INSANE! The speed wobbles were wild haha!

As I've been asked / shouted at by a Cop in a moving car asking me to slow down / stop for sending it in traffic...
In the UK:
A person on a skateboard riding the road is classed as a Pedestrian under the highways laws.
No matter the speed I'm doing, the police cant ticket me... as I'm a pedestrian even if I'm doing 50mph :D :D
I have to be treated with the same consideration as a Horse and Rider... you roadrage me you in the sh*t with the Cops.
I love the downhill longboard runs, but this is getting reckless. Accidents are called "accidents" because they're bad surprises from unfortunate coincidences of timing... Like some kids crossing the street, or a car crossing where you had a stop sign. Please don't roll the dice with other peoples' lives. (Sorry for the Dad talk.)

Yeah in a neighborhood is crazy. 50 in a 25 is double the speed limit. Bro could get reckless driving ticket even on a skateboard since it's considered a vehicle in many states. Also he doesn't have brakes either so hella dangerous (before anybody says "power slide," that is not nearly enough braking force to slow down in time, especially for a pedestrian or a cyclist)

Depending on the state, reckless driving is usually either just a misdemeanor or a gross misdemeanor. Some states is a felony. Usually just a ticket, but if really reckless, could be up to a year. Depends on where you live.
im pretty sure its not legal, cause any means of transport on the roads has to have brakes im pretty sure or an automatic way to stop

Despite the smooth roads and the uphill ending, this dude has more than proven he can handle hairpin turns and rougher roads at this speed…what’s your point? Even if this was a straight road with no turns at all, it’s still very difficult, mentally and physically, to stay steady and maneuverable at that speed.

Would knee pads restrict you or something or you just dont like them? Im not karening out on you just curious im a street skater and ive fell bombing a hill at about 30mph and it literally burnt my left knee and was one of the worst pains ever 😅. Im sure youve experienced the same. So jw why most of the downhill dudes dont wear them. 😊
Pretty much, it's just a comfort thing. When i used to skate downhill i had a nice pair of 187 pads but i never wore em because it made tucking less comfortable and just generally kinda limited my range of motion, especially being off-board and having to walk while wearing them. Tbf though a lot of the gnarlier dudes that i rode with did pad up pretty regularly, i feel like it was about 50-50 tbh
